"Ur grandfather had a dream for me that I will be an IPS officer one day... But I couldn't fulfill this dream because I have other responsibilities now... I want you to fulfill the dream of your grandfather... And when you will be an IPS officer and will come with the cap of police nobody will be happy than me at that moment..."

These are the words written by Sandhya (If I am not wrong cause I saw the episode once) for her niece in that custom where bua writes something 4 niece... What some emotional lines are these... If somebody writes 4 me these with that emotional thoughts and inspiration, I couldn't think of being something else in my life... But frankly I was hurt to see that...

What if the child have another dream 4 her...!!! Why emotionally influence her from very early in her life??? I am not saying that if she wants to be something else her parents wont allow her... But wont it affect her mind that it was her grandfather's wish...!!! I wouldn't be hurt if somebody else would do this but Sandhya who is famous 4 her nayee soch, she could at least written na that hope all ur dreams u are gonna dream 4 you comes true...!!! Why to fulfill her dream through her niece??? Wasn't it little selfish??? I respect Sandhya so much, I have never respected any fictional character that much in my life... So may be a little fault from her hurts me...

I was remembering the movie three idiots where there is a message that do whatever you r good at...!!! Sandy's mind always think like a police so she cant be anything in her life I agree but why to dream 4 the kid and giving this emotional lecture to her yaar???? Was it only me or anybody else think that it was not a proper act by a nayee soch kirdar (character)???

P.S. I have no intention to bashing any character or the show... I was just discussing a act done by a character... I could write it to the frustration thread... But I might think wrong so wanted to know about ur opinions... 😊

Agreed with you. Even I never expected the way is going to come out. As per the custom it was suppose to mention what values one would like to bring up in a child , but cv has shown her writing all about her dreams..She should have written that may you fulfil your dreams & be whatever you want to be...Now the kid is so small that it wont understand & what granty that the chit will be kept safely so that when she grow up, she will know that her bua's& grandfather's dreams was to become IPS. The decision of her becoming IPS was her known & her father supported in it..

According to me it should have mentioned that all your dreams may come true & make your parents proud of YOU, although I may not be able to complete my parents dreams by becoming IPS

Shirin, what you have written is true. We cannot force our dreams/wishes on others but practically (or in my opinion), many of them do not have any serious dream or career choice. Many of them develop a liking for their parents' wish or many times parents might choose one suitable for their child.

I think she just expressed her wish.

I was hurt by mhari chhori's wish letter for her chutaki..😔.

We shouldn't force our dreams on anyone. Yeah we can take guidance from elders/teachers if we're confused to which path we should go for but I'm strictly against forcing policy..👎🏼..

When we try to fulfill our dream it'll become a driving force to live our life. No dreams No life.

these are just customs ok as u said she is nt inisisting the kid to become ips she said the dream which i cant fullfill can be dreamt thru u well sandhya herself carrying her parents dream well i see it as sandhya passing her nature of living for other people just think abt her acc to suraj tht pen was just gift from her parents but for sandhya its nt only pen its their dream tht not only dreamt but also lived with each and every moment at tht moment any girl would write such thing ... We know its just the custom which will reveal sandy dreams to suraj there s no other way to reveal her dream its nt selfish It was touching to see her writing something like tht everybody have expectations but its the kid have to decide abt her life sandhya also know tht at tht moment its needed for her to tell somebody abt her dreams thts also with her parents gifted pen well she must have thought atleast her pen can help to write her dreams which she cant fullfil at the moment i loved today episode.

I completely disagreeing tht sandhya forcing her dream
On the kid definetly not.

Ayeshi I agree completely with your thoughts and post here but I feel that we should give the writers some creative licence here because I think they are trying to get Sandy's dream revealed to Sooraj through that letter.

Although I agree that the writers could have done it in some other way and Sandy should have shown her open mindedness while writing that letter but her character has shown some contrasting traits in the past as well.

I also agree with coolmausam's post that mentioned

But then again with regards to the above statement - there would still be emotional pressure on that poor child to fulfill that dream inspite of her having a different dream of her own
