Honestly, I just cannot tell you how happy I am with the response to this FF! :D Didn't imagine, even in my wildest dreams, that so many people would like it and be asking me for updates! :D As I've mentioned to some readers, this story is somewhat based off of my own life...😆 actually, a lot of it is based on my life till this point, and hence, I didn't know how well this story would go! Till date, I've always made up the characteristics for Arnav and Khushi... but for this FF, both characters are very close to my heart... and I've tried to make this story as comical and realistic as possible. I know, for some of my readers, this story is really like a stress reliever, and that was exactly what I wanted to get at! Something funny...maybe a little realistic... We all know of those two people who never used to get along, don't we? 😆 So I'm really glad that this is working out!But due to this reason, you're going to have to be a little patient for the "love" part of ArHi's love hate story to bloom!😆 Pehle kuch takkar tho ho jaaye!😆
Btw, I also know that there were some people who were requesting updates from me! (You know who you are😳) I've written the reason for the late update at the bottom of the update! Do take a look! Par abhi ke liye, we need to start the story! So where were we? We left off when Arnav had just spillled his teacher's hot coffee on Khushi... Ab aage...😳
Chapter 6: Three Small Words"Just kill me now..." Thought Khushi, feeling the pain shoot up her arm as she applied to water onto her burning skin. She was in the top floor bathroom, trying, as best as she could, to fix the burn marks that had made themselves all too present on her skin. That stupid laad governor. She dabbed another wet paper towel on her peeling skin. "Devi mayyia ki kasam..." She said, wincing, "I'll kill him. Chop him up into tiny little pieces." Her hands fisted up automatically at the thought of the man she had (unfortunately) had to encounter twice from that morning. Speaking of which, this day was really turning out to be a blast, wasn't it? Not even third period and she had managed to make herself look like an idiot. No Khushi. YOU didn't make yourself look like an idiot, HE did. And then, her mind drifted off, wondering how in the world she could murder him without getting a life sentence in jail. She had considered everything from climbing up to his room from his window at night to sending a bunch of muscular boxers out to beat him black and blue. But she felt like that would be cheating. He had insulted her in front of the ENTIRE class. Then wasn't it only fair that she should do the same with him?! ...But how...?
The sudden burning of her skin brought her back to reality. She felt the hot tears, brim in her eyes. It hurt so damn much! She tore another piece of paper towel, wetted it, and slowly placed it on her skin. It wasn't long before she felt the cooling effect of the water. She remembered when she was young. She had gotten burnt from an iron box. And she had cried for three hours straight. And now? She was so angry that even the tears refused to come out. This was all HIS fault. ALL HIS FAULT. Her skin was ruined. Destroyed. God knows how long it would take for all the peeling parts to replenish themselves. Maybe months. And she couldn't go around looking like a something out of a horror movie! But what could she possibly do?! Suddenly, she heard a voice behind her. It was a man's voice. HIS VOICE. Her hands clenched, as if on their own accord. "So I got my revenge I see!" She froze in her tracks. Her blood boiled. It. Was. HIM. Even after all of this, he had the GUTS to actually SPEAK to her??! What the...? He sauntered in front of her. His hands were shoved in his pockets and his jeans hung so low on his waist that she was certain that they would fall to the ground after walking even a few footsteps. How gross. "Just get lost." She said, moving past him. But he was too quick for her. He grabbed her hand, pulling her back. She gasped, feeling the pain rush through her arm. "Admit it. You lost, I WON. Admit it." Seriously? Was this man for real?! Even after hurting her so badly on the basketball court... even after dumping hot coffee on her, even after embarassing her in front of the entire class, he was bent upon getting her to admit that she lost the game??! She glared at him for a moment before stomping on his foot and pulling her aching hand away. She noticed him wince for a fraction of second. It was so satisfying. "NEVER. Not. If. My. Life. Depends. On it." She said and pushed him back. Oh yeah, she had it ALL under control. Khushi Kumari Gupta was the definition of COOL... even if she WAS drenched in coffee. "I'll make you admit it." He declared. I swear, she would have walked away without saying a word if the nub hadn't spoken. Seriously. "You WILL admit it. You'll walk right up to me, and say it to my face. And that's a Raizada's promise.""Yeah?!" Khushi asked, feeling her anger boiling over. "Well, don't be too sure about that! I don't admit ANYTHING to sore losers!"
"I am NOT a sore loser!"
"Are too!"
"Am NOT!"
"Are TOO!"
"Am NOT!"
In their argument, they hadn't noticed that with each word that they spoke, they moved just a step closer to each other. They were now barely a foot away from each other. Both stopped. Both froze. Wow. This was awkward. Turning away, Khushi moved quickly away from him.
"YOU ARE." She finished, satisfied that she had won the argument. "I'll deal with you later." He muttered, his face flushed. What the...? Was he blushing?! Only girls blushed...didn't they? Khushi shook her head, shaking away the thoughts. "And why are you here in the first place?! Are you blind?! Can't you read?! It says right on the door: WOMENS."
He glared at her. What was this girl made of?! "Yeah, um, yoohoo! I'm not interested in entering a ladies bathroom either, thank you very much. Stupid Satchell made me roam the halls to try to find you. And he forced me to enter every single ladies bathroom on the top floor to look for you. JUST so that I could apologize to you."
Khushi raised her eyebrows. Ok. Now THAT was funny. And was DEFINATELY going up on Facebook. "So?" She asked.
"So what?!"
She groaned, rolling her eyes. "My apology! Where is it?!"
He scoffed. "PUH-LEEZ. I am NOT apologizing. Arnav doesn't apologize to anybody. Especially not to sassy first years. And um, lets see, that means YOU."
