OS - The Dress

The stars shone above them, the water calm in the pool nearby,

The leaves rustled around them but they were lost in the other's eyes!

They knew not the moment, they knew not the time

They knew only their love, they knew only their heart, they knew only their life.

With her hand gently placed in his and her head upon his shoulder

To the room he led her, to have her, to hold her.

One the bed he seated her, placed a box before her

Her eyes asked the questions, his smile was the reply.

With nervous fingers she tore through the wrapping,

Eager to see what he brought her this time,

His need to erase their troubled past, his desire to see her eyes shine

His longing to hear her laugh, to make up for what they lost in time!

The box lay open, the contents now visible,

Her eyes looked confused, his eyes reassuring…

"For tomorrow, for you to look divine" he said…

"I can't" was her nervous reply.

He led her to the bathroom, and gave her time to change

He waited anxiously, eagerly, nervously, willing time to race

He heard the faint click of the door and turned around to see

She stood there nervously, shifting and fiddling,

Willing his eyes to look away

But he stared at this goddess before him,

A woman who could put the world to shame

She looked glorious dressed in red

A beauty for his eyes alone

Her long legs never ending, her heaving chest unstopping

Her thin waist wrapped perfectly in a red cocktail dress.

He walked towards her, her eyes cast down

He placed his hands gently on her waist, she trembled like always.

He led her to the mirror and stood behind her

She raised her eyes and looked at him, she stilled!!

She didn't see lust, she didn't see hunger

All she saw was pure love!

"Whatever you do, wherever you go, whoever you become,

She gazed intently as he spoke, trembling bodies holding on

Whether it be a western dress, whether it be a sari,
