yes 😆 have seen those interviews. found his idea of love interesting. after saying he won't know what that is till he is 80 or more, he said his wife had always dome the right thing by him, and that's what he tries to do by her. the right thing. that's important.

sounded a little "trying to be deep," but he was so earnest, i knew he meant it. and it was an interesting point of view, in someone rather young. lovely person, hope all goes brill for him.

akshay, barun, sanya, all very real people. that's what connects with me.

As nancynair has mentioned, I was a little confused whether I turned into a Barun fan because of ASR. Today, its absolutely clear. Its Barun all the way.

We would be deprived of the magic created by Barun and Sanaya, but God willing the truth will prevail and the Phoenix will rise and I will be praying and waiting for that day.

In the course of the last one and half years I was amazed to see myself drooling, obessessing and oh yeah of course checking out ASR (my overies are in perefect working condition (Thank you God), copyright Laddoo. I had thought that I had fallen and fallen hard for the flawed man with the golden heart, the gorgeous who would burn the screen of my TV with his scorching good looks, making us overlook the shiny suits, the greasy hair, etc., etc (need to check basher posts for more flaws, I am usually lost when I see him, I am shallow, boo hoo hoo).

I have no idea when my love shifted from the suave, sophisticated, ruthless ASR with the sexiest accent to Barun Sobti, the media-shy actor, the unassuming Delhi lad with the funny accent, the goofy, fun-loving guy. When did that happen? No idea...

Today respect has joined love and lust. Lust. yeah, sue me.

Spoke to SP a few minutes ago, Charles was rather patient as I ranted about SP's cowardice and cheapmess among other things in hiding behind one man. The show is ending just because Barun is leaving for movies. Like really.

Its a one-man show . Admit it then.

My respect for the man has gone up a few notches higher.

you are so right. everyone goes all over the place and finally points at barun. the lode star. the north pole. the only one that is steady enough and so can be pointed at, and all things are with ref to him.

i found mr chaddha's assessment of barun a really bright spot in this tamasha. he said barun is like arnav. i have often sensed that asr in him, especially in his off screen moments, even when he's horsing around. straight, direct, his own man, not fudging anyone.

he also said, barun is emotional and doesn't care about worldly things or words to that effect. that's the whole issue i guess. he is not ordinary and not familiar to this pack in terms of personality. doesn't play games. in this club everyone does and it makes them super uncomfortable to deal with someone who looks them straight in the eye and says what he has to.

what we don't understand i guess always scares us.

similarly us. we feel wonderful and assured when an actor says the "right" things to us, utters almost scripted passages of devotion to fans, big talk of responsibility, and our indispensable place in his stardom, etc. the feel good factor.

when someone does that differently. when someone doesn't give us that usual stuff but shows it in his work. when he levels with us and says he is a private guy and doesn't want this social networking thing. when he refuses to be "starrified." when he behaves like one of us. we just don't get him.

people rushing around and talking about his lack of commitment, etc., i suggest they go and sit in front of the screen and watch an episode of ipk. his commitment and dedication shines where it should. he is not required to discuss the terms of his contract with us or cut and prune his ambition or desires for our sake.

all this talk of he signed up for a year. if so, so what. most serials don't even last that long. that contract possibly has a huge exit clause that works in the employers' favour.

and if he doesn't want to continue with ipk anymore, after his current contract is done, also his prerogative.

we haven't bought him over because we like him. nor has he bought us over.

leveling with everyone. there's a lot to be learnt from this man. i wish him oodles of success and a fantastic break. all the best to him, his wife, family.

I remember in one of his earlier SBS or SBB, can't recall exactly, where SI was speaking freely in front of camera.. he said.. hey.. we are in front of camera.. and ppl will believe whatever we say.. kind of stuff.. the first moment, when I started looked at BS as a different person altogether.. - someone who is too straight, and who thinks deeply from a recipient's point of view.. very different from a typical star, who knows what to say and when to say it..
