Hello my dear Arshians and IPKians,
I've been a silent member here for a while now; the chaos, character-butchering and speculations had sort of driven me away. Well, now that I've gotten over sulking, I'm back.

I have a few things to share with you all. And if I may take the liberty, I guess a vast majority of you will agree with me.. Your time and patience is really appreciated.. 😊

Warning: It's really long! 😉😃

IPKKND and Me :

It all started on a gloomy rainy evening on 7th June 2011, a day after IPK aired on TV.
I accidentally happened to come across a promo link, where a bubbly pretty girl handed over a balloon to a guy asking him to win over the girl's heart and an angry-looking guy asked his employee to buy off someone's loyalty..

It seemed like the age-old opposites attract, fall in love, a series of misunderstandings follow and ultimately love triumphs in the end kinda love stories..
Having watched Sanaya in MJHT before, I was kinda intrigued and the guy looked good too.. 😉

However, something about the promo drew me towards it; well it was the MAULA... at the end.. I've always had this thing for good bg music in a show..

And hence decided to give it a shot.. And well, life's never been the same ever since!!

The bubbly, shy and pretty Khushi Kumari Gupta and the sauve, angry, hot Arnav Singh Raizada have been scorching my screen ever since..

They met and as expected they fought; he gave her a tough time, she gave it back fair and square!

She entered his house and met his family members, who instantly took a liking towards her; and then entered the vampy Miss Kashyap..

She suffered humiliation and hurt at his hands, yet, he was the one who was her savior, an angel in disguise.

He despised her for being herself while she hated and even pitied him for being THE ASR.

And then cupid struck!! who can forget the very first Rabba Ve, his eyes lingered over her sleek form draped in his favourite colour; their eyes met and well, sparks flew!

A few epic scenes were witnessed which were to be immortalised forever! the rain hug, Teej, Rakhi, the storeroom scene, throwing chai on him, Nainital etc. to name a few and well, i knew it then;
this TV serial was going down in history as a saga!

The fairylights Rabba Ve is one of my absolute favorites; reason being Arnav's piercing gaze on Khushi. This one leaves behind a warm and fuzzy feeling.. 😳

The Diwali night missed-kiss and 'Jaadu hai Nasha hai' offered a sneak-peak into the intense, sensuous moments that were to follow and well, we've never been disappointed ever since. 😉
The scene resulted in a realisation leading to a terrible heartbreak.. I remember having cried with Khushi that night! I felt like punching ASR across his face..

What happens when a supposedly heartless person realises that someone is slowly breaking down the walls around his fortress? He out rightly refuses to accept it and lashes back at her.. And that is precisely what our khadoos Laad Governor did!

A series of taunts, heartbreaks, instrumental version of Sad Rabba Ve's and reminders of 'aukaat' ultimately ended up in an engagement in front of the revered Devi Maiya; an indication that they were destined to be together!

To be Continued.. 😊

Payash's pre-wedding track was/is and will remain my personal favourite. Khushi's acidity and Arnav's fark padta hai, his playfulness, her discomfort were brilliantly executed! And our own Nandakishore.. 😉😳 Phenomenal work there..

Who can forget Didi tere Jethji Deewane! 😳 and that smile playing on ASR's lips..

And well, the Teri Meri dance sequence was a dream come true.. I bet each one of us were on the edge of our seats with wide grins and crimson blushes plastered on our faces.. The song is now synonymous with Arshi; try as much as I can, the magic simply refuses to fade away.

And then, it was time for the tag line of the show to come into action and whoa, how!! 'Nafrat paas aane na de.. Mohabbat door jaane na de..'

It truly was a heartbreaking and poignant journey of two souls in love, separated by misunderstandings and a creepy Snakewa!

He tried hurting her, hating her; alas, like they say Man proposes, God disposes.. He ended up falling for his own wife..

She married him out of helplessness, a contract marriage, as he had referred to it.. He had humiliated her by destroying her most precious dream, yet he ruled over a tiny little corner of her heart!

However, the CV's more than made up for it with the Holi confession..
Never in real or reel life, have I ever come across a confession as pure and soothing as this one.. It was sheer magic and happens to be my favourite scene till date!

'Humari dhadkanein ek ho jaati hain' would've otherwise sounded so cliched and scripted; however Arnav-Khushi made sure that we felt every single emotion, every drop of tear touched us and our hearts rejoiced at their confession..

It wouldn't be too far-fetched to say that Arnav Khushi's impersonation of Heer-Ranjha was beyond praise! They nailed it to the T!

