Favorite Scene
Khushi follows Arnav to the stairs where he is sitting alone in the dark and stays with him.
Arnav & Khushi
Arnav is trying to be there for both Khushi and Anjali. At one time, while doing something like this, Arnav would have been alone. But now, even though he feels he's put his wife to sleep, she is awake to his situation.
If Arnav cannot sleep, neither would Khushi. Perhaps, this night could've been a happier one, where they'd have celebrated Arnav's rescue from sure death. The least bit of comfort is that they're together. Yet, Arnav is so burdened with his sister's grief that he cannot enjoy this time with his wife.
The first time they are in their room closest to knowing and accepting each other as husband and wife. There is unity, understanding, and trust. But they cannot enjoy a moment of it together. For all the 15 days that Khushi spent waiting for Arnav to be back and that Arnav spent longing to be with Khushi ' have seemed to become a forgotten past.
Just the previous night, Arnav had declared that he'd escape the kidnappers. Just the previous night, Khushi had made Shyam speak out his password, and planned to make him sign property papers. Just a night before they had been so focused on each other. And now, again a multitude of problems are between them.
Arnav's Support System
Arnav is ridden with memories of his sister being with him always, and how she now pushed him out.
But now that Anjali has pushed him out, she has unknowingly made way for Khushi to step into the place that Arnav reserved for Anjali - his support system. Though Arnav rarely shared his problems with his sister, she was his support.
Arnav is now letting Khushi into that place - he not only shares his problems with Khushi, he knows she understands them without him having to tell her anything. He knows she can decode his expressions, his unspoken feelings, and even his heartbeat.
When Khushi comes to sit with Arnav on the dark stairs, for a moment it seemed that Arnav wanted to tell her to leave. It seemed that when she looked up at him she too silently asked if he was okay with her being there, or if she should leave. Arnav read the scared and anxious question in her eyes, and answered it by holding her hand. She stays put with him and he eventually gives in and allows her in those dark places where he's not allowed anyone.
When she brings him the medicine, Arnav quietly takes it. He does not argue with her. He does not cut her off. He does not tell her off. The chap who obeyed only Anjali, now obeys Khushi as easily.
Comfort for Care-givers
Khushi is still the only comfort in his life. Arnav and Khushi have always been care-givers. The only care they have found is in each other.
When Khushi was most in need of someone, all she had was Arnav. Whether he was rude or pretending indifference, he was around. She could vent out on him and on some occasions, he'd forget that she was enemy and did show her care. Even back then, when Arnav needed Khushi, she was there for him. They hurt one another, but they were around when the other needed them.
Now, when Arnav is in need of someone, he has Khushi with her. She does not leave him alone. She cannot pretend to sleep if Arnav is sitting alone in the dark. Earlier their care was always hidden under a pretense, now it is a known and accepted fact.
It's not just comfort; he finds her his equal in his games and pranks as well.
What reminded him of the little game he played with Khushi, I'm not certain, but it did manage to bring a smile on their face. Hope the smile gets wider tomorrow.
The Misunderstanding: As Per ASR
"I just made one mistake by not trusting what Khushi said. I thought she was with Shyam and I made the biggest mistake of my life. But that was only a misunderstanding."
'Only' a misunderstanding? Ah! Aren't you being a bit modest, Arnav?
In a literal sense, ASR nearly run her over with the jeep that he was driving; so much so that the tire of the jeep nearly grazed her head.
Anyhow! Arnav stood by Khushi and declared repeatedly that he trusts Khushi completely. He is not just saying it; he is showing it too. But does that bring back Khushi's lost respect? She still has a lot of 'ills' to her name - the worst being that she was perhaps involved with Shyam.
Arnav has disclosed the fact that he misunderstood Khushi. But he hasn't revealed what he did as a result of his misunderstanding. He only stated that he made a mistake - and that can be construed to mean that the misunderstanding was his only mistake.
Arnav has not unmasked himself. He has not accepted what he did to Khushi. He did not make it apparent that his marriage with Khushi was a result of his misunderstanding. The way it may have sounded to anyone who heard Arnav's explanation could be that initially Arnav misunderstood Khushi but then he believed her and married her. Nowhere did Arnav state that only now in the past 15 days, was his misunderstanding cleared, for which Khushi literally ended up losing her life.
