Kanchi Kaul bursts ear-splitting crackers for half an hour, resulting in senior citizens threatening to file a complaint against her

The demure Anu of Ek Ladki Anjaani Si, Kanchi Kaul believes in living it up on Diwali. This year, on Diwali eve, Kanchi, along with a few friends, insisted on bursting loud crackers for several hours in her building complex. "Bursting crackers gives me a big high. It is something that I've always enjoyed doing since I was a child," she says. This time, however, Kanchi's idea of fun put her in real trouble.

Kanchi and her friends bought eight boxes of garland crackers (ladi) comprising two lakh crackers each. What's more, the girls lit both rolls, one after the other. The ear-splitting noise continued for more than half an hour and by the end it, senior citizens living in the residential complex threatened to file a police complaint against the girls.

Kanchi says that she did not mean to disturb others but couldn't resist bursting crackers on Diwali. "They're elderly and they surely must have got disturbed. But I did apologise to them as I didn't want any unpleasantness," says the actress.

So has Kanchi learnt her lesson? Apparently not! Kanchi adds, "The little girl in me refuses to grow up. I have always troubled people. Every year during Diwali, my family has to deal with our neighbours' complaints because of the noise I create."

The unit of Ek Ladki Anjani Si too celebrated Diwali in a special way this year. "Two days before Diwali, we wore traditional clothes, exchanged gifts and ordered food from a restaurant. The unit members of the show are as important as my family as I spend most of my time with them," says Kanchi.
