Today's episode was meant to be Anjali's swan song and her day to bask in the "acting" glory. It was also the day where the CVS attempted to redeem her character from all the hamming she has been subjecting us to.
Whats the verdict?
I did like Anjali in the episode today and yes, the CVs did redeem her for me. She has emerged as a stronger person and I liked her controlled reaction to the situation - very much like ASR - a female ASR - Anjali Singh Raizada. We always knew Di had strong reserves of power and today was one such day.
I also liked that the serial has stuck to its potrayal of strong women as opposed to doormats or princesses waiting for their knights to rescue them.

What was not upto the mark today was the execution. While yesterday was just brilliant, today was an editing nightmare! OMG - what was up with re-cycling ASR's expressions - why was he so blah today? Normally Barun emotes very well...but today he was very stoic and for that I will blame the direction and the editing...randomness I have to say. They need to start being consistent...it cant be that hard to get a bank of episodes going...come on now.

Now that Shyam has been done with temporarily (Yes I do believe he will be back for Khushi and Babuji this time) can we have some more Rabba Ve's ? I cant get tired of saying this...but please dont make Khushi look like a freaking rainbow...she looked drop dead gorgeous today...can we have more sarees for her...how about some Lucknowi kurtas??????? * head desk *

I read your post. Thought provoking indeed. Here is my response.

I was actually mad at Arnav after the kidnapping track when he refused to open his mouth when Shyam went on and on about Khushi's character. I know he avenged with a slap, but I thought that came too late. I felt that at that time he was most concerned about his di's devastation, and hence neglected to focus on Khushi.

However, today, I think things are different. It is clear that the entire family did believe Khushi then. She has got the love of the entire family. They participated wholeheartedly in their wedding ceremony, etc. Today, the focus was on Anjali. It was crucial for Arnav that Anjali herself throw Shyam out of their lives. When Shyam again maligned Khushi's character, it was not clear to Arnav whether Anjali would again fall for Shyam's sweet words. The slap from Anjali had not come till then, and she had just shrugged Arnav and Khushi, and walked away. He didn't need to defend Khushi today, because Khushi already had the support of the entire family. They already knew that Shyam is the culprit. They have already accepted Khushi for the gem she is. Had he defended Khushi today before Anjali took action, he would have again been responsible for taking matters in his own hands, instead of Anjali. It was crucial today that Arnav remain silent, coz, today Anjali and only Anjali should have been responsible for kicking Shyam out and that's what she did.

As for Arnav defending Khushi, he did support her when dadi tried to speak against her before she dropped the bombshell. He honored and respected her when he came late for their wedding. He proclaimed in front of everyone how much he loves her. I think people know Khushi's place in his life. I don't think he needed to say anything today.

Do I make sense??

I can bet you that if tomorrow someone points finger to Anjali, he won't think that his family supports her, so let's keep my mouth shut.

Why? Because that's his sister. Her honour is his family's honour.

But isn't a wife's honour a husband's honour? His family's honour? Why is she an outsider?

When someone you love is insulted you don't think who is there to support them, you go ahead and defend them.

Today Anjali had to kick Shyam out. He did not need to do that. But does not mean, he could not protest against the insult directed towards his wife.

It's funny. I'm married to a Canadian man. But he treats me like the true sense of the word "Ardhangini". He stands by me even if everyone is against me. Because he made vows to stand by my side.

The day, Indian men start to realize the true sense behind "Ardhangini" and Indian women start to demand their right as one, the story of Indian household will be entirely different.

Shyamu, darling...kitne chaante khaayega raja?????? Khushi ne maara...nahi sudhra, phir Arnav ne do lagaaye, phir bhi na badla...ab Rani Saahiba ne gift di hai...ab toh sudhar jaa....nah!!! humein nahi lagta tu sudhrega...tujhse, na sudharnewaali boo aati hai! Dekhte hain!

