Dear fellow viewer & reader .. welcome to yet another edition of DC .. tonite before i start writing on this episode or a section of this episode .. it would be completely remiss of me not to salute the Director of the SHOW .. Mr. Lalit Mohan .. sir u were the magic ingredient missing in our show .. to say ur work was mindblowing tonite .. wud be an understatement .. the lighting of the whole episode ..the technicals .. the performance .. all shouted out ur brilliance ... a heartfelt thank you from all ardent fans of IPK .. for coming back to anchor our serial .. to captain our boat ..
This episode shud be landmarked by any Barun Sobti fan .. coz this was one of his Best performances till date .. the range of emotions he emoted ... are rarely seen on TV .. brilliant just doesnt do justice to him ..
Sanaya dont know which to applaud more ur great acting or ur absolutely stunning look .. kudos to ur stylist & make up team .. the doll look .. was just so bang on .. it really added to the whole shattered heart emotion u portrayed

tonite i was a voyeur peeking in from the outside
i sat on a bench in a darkened garden
i sat on a chair in an abandoned marriage hall
i saw a broken tie
i saw a broken family
i saw a shattered heart
through it all i sat with a tear in my eye ...
today the sister in me was right there with payal & anjali
today the daughter in me .. wanted to cry with the mothers .. garima & nani .. who were party to the devastation that was occuring in the lives of their loved ones
today the wife in me felt reassured by the support of Akash & shashi
today the mother in me .. wanted to sit with Khushi hold her hand & reassure her .. yes arnav will be here .. he will not abandon you ...
BUT tonite the woman in me .. was right there with Arnav .. the broken boy ... tonite the wife, daughter,sister, mother .. all avatars in me wanted to HUG him .. once again on the threshold of happiness .. he was rudely jolted ..
once again .. he was back in the cross roads ... where he had to make a choice between .. his devotion & his love ...

in a dark garden .. on an abandoned bench .. in the middle of nowhere sat a young man .. he clenched the seat of the bench he sat on .. like he was holding on to it .. holding on to his life .. holding on to his dream .. which was slowly slipping from his hands ...
in the back of his mind .. a voice reveberated .. a voice which said ...
" raith ki tarah aapke ungliyon ke beech se nikal jaayenge... aur mauka milte hi itni tezzi se bhagjayenge ke phir aap humein dhoond hi nahi payenge"
he was dressed in all the finery of a shaadi .. he was finally bringing his happiness home .. he was finally opening the curtains of his life to sunshine .. to him he was married .. he had already taken the vows ... when he told her " i love you dammit" .. but for that one smile he was willing to monkey up .. truss up .. but ... the shadows & darkness of his past .. once again reared its ugly head .. once again the darkness was trying to engulf him .. once again the pits of despair were cuffing him to itself .. when a voice called out to him ..
"hum aapka intezaar kar rahe hai .. kum se kum aap aaj ke din humein intezaar mat karwaiye"
he called out to her "khushi" he couldnt live his life without her .. his very existence was dependant on her .. he lived when she was with him ... he was a living corpse when she was away from him .. the pain of being away from her .. his anchor was something he had lived with .. the thought of her being wrenched away from him was anathema to him .. not something he could imagine .. suddenly as these thots swirled in his mind .. his own voice sounded in his heart .
"mat jao .. stay ... i know u cant stay .."
the fear of abandonment has always framed his nature .. his future .. the thot of loosing his loved ones kills him faster than a bullet to his heart .. he has loved & lost .. he had devoted his life to his sister .. devoted his life to a colourless existence when she came hurtling into his life .. spreading the joy of colours
the moments spent in a small ante room with her under her favourite stars .. kept flashing in his mind .. the feel of her lips .. kissing him on his forehead & cheeks could still be felt by him .. he could feel her perfume on him .. she was his .. but tonite he battled .. he battled his demons .. yes she was his .. but could he be hers .. could he take the final steps which would take him across the dark abyss of his past .. towards the beacon which was shining brightly on the other side ... the inner battle the inner war waged .. when the past slithered back .. made its presence felt ... tried pulling him back to the depths of the dark pit ... a voice beckoned the hounds of hell chased him ...