Is the Truth Out?
The truth is out, but only partial.
Nani has only partial knowledge of the truth. She does believe that Shyam was the culprit, but she has no clue what both Arnav and Khushi had to go through because of what Shyam did.
Nani asked Khushi to keep away from Anjali. This would effectively keep her away from most family members, as most of them would want to see Anjali back to normal as soon as possible. As far as Khushi is concerned, Shyam is still very much a part of RM and is still keeping her bound and gagged.
Arnav didn't like it at all when Nani asked Khushi to stay away from Anjali and when Khushi accepted. He hated it that Khushi was asked to sacrifice. He has remained quiet again for Anjali's sake.
As Arnav has not revealed everything, the 6 month contract is known to no one except Arnav and Khushi. It is still kept under wraps.
The way Arnav spoke to Nani about his misunderstanding and his mistake, it seemed as if he's forgotten about the 6 month contract binding. Has he?
Shyam
Shyam has escaped. Yes, he has escaped, by the hand of Arnav himself, who let him go for his sister's sake. But Shyam has take with himself many unsaid secrets: Why and how Arnav married Khushi? How Arnav treated Khushi in the initial days of their wedding? That till the days of Kidnapping Arnav still did not trust Khushi. The papers Khushi signed are still undiscovered.
Shyam may be out of RM, but he still holds Anjali directly and Khushi indirectly under his sway. He is still very much present even in his absence.
Anjali
Anjali has taken out her simple saris. The make-up is very minimal. The number of bangles on her hands is limited to perhaps 2 or 3.
She refuses to look at Arnav. She refuses to talk to him or reply to their childhood poem. She refuses to eat, even when he says that it is for his sake.
Anjali pretends to be asleep when Khushi comes to check on her. She is cutting herself off from both Arnav and Khushi - as though she holds them both responsible for whatever happened.
Nani has asked Khushi to stay away from Anjali till she overcomes the shock and the trauma. This means that while Khushi keeps herself away, Arnav will be free to pacify his sister. Might it be then that Anjali may come around to forgiving Arnav, but not Khushi?
Others
1. LOVED how Nani comforted both Anjali and Arnav, and even Khushi.
2. I LOVE the fact that Nani saw Khushi's care for Anjali, Khushi love for Arnav, and Khushi's sacrifice for the Raizadas.
She's asked Khushi to keep away from Anjali, which effectively translates to staying away from everyone at RM, except maybe Arnav, Laxmi and HP.
I wonder with the way Akash is behaving if Payal will gear up enough courage to stand beside Khushi.
(Can you believe it? My Mum asked me this morning - What will become of Khushi now? And I had to pacify her with - "Arnav trusts her. Payal trusts her. NK trusts her. And Nani also does, it seems." Once she heard that, she looked a bit calmed.)
3. Okay Akash seriously thinks that if Payal had confided in him, the situation would have been different.
Well, Akash the situation between you and Payal may have been different, but the situation per se would not be very far from what it is now.
On the Lighter Side
1. It was a bit funny: she ordered him as a wife, and he obeyed with a 'Yes, dear!'
Arnav, Buddy, you never could stand up to her when she got around to ordering you. Remember, when you had passed out and she insisted on tucking you in? You were pretty angry back then, but when the wife showed what she was made of, you had to concede a "Yes, dear!'.
2. I still can't get my mind around an Akash in a pink shirt, sitting on a pink bed in a pink room!! Never seen a man more pink!
3. Fandom, rejoice!! Arnav is back in his vest, his bluetooth and i think we're missing his laptop.
Precap
And Arnav saved the dialog of the day for the Precap. Nutter, I tell ya!!
He's telling her to stop drawing back from him and walk ahead with him. Walk ahead with till when - 2 more months?
Mr SmartyPants! She has always walked ahead of you! And she is till ahead of you. It is you who follow her around. You need to catch up with her. I'm sure you will one day, but then she might have to stop walking for you to make up the difference. ;>
