Saroj Khan showers more than praises on Nach Baliye 2
There's enough
drama on the sets of 'Nach Baliye 2' (Star One) these days. First it was the new elimination format that upset the participants. Now it's judge Saroj Khan. After starting the trend of giving prize money to brilliant performers and whistling for them, she feels her style has become too common. Sources say that the choreographer/judge believes that judges of different channels are following her. The latest is that Khan has found an innovative technique to show her appreciation. Since the dance theme for Nach Baliye 2 next week will be the 80s, the judge has decided to throw chillar (small change) for the performances. Khan says they are not coins, and calls them motis (pearls). Apparently, Khan has been saying that the theme reminds her of her days as a choreographer. "I remember I would get excited when my ustaad would give me coins and I would save them and keep them as mementos." The first jodi to have received chillar from Khan was Hussain and Tina. Incidentally, the couple have never received a cash prize from the judge. "It was an overwhelming experience when Sarojji threw coins on our performance. I realise that I need to work extra hard to compliment Hussain. I will keep these coins as mementos and cherish them because we are the only couple that has not received money from Sarojji," says Tina.
And so the drama continues on Star One.