Then came the 'Swami' track; well it was slightly annoying initially but with these two, you can't stop adoring even the silliest tracks.. Khushi's antics were a huge respite from the thick tension gripping the characters..

And then the most awaited revelation, their hearts broke yet again and so did mine.. She was shattered when he didn't believe her while he was in a turmoil having to chose between his heart and head once more..

Who would've thought that a mere job as menial as stitching a button would make our hearts wrench in pain..

The Shaitan and Sundari fairytale was beautifully moulded to suit the duo and well, I couldn't stop falling in love with the Rajkumar-Shaitan myself..

She had had enough! And decided to prove her innocence to the one she loved and committed a blunder; she trusted the enemy..

And then the airport scene; I have something personal to share here. That was the first time, I actually cried on watching them part ways..
She longed for her to believe him; a part of him wanted to and that turmoil made me weep.
The 'new version of Rabba Ve - Kyun Dard Hai Itna' was a beauty in itself!!

I guess, each day, subconsciously I kept waiting for Arnav to return back to Khushi..

The kidnapping track, though added in to accommodate Barun's absence wasn't that bad at all..
The 'Aaoge jab tum' dream sequence was ethereal and so was Arnav's confession of love! Another one of my favorites.. This is what made Arnav-Khushi special; subtle yet dream dot perfect!! 😃

I'm sure the entire 'Khushi rescues Arnav' mission was a relief after having been Barun-deprived for over a month..

The Hut scene and Saiyaan was definitely the cherry on the cake.. I still remember the forumwasis hyperventilating after the promo was aired! 😉😳

Jugnu..

More than the anticipation of the consummation scene, it was Barun's intense gazes that made my heart thud against my chest! That pair of chocolate-brown orbs!!

And what followed was a major disappointment; 'dil ke armaan aansoon mein beh gaye..' Rocky.. Rocky.. Ki kar ditta tussi?!!

Next we got to see, Shyam at his worst (or maybe worst!) And as always, the Creepwa played cupid and ended up uniting Arshi! 😉😆

the Cliff scene was beautifully scripted and enacted; yet again reiterating the fact that the duo could turn one of the most clichd scenes of Indian TV and Films into a piece of magic!

Oh and well, the 'thappad ki goonj' made me jump in glee..'Yeh, meri patni se battameezi karne ke liye!' I had actually wolf-whistled alarming my old landlady! 😉😛
(I remember having been ecstatic that I actually had actually indulged in two biiig chocolate brownies that evening!)

Arnav-Khushi's brewing romance post Shyam's exit and Anjali's withdrawal was being balanced very aesthetically.

His apology, her forgiveness..

Nothing OTT, sheer brilliance there!

I've been following the show on and off ever since then, having moved back to the UK for a new job!
However, thanks to you guys here, I've never really missed out on the written updates and episode analysis!

Recently, started following the show regularly and well, the magic simply refuses to fade away.
Gone are the random and saccharine-coated Rabba Ve's having paved the way for more intense and mature ones; the latest offering being Yoga ve! 😉

Can it get any better?! Well let's wait and watch! 😉😃

Sanaya Irani and Barun Sobti have revolutionised romance on Indian Television forever; 'dhakdhaks', fark padta hai's, 'gust of winds', random falls and lifts will always be synonymous with Arshi..

Barun Sobti clicked as the angry, ruthless and cold ASR instantly and well, we were never disappointed ever..
Sanaya is absolutely brilliant as Khushi; I can't think of any other actress who could've done justice to Khushi's character..

This show has catapulted them to the pinnacle of success and is definitely the brightest feather in their caps..

Kudos to the two of them for having brought Arnav and Khushi to life.. 👏

TV in India has offered some legendary and brilliant shows such as Kutumb, Kyunki Saas, Kahin toh Hoga, DMG, MJHT, Geet, to name a few favourites!

There's been a common link between them all; yes, the leads have been the pillars behind the success of these shows, however they wouldn't be where they are, had it not been the supporting characters and that is where, IPK joins the crew!

Be it the sauve, dimpled Lavanya or the revered matriarch Naniji or even the silly mutton, Lakshmi, each one of them carved a niche for themselves in our hearts.

My personal favourites being, Anjali, Shyam, NK and our darling 'Hello Hi' Mami..

