This thought is bothering me from long time. What actually as viewers we want to see in KTLK? What we expect from it?
I know that apart from story approach, the characterization, environment setting, casting, direction and alot others also play role in making or breaking a great screen epic but I am not considering all those for this discussion. I am talking only about the story line approach.
Approach 1: There are huge differences and compatibility issues due the age gap of the couple. But the couple over comes it and solves the issues in a matured way... All lovey dovey always and they together get into problems because of situations and solve them.
In an ideal love story be it a tragedy or comedy, the coupe face problems by 3rd persons and they solve them together.
Basically there is a love story where Mallikas and others try to create problems but the couple staying together solves them by keeping their bond and trust in tact.
Approach 2: Where couple realizes that love is not the only essential thing in life but we have careers, family, money etc factors playing on our minds. Above all there are ego factors attached to individuals which can create havoc in lives... But the love they share helps them in mitigating this.
What we are seeing currently where the couple gets influenced by the external factors and drifts apart and succumbs to their own insecurities and egos.
What we have seen in DK is Approach 1 and it has become a classic. What we are seeing in KTLK is approach 2. I feel this is more realistic and is close to human lives.
This may look like rambling ... because I am confused on what I expect from KTLK... Do put your two cents on what you expect and what you see...
