For all those people who think Anjali is suffering and her behavior is justified.. read this.. isn't this how you would expect her to react, given she loves her family, especially her Chotte!
I have been wanting to write this OS for a while, ever since I realized that Anjali might be the reason why Arshi wont be able to be happy together in the future! I knew the CVs would make her mean and selfish. Why do they have to make everything so sad and melodramatic.. Anjali the loving sister, who dotes on her little brother, suddenly doesn't care that he doesn't eat food, that he doesn't take his medicines; she is punishing him! Yes, I know she is suffering, but if you truly love your family, you will not take it out on them! You will suffer quietly, and try not to worry, because you know if you worry, your loved ones will worry more!

Story starts from Arnav-Anjali scene on 10th July, 2012, when Arnav goes into Anjali's room and says "Toffee se meethi hain..."
********
"Di, please", Arnav begged, a piece of roti in his hand. "Please eat a little, for my sake." Anjali walked away and sat on the bed, facing away from him. Arnav's eyes filled up with tears; he placed the tray on the table and turned around to walk out of the room. "Pappad ka tukda hain.. " Arnav stopped when he heard Anjali's voice; her voice soft and breaking. "Jab dekho ukda hain", a smile appeared on Arnav's face. He turned around to see Anjali still facing away from him. Then she turned around, tears rolling down her cheeks, "Deta hai apne di ko aasoon mote mote". She made a pouty face, "woh hai gusse waala", she stretched her arms, "hamara chotte". Arnav smiled and ran to Anjali and hugged her. Khushi was standing outside the room, tears rolled down her cheeks hearing this. She smiled, said a silent prayer to Devi Maiyya, wiped her tears and walked away.
Arnav took Anjali's hands in his, "Di, I'm sorry. Whatever I did, I did it for you, for your baby. Di, please .. please believe me." Anjali tried hard to smile, tears still rolling down her cheeks. Tears rolled down Arnav's face; Anjali wiped his tears and shook her head. "Chotte, have you eaten anything?" Arnav shook his head, "How can I eat when my Di hasn't eaten anything?" Anjali smiled and took the plate from the table. She took the piece of roti and put it in her mouth. "See, I started eating. Now it's your turn." She broke off a piece of roti, dipped it in curry and fed Arnav. "Di.." he started saying, while they were eating. Anjali interrupted him, "Chotte, I don't want to talk about it. In fact, I don't want anyone to talk about it any more. I need time to get over it, give me some time, Chotte. I just want everything to be normal, everyone to act normal around me. I don't want anyone's sympathy. The last thing I need right now is someone telling me that everything is fine, when I know it isn't. But it will be, with time. Please tell everyone to act normal around me, if they want to help me get over what happened. Can you do that for me, Chotte?" Arnav nodded, and Anjali smiled, "Good. Why don't you go to the dining room? I will join you in a bit. We can eat with the family, ok?" Arnav smiled and hugged Anjali. Anjali hugged him back. Arnav stood up and walked away.
Anjali got up from the bed and turned around to look at the picture of Shyam and her. "Why? Why did you do this to me? What did I ever do to deserve this? Was I not a good wife? Did I not love and care for you?" She asked, angrily, tears rolling down her cheeks. She walked to the wall and took the picture in her hands. She looked at it and continued, "I did. I know I did." She placed it on the bed and wiped her tears away. "I was a good wife and whatever happened was your fault. Why am I crying for you? Why am I wasting my time and ruining my health worrying about our relationship, when what we shared.. all of it.. It was all just a lie." She paused and tears rolled down her cheeks. "But... but I loved you ... with all my heart and soul ... I still love you. I love you so much that it hurts. How could you do this to me? How could you... how will I live without you?" She burst into tears. After sometime, Anjali wiped her tears and looked angrily at the photograph. "No, I will not cry anymore. You don't deserve my tears. You don't deserve anything. But our.. " Anjali touched her tummy, "no, my baby, she needs my love. If I'm upset, then it will hurt her. I have cried enough. Now no more tears, Anjali, for your sake, for your baby's sake." Anjali stood up, walked to the wardrobe, picked up a cardboard carton, threw Shyam's clothes and accessories into it. She opened a drawer, picked up her wedding album; tears rolled down her face as old memories, moments spent with Shyam, flashed in her mind. She shook her head, threw the album in the carton and walked back to the bed. She picked up the photograph from the bed and threw it into the carton and closed the carton. Tears ran down her cheeks, but she wiped it away and took a deep breath.
Arnav walked to the dining room, with a smile on his face. Nani, Mami, Payal and Akash were at the table, staring at the food without eating. They looked up as Arnav walked in. Nani, seeing his smile, asked, "Chotte, Anjali bitiya?" Arnav sat down and said with a smile on his face, "Di will be joining us soon, Nani". Nani smiled, a tear escaped her eye; she closed her eyes in silent prayer. "But Nani, she has said that no one should talk about what happened. She doesn't want to discuss it anymore. She said she wanted no one's sympathy. So lets just keep it that way." Mami said, "Thank god, Anjali bitiya is fine. Yes, yes, Arnav bitwa, we will not talk about.. " She stopped and looked up as Khushi walked in with a plate of rotis. Arnav turned to look over his shoulder, following Manorama's gaze. He saw Khushi and then looked back at Manorama and Nani. "Khushi bitiya, maybe you should take your food and eat it in your room." Nani said, "Please.. Anjali wants to join us at the table." Khushi nodded, took her plate and started filling food on the plate. Arnav took her wrist in his hand and turned to Nani, "Nani, let Khushi stay. Di wants things to be normal. I'm sure she will be fine with.." "No, Chotte. She doesn't want to remember the incident, but if she sees Khushi, she will. It is better this way, at least until she gets over what happened." Arnav looked at Khushi and his heart shattered seeing the blank expression on Khushi's face; he knew she was hiding her pain, but he could feel her pain. Khushi looked at Arnav and gave a slight smile, closing her eyes gently as if telling him she was fine. She took the plate and walked up the stairs.