Daljeet as Anjali Jha/Singh Raizada made me adore her as the loving, warm sister with each passing day. I've adored her for being Chotte's Di, a loving wife to a conniving husband, hated her for being the other woman in Arnav-Khushi's romance, and yet I maintain, IPK and Arnav Singh Raizada wouldn't have been the same if not for Anjali/Daljeet.. 👏

Shyam; well, I don't think I've despised an on-screen character as much as I hated Shyam! Abhaas, was truly outstanding in his portrayal as the conniving, sly, psychopathic Shyam Manohar Jha..
IPK and Arnav-Khushi would've been just another fairytale lovestory had it not been for the Creepwa..
Snakewa, Creepwa, Daiya Ho, Scorpion; every possible adjective in the dictionary has already been used for him.. 🤣
To me, he was and will remain the greatest Arshi fan and supporter, who somehow always ended up playing cupid coz of his failed physics, chemistry and biology experiments! 😉😆😆

NK.. Yo NK!! Karan has been much more than a mere comic relief on the show.. The best friend, Khushi could've asked for... Nanheji, we love you.. One word; an absolute darling!

And Hello Hi.. Bye Bye; I love her to bits, so much so that I've actually adopted her lingo into my daily life.. She's my favoritest character on the show after Arshi/Sarun.. 🤣

Not just on-screen, the cast has left no stone unturned to entertain us off-screen as well.. Be it Barun-Akshay-Sanaya's epic Balwant Kaur or Barun-Akshay-Abhaas-Karan's Dostana, Sanaya's coffee mug, Barun's cricket, Daljeet-Abhaas-Barun's Mere Brother ki Dulhan or Jeeja kamina nikla or Barun-Sanaya's 'very pretty', Balloon and TinTin!

God! How am I going to survive without my daily dose of these lovely people..

I apologise for having ranted so much and I really appreciate you guys for having read this post. There's a reason why I decided to make it in the first place...

Having eaten, slept and lived with IPK and Arnav-Khushi on my mind for more than a year now, I do understand that the abrupt and seemingly cruel ending of our beloved show is difficult to digest.

Having said that, I don't really know what actually transpired within the PH, with Barun or the Channel; it all seems like a major goof up, simply put, Khichdi..

The PH and SP are clearly trying to playing safe by placing the blame on the actors or the fans, which is really sad.
Yes, it would've been difficult to watch IPK without Barun coz he is ASR and none can match his portrayal of the character; a replacement would have been disastrous..

But aren't these the same CV's who had bowed down to actors' and public pressure in the past and have modified their scripts accordingly; why not do it now? 😕

Also, like Lalit Mohan has mentioned in one of his updates, 200 families are at stake.. Why end the show then? And the worst part is, why blame the viewers for the show's end! 😲

Apart from having crushed your fans' expectations and undying love for the show, you've also jeopardized the earnings and careers of the entire cast and crew who've worked day and night over the last 17 months.

Anyway, I've moved beyond whining and sulking now, coz there's honestly not much that I can do as a viewer..

Humble request to fellow Forumwasi's here,

I know it's better done than said, but can we all please try and let go of the animosity and bitter feelings and enjoy the last few days left?!

We wouldn't want it to go off air, leaving behind a bitter taste in our mouths, right? Let's give the show a much deserved happy and smiling farewell..

And that is precisely why I made this post! For u and me to try and relive those wonderful memories once again.. 😊

It is going off air leaving behind a void which will be hard to fill up in the near future, coz it isn't a mere TV show for me. It has been a constant companion all these months, I would return to after a day of hard work..
IPK has touched my life in ways more than one..

The show has changed my perception of Jalebis, Pakoras, chanas, pooja ki thali, pearls, payals, pompoms, Pool sides, waist-coats, fireflies, cockroaches, Diabetes, Laad Governor, Car seat-belts, Dabba services, Devi Maiya, Teri Meri, Yoga, What-the, Dammit and last but not the least blissful and magical romance!

Rabba Ve and its different versions have been my ringtones for over a year now..
'What-the', 'Hello Hi, Bye Bye..' and Mami's lingo has become a part of my daily conversations..
Jalebi is my favorite sweet now..
The mere sight of a swimming pool takes me back into Arshi land..
'Gutter' now has a totally different and naughty meaning to it..
I've often annoyed my fiance by calling him 'Swami' and the best bit,
my mum-in-law had once walked on me swaying to Rabba Ve in the kitchen.. 😉😆

Well, if that isn't crazy enough, I don't know what is!

Here's my farewell to my most beloved show ever! I wish the actors loads of good luck for their future projects and hope to see them back in action soon! 👍🏼

Kudos to Barun and Sanaya for having immortalised Arnav and Khushi.. You'll live in my heart; forever and always!

However, a question still looms over, humare, IPK fans ke, Arnav-Khushi ke

Iss Pyaar ko kya naam doon?

P.S.: Credit for the pictures goes to their original uploaders (except, the last collage) 😉