"iss ghar sansaar ko tabah karne waali "woh doosri aurat" jiske wajah se aapke amma aur babuji ne apni jaan de di .. 'woh doosri aurat' koi aur nahi garima hai "
the fires of hell now try to pull him tighter .. the inner demon .. the inner darkness tries to engulf him .. he gets up walks away .. but then turns back .. to look at what he was leaving behind .. tears flowing unchecked from his eyes .. the past had him in its clutches .. but the brightness of the future beckoned ... the despair of the past was casting its shadow where as the light from the future was guiding him .. his anger is building .. he wants to break free of the clutches ... his heart wants to smile .. while his mind is playing the sad tune .. the need to destroy ... a world which was hell bent on destroying him rises in him .. he breaks the benches lying by .. the inanimate testament to his devastation .. he throws the broken benches like he wanted to throw the darkness out of his life ..
then from within him .. a huge volcano errupts .. he screams .. he shouts .. yes he walked the steps to take blessings from GOD ... tonite .. once again that belief was wrenched .. there could be no superior power .. if there was .. his life would not be a shambles .. he screams at the universe ..the stars .. the whole "kaynaat" which .. was plotting to take away his KHushi from him ..
from the anger .. Asr rises .. the man with the iron control .. the man who was once more incharge of his destiny .. the man who wrote his own destiny .. he controls the boiling rage which was over flowing from him .. turns to take control of his life .. walks a few steps .. but then .. arnav .. knocks him down on his knees .. the little boy .. the "chotte" who loved & lost .. falls down on his knees & cries ... he cries for his mother .. he cries for a lost childhood .. he cries for all the times he wanted her hand on his head but missed it .. he cried for not being able to save her .. he breaks down .. she was HIS .. but could he today have the courage to become HERS ... ..
yes ... to rise in love .. one has to fall in love ... !!!!!!!!

each & every viewer of the show tonite .. would have left the seat gasping the episode was so captivating that on every break i wanted to pull the screen apart for a visual the visual to come back on screen ..
yes the performances were simply outstanding .. but then .. when u have a director on sets who knows his work .. his brief to his actors is bang on .. which helps them to rise above themselves ..
so tonite this part of the post is dedicated to Lalit Mohan the man who brought us the masterpiece tonite .. a technically brilliant episode ..
tonite there were 2 kinds of story telling on the sets of IPK .. one which was penned by the writers .. one which was penned by the director ..
the story was told to us with some incredible dialogues ..the scene was written extremely well .. but Lalits interpretation of the written word left one gasping .. so lets take a look .. the technical aspect told another story .. am going to touch up on shots which were totally brilliant to me ..
shot 1: the shot when dadi .. goes to douse the "havan kund" & khushi runs to stop her ..
This was between the 2 women .. the wide angle shot & top angle shot used here were incredibly brilliant .. look at this pic above .. u have the entire family looking on into the battle of wrong v/s right ... u have the wronged standing in judgement .. & the accused on the floor ... the whole tableau suspended ... the use of the fire flames errupting from the havan kund .. with dadi .standing over it .. .. Khushi in the background & the flames in the foreground .. was a superb shot .. simple cliched yes .. but told its story .. the tight shot .. just added to the brilliance & drama of the moment ..
the run of Khushi to the havan kund was so reminisent of "chandni" movie & Sridevi's run to the hotel lobby .. but this one to me was a fab attempt too ... the run the hold of the " urn of water" was very nicely taken ...
this shot rose in form for 3 reasons .. incredible camera work .. incredible editing of the shot .. wonderful BG .. & a stunning Sanaya
this was the shot .. for me .. Khushi .. holding on to the urn ..which dadi was trying to upturn on the havan kund .. & garima looking on in the background ... this shot told the entire story ... khushi will bear the brunt of the past sins .. she will try to protect not only garima but arnav & her relation .. while dadi was trying her best to douse the flames of their love ... with a helpless garima looking on towards the devastation she had caused ...
shot 2: khushi sitting in front of the havan kund while the flames flicker & finally douse ...