"Nice! Roti and aloo matter. That looks so good". Anjali said, as she sat down next to Arnav. She looked at Manorama and smiled, "Mami, I love that necklace", Anjali smiled. Manorama smiled, tears in her eyes. "Nani, you know what.. I think we should go shopping for the baby today. Would you like to come with me?" Nani smiled and nodded. Arnav's eyes filled with tears. Nani asked, "Anjali bitiya, I am going to the temple today. We can go to the temple first and then go shopping after that?" Anjali's face became serious. She looked down at the food, her eyes filled with anger. "No, Nani. I don't want to go to the temple. After all the time I spent doing poojas and visiting temples, look at what happened. What good did all that bring to our family? Please dont expect me to go back to the God who is making me suffer. I don't deserve this.. why did God.. " Anjali stopped; Arnav started to put his arm around Anjali, when suddenly Anjali broke off the roti and said with a smile, "This is so delicious. Khushiji makes such good food." Anjali closed her eyes, enjoying the food as she put the roti and curry in her mouth. She opened her eyes and looked around, "Where is Khushiji?" Arnav looked at Nani. "Khushi wasn't feeling well, so she is eating in her room." Payal said, sternly; the anger in her voice was unmistakable. Anjali looked at Arnav, "Chotte, and you are here? Don't you care about your wife? How can you let her sit and eat alone? Go, go eat with her, Chotte." Arnav shook his head, "It's ok, Di. I will eat with you." Anjali smiled and touched his face. "Chotte, no, I am fine. What did I tell you earlier? I will be fine. Khushi needs you too. After what she has been through," Anjali's eyes teared up, as she touched the wound on Arnav's face. "after what you have been through. Chotte, I cant believe that you were kidnapped and you .." Tears streamed down her cheeks. "Di, please.. please I am fine. Don't cry Di. I just want you to be happy". Anjali nodded and said, "and I am now that you are here, with me. You know what. I will come with you, why don't we go see Khushiji, see if she is feeling better." She stood up, and took the plate in her hands, when Nani said, "No Anjali bitiya, I think you should eat here." Anjali raised her eyebrows, "Why Nani?" Nani looked uncomfortable and Anjali shook her head. "So I guessed right. Did you ask Khushi to avoid me, Nani? Why? What happened is not her fault. So why are you blaming her? Why are you asking her to be away from Chotte? We should be thanking her, for what she did. She remained quiet and suffered so that I could be happy. She even saved Chotte's life and why is she being punished?" Anjali took her plate, turned around and started walking towards the stairs. Arnav stood up, looked angrily at Nani and ran to help Anjali walk to his room.
Anjali knocked on the door; Arnav looked around, there was no one in the room. The plate of food was on the table next to the recliner. They walked into the room and Anjali looked towards the poolside; Khushi was sitting on the poolside recliner. Anjali gave Arnav her plate and walked towards the recliner. She put her hand on Khushi's shoulder; Khushi turned around; her eyes were red, tears streaming down her cheeks. She raised her eyebrows, stood up and hugged Anjali, crying her heart out. Arnav's eyes filled with tears. Anjali put her arms around Khushi. Khushi said, sobbing, "Di, I'm sorry. It was all my fault. I should never have come into your life. I am the reason.. " Anjali pulled away and shook her head. "I am glad you came into my life, Khushiji. You gave my Chotte back to me; you brought khushi back in Chotte's life, what else could I ask for". She wiped Khushi's tears and shook her head. "Khushiji, please don't cry." She looked over her shoulder at Arnav, "Chotte, Khushiji, now I want you both to sit here and feed each other this food, ok?" Khushi and Arnav looked at each other. "Did you hear me?" Anjali continued. Arnav looked at Anjali and shook his head, "Di, you should eat.." Anjali smiled, "Yes, yes, Chotte, I will eat. But I want you to eat with Khushiji, ok? I will go down and eat with the others." Anjali turned to look at Khushi, who was still crying. Anjali shook her head and touched Khushi's face and kissed her forehead. "No Khushiji, please.. please don't worry. I am fine, and whatever happened is not your fault. I want you to know that." Anjali smiled and touched Khushi's arm. "Khushiji, I just remembered. Nani and I are going shopping for the baby today, do you want to come with us? It will be so much fun. Maybe, we should buy some stuff for you too.." she looked at Arnav and giggled, "you never know, maybe you both will need baby stuff soon too." Khushi blushed and looked at Arnav; Arnav smiled. Anjali smiled seeing smiles on Arnav and Khushi's faces. She said, "Ok, ok, now you both eat. I'm hungry, so is the baby. Let me go down and eat." Anjali smiled, turned around and walked out of the room, closing the door behind her. Khushi looked at Arnav, tears in her eyes; tears rolled down her cheeks, as she crashed into his chest and put her arms around him. Arnav placed the plate on the table and hugged her back, smiling.
Anjali closed the door and turned around. Tears streamed down her cheeks. She closed her eyes. Anjali, you need to be strong. If you are sad, everyone around you will be sad. No, you need to pull yourself out of this. Keep yourself busy, surround yourself with your loved ones, keep your mind off your past, think about your future, about your baby. Try to be happy for your sake, for your baby and for everyone else. Yes, Anjali, you are strong, you can do it!"