She shrugged, going back to dabbing her wounds with a wet paper towel. "Fine then. I'll just have to tell Satchell that you didn't apologize to me. Then he'll take you back to class and make you say it in front of EVERYBODY. Oh, and lets not forget. I'll be capturing the moment on video."
"You wouldn't..." He said, trying to sound confident, although his eyes reflected his uncertainty. She grinned. Bingo. A weak spot.
"Try me."
There was a moment of silence. He looked at her, wondering if she would ACTUALLY do what she promised and she looked at him, awaiting his reaction.
"I'm seriously going to kill you..." He declared before taking a deep breath. "I'll say this once, and once only." He said, to which Khushi smirked. "You'll say it as many times as I want to hear it." He glared. "Never. Not happening. Only once. So listen to it carefully. Because not many girls have the opportunity of hearing THE Arnav Singh Raizada apologize." He closed his eyes, clenching his teeth. "Imsorry." His voice was slurred. Khushi smirked. "You call that an apology?! That was gibberish. I couldn't understand a word you said. Say it again."
"What the?!" He said, his eyes growing red with fury. Khushi surpressed a smile. She was having too much fun being evil.
"You heard me. Or else, you know, I have my phone right on hand... And facebook is only a click away!"
She heard him mutter something that strangely resembled, "Pata nahi kiska manhoos chehra dekh liya aaj subha jo iss ladki ko bardaasht karna padh raha hai (I don't know who's unlucky face I looked at this morning, to be stuck with this girl."
"I'm Waa-ii-ting!!!" She said, in a sing song voice.
"I'msorry."
"Repeat." She added, shaking her head. His mouth dropped open. "Wha-"
"Yeah yeah, cut it already!" She snapped. "what the. That's what you were going to say! I know! Cut to the chase, wouldya! I want you to say it again!"
"No WAYS!"
"Remember the video!"
"I don't care about the video!"
Khushi raised her eyebrows. "Really? If I take that video and it goes up on facebook, tumhaara image ka tho dhajiya udh jayega (your image will go down the drain)"
"Tum kya pichle janam me blackmailer thi? (were you a blackmailer in your last birth?!)"
She shrugged. "Who knows?! And I am what I am! Besides, I have the upper hand right now, so SHUTUP and apologize to me. PROPERLY."
"That WAS proper!" Shot Arnav. Khushi rolled her eyes. "THAT," She replied, referring to his previous apology. "Was not P of proper! Say it PROPERLY. Do I need to spell it out for you!? Get on your knees."
Arnav was red with anger. "WHAAAT?! NOT HAPPENING! NEVER! NOPE! NO! I WON'T DO IT! NO!!!!"
She shrugged. "Suit yourself! But remember, Mr. Satchell is only a hall away!"
"GAAHH!!!" He screamed. "I HATE YOU!" She grinned. "TRUST ME. Its mutual."
He stared at her, furiously, and started zipping down his leather jacket. He walked towards her, slowly... His eyes were fixed on hers. Khushi's smile was wiped away in an instant. Was he stripping? "Wha-what are you doing?" But he didn't stop. He slowly peeled off the jacket, throwing it to the ground. "Dekho, main keh rahi hoon, (look, I'm telling you,) don't you dare take another step forward."
"Main tumhaara baap nahi hoon, jo tumhaari har baat manoonga. (I'm not your father, that i'll listen to every word of yours)."
"Wh-wha-"
"What are you doing. That's what you were going to ask, wasn't it?" Asked arnav, mimicking Khushi. "You honestly didn't expect me to get down on my knees on the bathroom floor, did you? I need SOMETHING to kneel on. And thanks to you, my leather jacket is going to have to go to the dumps tonight."
"He pulled the black jacket in front of him, and kneeled down on it. "I'm sorry." He said, at last. "Happy?!" Khushi smirked, relieved. "Woh kya hai na, humaare yahan, bhikaarion ko khaali haath nahi jaane dete. (the thing is, in my family, we don't let beggers go empty handed). Challo, maaf kiya. (ok, I forgive you)."
She could see his anger skyrocketing. Aah, sweet revenge. She was going to remember this moment for a long time. Suddenly, her teacher, Mr. Satchell, opened the door to the bathroom. "Anyone in he- Ok, good, so you've found her after all, Arnav." He turned towards Khushi. "Did he apologize to you yet?"
Khushi feigned a look of surprise. This was going to priceless. "Apologize?! Why no! He's been yelling at me and calling me names since the moment he walked in here!"
Arnav's mouth dropped open. She swore it looked like he was having a mental seizure! Khushi had to try hard to surpress the smile that was itching to come forth. "She's LYING! She's LYING SIR! It's not true!" He protested. "I apologized! Three WHOLE TIMES!"
Satchell raised his eyebrows. "Arnav. I'm truly disappointed in you. You certainly haven't made a good start to the new school year... It's a pity... And this poor girl! You spilled coffee on her?! What are you, 4?! Actually, even a 4 year old wouldn't do something like that! Arnav, you are going to walk back into that class and apologize to this young girl, in front of EVERYONE. Got it?! And I don't want any discussions!"
"But sir-"
"No discussion means NO DISCUSSION Arnav. You are going to do as told."
And so, that was the story of the day that Arnav had said his first sorry...erm...first 4 sorries. Possibly one of the most embarrassing for Arnav and perhaps one of the most memorable for Khushi. But hold on there, readers! 1 class period doesn't mean anything. There were 2 classes left in the day. And little did Khushi know, that the day that had started out for Khushi as being the most miraculous would turn out to be the most frightening one of her entire life.
--END--
Hope ya liked that guys!😉 Khushi got back at Arnav!😆