if a picture speaks a 1000 words .. i think the above just surpassed that count .. these pics spoke a million words .. this shot was pure poetry in motion .. to really enjoy the technical brilliance of this shot .. try watching it in slo mo .. or with pauses .. the wide angles .. the top angles .. the close shots .. all bore testament to the drama unfolding .. in between all this .. was the incredible performance of Sanaya .. the helplessness the desparation communicated what so many dialogues couldnt .. the editing & lighting in this scene was incredible .. the round trolley .. the jerky back motion of camera to the pan on faces were incredible works of art .. just added to the complete shattering of an innocent broken heart . this is how a director communicates .. this was Lalit's interpretation of the written word .. & boy was it outstanding .. yea a lot of u will say yep the shot taking was cliched .. but .. the scene demanded cliches .. the scene was a cliche .. so this is how u lift it .. loved that there were NO BIG BANG Bgs here .. the BGs was just so Raju Singh .. our regular drama BG .. nothing to take away from the moment .. but just added to the moment..
shot 3 : now for the sequence & shot for which i would watch this epsiode a gazillion times .. the entire arnav breaking down scene ( must confess this was my dream scene ... & gul & gang obliged me once again .. so thnx lovely lady )
if u've read my analysis above of this scene .. u know the explanation of it .. but look the scene in pics .. it speaks the same story .. but with a more deeper meaning ..
the first pic or shot that i liked here was the arnav turn around with the rainbow of blue light in the backdrop .. it looked like a painting to me .. now if u pause on the scene .. u will see his face is partially in the darkness ..
the second pic .. arnav getting up & shouting out his frustration to the universe the "kaynaat" .. look at the pic .. look at the shot .. see the lighting above .. the whole thing looks like the universe was looking down upon him .. the whole "kaynaat" was the proof of his devsatation .. it looked divine .. it looked etheral .. it was magial .. a technical picasso ..
the third pic ..the classic guru dutt lighting .. a shaft of light on arnav as he walks towards darkness ..gandhiji .. cud see ur touches in this episode after a long time .. welcome back on sets ..here gandhi spoke his version of the scene .. can u see .. arnav is being pulled by the darkness inside him .. he is walking away from it all .. when a shaft of light .. enlightens him .. he falls on the floor as "chotte"
the fourth pic .. this was "chotte" this was "arnavji" there cud've been no better way to shoot this shot than this .. brilliant .. poetry .. a painting .. a masterpiece ..
But the true brilliance of the Director & his crew .. came out in 2 thots last nite ..
One : the entire episode was shot in 2 forms .. there was the shaadi ka mandap .. fully lit up .. the colour full array of colours . the brightness .. & then there was Arnav scene .. a darkened garden .. a darkness surrounding him .. what better way to tell a story ... please read my note above .. yes KHUSHI was the brightness the colour in his life .. while .. the dark forces were pulling him engulfing him in its clutches .. but .. there was a light .. a blue hue which always surrounded him .. a celestial hue .. his mothers blessing .. his lovers love ... to me there was a guiding light .. that was guiding arnav to the right path .. while the darkness kept pulling him .. hats off to Hrishikesh gandhi ..
now if u link this to the first shaadi scene .. the middle of road breakdown of arnav ... there they used fire .. a fire was lit inside him .. that night a flame of anger of betrayal .. a fire raged inside him .. he wanted to burn & destroy .. so the shot was highlighted with a fire shot in the BG ..
tonite .. its a battle of love v/s devotion .. who to hurt .. the devotion for his mother .. or the love of his life .. his life was once again plunged in darkness .. but a celestial blue light .. a calming light .. a guiding light guided him kept pulling him on the right path .. the path of true love ...
Thot 2: there was a script tonite that was written .. some dialogues written .. some incredible shots taken .. but today the scene rose up to its height to its zenith .. with the incredible flashers of past used the flash backs .. if u read mine & ritzy's analysis u know .. each & every flashback .. spoke its story of love .. or pain of abandonment .. of trust .. of a promise .. the editing was incredible yes .. but .. the story telling here was simply mind blowing .. Lalit mohan .. sir u outdid urself tonite .. u shud landmark this episode as one of ur best works .
.. the episode no. 351 is my favorite episode of IPK .. simply cause have yet to see a full team come to the party in IPK .. in the manner that they came here .. kudos .. team IPK .. & thank you . for this gem .. a patient wait of 1.3 years was rewarded tonite ..
