Such a beautiful post! 😊

I am Indian and could not stand Indian serials. But this was a first!

I would like to say that maybe we'll see a show as captivating as this again (well what the show was up until Feb '12), but I don't know if we will.

Maybe this show will pave the way for other shows to be like this? Brilliant casting, simple story written well, characters with shades of grey presented in just the right manner, exquisitely filmed...? I hope this really does set a trend for change in Indian serials, with focus on characters instead of families perhaps and not necessarily romance (and yes I know it's been done before but never this well otherwise we wouldn't have so many non-Indian international viewers hooked on an Indian show). I hope it inspires creative people to come forward with good meaty scripts for TV - TV need not be fodder to while away the time in the evening. Look at some shows in the West - they're writing, plotlines and budgets rival that of big movies!

I hope it makes channels like Star take risks - let's see if their 'soch' really is 'nayi'...or have they been put off forever by this hoopla? Hope not!

And come on other PHs! If 4 Lions can come up with age old concepts packaged in great ways learn from this! Also hope that someday Indian serials move to weekly episodes as a norm, with seasons to allow great actors the ability to juggle every career opportunity they wish and to not be worked to death by it! It'll also force the writing to be above par - people expect far more from a weekly episode than a daily one. If the latter had been the case we could have had IPKKND run for a long time without standards slipping.

It will take a paradigm shift in the culture of viewers, production teams and more importantly channels for this to happen. The latter unfortunately are the bosses and make the final call...and they love playing it safe...

Thank you for spending your time and replying to my post..
Feeling so appreciated...
Of course people will pay more attention to the newer ones and the older ones are often being neglected...
That is so not fair... >.<