Yesterday, I was unhappy with Daljeet's performance...well she made up for it today.👏...at least she proved that she's ASR's sister, loved the way she tore off her mangalsutra, loved how she refused to ask for help from anyone, neither did she take any that was being offered.

Abhaas was good for me, but a tad bit extra in that delusional laugh scene, just before Anjali collapses..😕...that was defo overdone! Kya karen, Barun ki perfection ne aadatein bigaad di hain...baakiyon se acchhi acting ki umeed toh kar hi sakte hain!!! Liked it very much when he denies everything he said a moment back...100% nutcase! The expression of each person, at that point was brilliant, specially, Arnav's expression was like, "oh, come on now really!!!"🥱

Sanaya was brilliant,👏 but I fail to understand, what was the need for her to go & defend herself, when he badmouths her!!! That would actually have been detrimental to the situation. Also, why should she need to clarify when she has not done anything wrong...specially when her husband trusts her unconditionally!!!

Barun...OMG, what do I say, tum kab perfect nahi hote? How I wish, I had a brother like him...sheesh, for cryin' out loud...yikes, did I say that again..😡...mere dimaag mein definite kuch 'chemical locha' chal raha hai!!!! Seriously, he does not need any dialogue, any screen space, nothing...he just needs to be there, ujaala waise hi ho jaata hai! ☺️

Karan, the last two days luv, you've been perfect...I've luved NK. The expressions, the gait, the dialogue delivery, everything, perfect...Arnav ke bagal mein, thodisi jagah, humaare dil mein, bana hi rahe ho tum!!! 😳

Nani & Mami's shock at realising that Shyam used to come to meet Anjali...was done brilliantly by both actresses! 👏

BTW, roke pe pehna, sagai mein pehna, sangeet mein pehna, puja mein pehna, yahan tak ke haldi mein bhi pehna...phir aaj kahaan tha Khushi ka mangalsutra......NK ke saath drama karte-karte kuch locha to nahi huwa na...Khushiji, humaare ASR ko dhokha nahi dena...waise, actually dhokha de rahe ho toh bata dena, idhar IF mein kataar lagi hai, hum ASR ka swayamvar rachaa denge...sadu-turned-dilkhush raajkumar ko kayee saari ladkiyaan mil jaayengi!!!! 😆

I still think that today he needed to keep his mouth shut because Anjali had to make a decision. His speaking in between would have been a distraction. He couldn't afford that. The stakes were high. They still didn't know whether Anjali believed them or Shyam.

As for him defending Khushi in the future if need be, I think he will do it in the future.
Believe me, this di business for me is a huge turn off many times, but today, I understand where he came from. Shyam trying to malign Khushi was a last ditch attempt from his side to stay back in Shantivan. At that time, no one was taking him seriously. People were focused on Anjali to take action.

When I protested last time he kept his mouth shut and heard Khushi's honour being smirched, every phangurl said that he is confused. He does not know the whole truth yet.

Today, he knows the whole truth. What is his excuse for keeping his mouth shut? Why didn't he defend Khushi's honour today?

Why avenging her honour is not important to you?

Today again Khushi had to plead to Anjali to believe her. Why? Because again Arnav did not defend her honour. That scene made me cringe inside.

Khushi's honour is worth begging? Why does she had to beg to everyone to believe her every damn time?

Why Arnav never roars that, "Shut up. Don't you dare say a word against my wife. She is my pride and my belief. She does not need to justify anything for anyone."

But he didn't.

very well said 👏 i did not enjoy today's epi because ASR couldnt stand up for his wife, it's pathetic...feel sorry for khushi...i think we need a redemption track...ASR needs to start defending his wife...it shouldnt be all about his precious Di

Also, as for defending Khushi, the fact that he married her "after" all the accusations by Shyam, following all rasams which goes against his character, but something she believes in - isn't that the best way to defend/respect her? Shouting every time is not necessary. Sometimes, we also show our support through our actions.

My third most awaited slap on the show finally happened...thank God Anjali had the strength to face the challenge today...n yeah thanks to NK ji who was sensible enuf to call the cops :-)
