Thank you for such an overwhelming response to my Initial thread. Sorry if I was unable to respond to your posts as I had my task cut out. Hoping for another round of good discussions..

So the truth has finally emerged that Barun Sobti has quit the show for good in search of greener pastures. The News was very much on expected lines (for me at least) as he had never shown much interest nor commitment towards the show during/after shooting of his movie. Even in his interviews he was non committal on his association with the show but never shyed away speaking about his Bollywood Dreams. His falling acting standards, shoddy grooming, lack of commitment towards the show, unwillingness to come clean on quitting issue and constant complaining about the working hours doesn't hold him in a good light.
The actor had bluffed/lied twice over first when he put down his papers in September and more recently the "Longish break" thing. The Channel has called his bluff and come clean as they were inundated with queries and clarified that in fact he has quit and has no plans of returning. The situation would never have turned chaotic had the actor himself admitted it rather than beating around the bush and playing with the sentiments of fans, in doing so he has lost his credibility for selfish gains.
Barun has a history of ditching shows at the last minute and leaving producers fuming. His latest stunt will only make matters worse.
