I love Odia films most: Namrata Thapa-TOI

It has been more than a year since you acted in Odia movies. So, what kept you away from the industry?
After 143 I love You I had been to Mumbai for other assignments. There were no offers from Ollywood. Maybe the producers and directors thought that I was growing old (laughs). However, I am back and hope my fans will be happy to see me again on the silver screen.
What made you return to Ollywood?
I always wanted to do Odia films. Though I have also acted in some Bengali and Bhojpuri movies, I enjoy acting in Odia movies the most. And now when this offer came my way, I agreed

Do you have friends in this industry, who kept in touch with you when you were away?
I was not regularly in touch with people here and there was hardly anyone in touch with me, unless required. However, I have a few good friends in the industry like Siddhant Mohapatra and his wife Mama Mishra. Bobby Mishra is also a very dear friend of mine.

Now that you are back in action, do you miss the attention you used to get when I Love You released?
I have never felt people have stopped loving me and I still have fans here. They still call me the "I Love You" girl and I am happy.

You have been acting in mega Hindi serials too. So, what excites you most ' acting in films or in TV shows?
I enjoy doing films most, as it gives me a wide scope for performances. In films, I get to play a variety of roles whereas in TV shows, the characters are more or less one-dimensional. Besides, people notice you more on the big screen.
Are you dating someone at the moment?
Right now, I am not seeing anyone. But I had dated someone in Odisha. At that time I was thinking of marrying him and settling down in Odisha. Mujhe bahut man tha ki main Odia bahu ban ke rahun. But I was badly hurt and felt cheated. I went into a severe depression for two years. However, I moved on thinking whatever happened, happened for good. Maybe God has planned something better for me.
Other than this film, what are the other projects you are working on?
My next serial is coming very soon on TV. I have not got any film offers yet.
