Well... I think all of us are going by this phase or have gone by this phase where your mom or dad say NO TALKING TO BOYS. Most of us think at that time that what yaar.. why does my mom / my dad not understand that they are only my friends and nothing more than that. I've got two simple question one for us teenagers, and the second one for our parents. Do WE not try to understand why our parents don't want us to talk to boys?
Are our parents too harsh with this no talking to boys rule?
In my opinion, which might be a bit more inclined towards us teenagers cause I myself am one, I think parents should let us talk and hang out with guys as long as none of the girls cross their limits. Parents should trust the values that they have given to us and most importantly they should trust US, their children.
I understand that a mom or a dad can be worried about what their daughter might be doing while with her guy friends but if they themselves have given us good values then I think they shouldn't be worried as I think none of the teenagers would want to disappoint their parent even though they don't express themselves cause at this age ego and all that stuff is "important" so maybe they wouldn't tell their parents this little sentence : "mom, dad you can trust me" ... but believe me just telling them those little things can help a lot already.
I think if parents know our friends, if they've met them, if they've talked to them and they have an idea of what kind of person that friend is (a guy here as SG is dealing with this no boy/girl friendship track) then they probably will let their daughter hang out with that person as they will know who he is and the trust factor will be there even more.
I'm really glad SG is having this track cause it is every Pakistani/Indian girl's problem... wether their parents will allow them to have guy friends... if they will let them hang out with those guy friends.
What I also love is that Mumma and Puppa Guggal's point of view is correctly shown in the show as well as Suvreen's.
PS. I am just loving Annie-Naro-Suvreen-Yuvi-Rathi-Mannu's friendship.. This little gang is just sooo cute đ
