Why is the channel bowing so low to this man? Simply because they themselves are corrupt. The casting/creative team of colors, endemol is corrupt to begin with. They cast their own friends. They mould the show as per their own wishes. They edit in such a way that they can make anybody a hero and anyone a villain. So here comes Salman Khan who says "nothing doing, if you want me then I'm the boss. " So now instead of the Channel executives calling the shots, it is Salman who does so. One thing I can tell you for a fact...There is no or very little "reality" in this show. This show is run by corrupt and impotent people. 😉

Arey wohi toh! I know they cast their own friends and etc. But when did Salman become so important to them that they are willing to let him take over THEIR show? I mean? What about other celebrities to host? I mean it's not like they actually LIKE having their show hijacked, do they? They probably do not like Salman taking all the shots, but let him do it anyway because they want him on the show. But my question is, why is it that they want him on the show? He is not the only celebrity in India.

Any right thinking, morally upright and confident individual will think in the same way as you. But sadly, the people who run this show lack these qualities. Salman is passing through a career high right now with his films raking in 100s of crores now. The last one touched 200 crore, so the channel wants to cash in. With Salman on board, they are able to find advertisers and title sponsors even at a very high rate, just because there is a perception in the market that Salman will guarantee sticky eyeballs. But sooner or later Salman's dream run will also end and then they will replace him with some other happening star of the moment.

I'll tell you how the tv industry is set up right now. The top 5-6 saleable stars & production houses of Bollywood have an elaborate network of friends & associates. Many of the tv channels top executives are close associates of these stars. To put it simply, they are on their pay rolls. So these top executives who are in charge of decision making in tv channels will buy movie rights at exorbitant prices even if it means causing a loss to their employers. They will make the channel pay huge amounts to these stars for hosting shows even though they could have got them cheap otherwise...Why? Because they get a cut in the payments they make to these stars. They help the stars in jacking up their market prices simply because they get a cut from the stars. These executives don't bother about incurring a loss to their employers as their own pockets will be full anyway. They also don't fear losing their job because the stars will then refuse to work with other people. So the corporate houses have to employ these corrupt executives, knowing fully that they are corrupt, just because of their proximity to the stars.

Many of the executives working in Indian tv channels were recommended for their positions by stars themselves...so they are naturally obliged to favour them. 😉

Like everywhere else in the country, it's the same sad story of corruption in the media.
