That would be a scene to watch... Headstand and...

India has definitely gone to the dogs... Shouldn't they be worried about pulling out those mine workers instead of steering those metros to nearest stations? It isn't like those in the metros are at a risk, but those in mines are definitely...

Anyways, I started with the 2nd book in Shiva Trilogy. Anyone reading those?

Btw, Power crisis worked on my Mom too. She normally insists that every room's light be lit soon as its sundown, her shaam ka diya concept. Today, I finally convinced her that we should not switch on any light unnecessarily. Perhaps the thought of my sister trudging up 7 floors at night also had something to do with it.

Haha... I don't turn my lights on until I'm reading at night... I don't even turn on the brightness on my laptop screen. Somehow am allergic to light 😆

Ditto abt the lights wid me. I normally switch on lights or fan only in dire emergency.

Finished reading the two books on Shiva last month, normally don't start these series books till the entire series is out, but this time was travelling and had run out of reading material, so got them. They are good and a very innovative take on the entire Hindu Mythology thing.

Personally have always thought that the dragons slain by those knights must've been the last of the Dinosaurs.

Had an astrologer turn up at our house once - He suggested that one of the bedrooms be converted to the kitchen, the kitchen to be converted to the loo, the bathroom be converted to the store room, the third bedroom be totally destroyed and the entrance to the house changed to an opposite direction. Since we lived in the penthouse suite of a high-rise apartment, I only asked him how he was going to manage moving the stairs? and if he was looking at our flat or the lego house of his grandson. Don't know why Dad and the chap got greatly annoyed with me.

Yup, I got these books in Feb... but couldn't find time until a week ago. Finished the first one, now started with the second one today... But I take a lot of time... Somehow I am not able to read like I used to earlier where I'll finish the book in a go. Now I get distracted by something/someone or the other 😕

On the book, I loved all the references to mythological characters... Was always fascinated by the side stories of all those millions of characters in our epics, and this books refers to so many people that I try to google and read more if I find some material.

Ohh and how cute is Shiva... Dunno why they give the example of Ram-Sita as the ideal couple, when Shiva-Sayi are such a wonderful couple 😍

I am curious to see how KJo butchers this series though 😡

Ram and Sita have never been the ideal for me - esp. Ram. Could never reconcile to the fact that a man would send his pregnant wife to the forest instead of being a man supporting her. How can such a man be called the ideal?

Mom tells me that to this day people in Mithila don't get their daughters married to men from Ayodhya. Serves them right I say.

The explanations by Amish for the deformities and a possible tribal reaction to them sounded so logical to me. Have grown up reading mythological stories. With a mother who did her Ph.D in Hindu texts, it was kind of tough to escape that legacy. But yes I do end up googling most of the obscure references too.

I don't think Ram was an ideal husband, and I don't understand the huva around Krishna either... He conned the Kauravas' defeat. I mean technically speaking, he did throw around his tricks to save the Pandavas from the greater scholars/warriors of the day!

That book is in my wishlist.. and so many more which were referenced from SMJ forum.. I love books - obsession! Though am stuck at a novel (Irving Wallace - Chapman Report) was supposed to be a sex themed book with murder and thriller and am extremely pissed with the state it is in. The writing is good but it is SUPER SLOW.

@power failure: The power bought by Bhutan was for metros, hospitals and PM RESIDENCE. someone tell me WHY :|

@all the cakes and related talks: I am so going to ignore it but am salivating without checking the links. lol.

GTG Again

Searching for Sita is a 2-webpage article/fiction on this online magazine. It's not a book 😕

Haha, read 50 SoG if you want sex-themed thriller/book 😆
