I am posting this on behalf of my mom...she has complex about her written english...I have been coralled to help her post this
Her main thesis is that Rishi was the voice of audience in Indira's life...
...he spoke on our behalf when we wanted to tell Indira to leave the her garb of Hitler...
...when he told her that she wears it as a security blanket to hide from hurt, life etc, it was us through him...
...when he encouraged her to encourage Munna and Sunaina to become more responsible, it was us through him...
...when he came to her aid when Ishaan was missing, or Inder needed care, or when she was falsely arrested etc, it was also us through him...
...when he encouraged HBitler to be Indira, it was us through him...
...when she fell in love and he with her, we the audience also fell in love with them
...when she fell in love and he with her, we the audience also fell in love with them
...Oh what joy it was when she laughed...even though the track was all rushed
But the audience lost connection with both Rishi and through Rishi, lost connection to speak to Indira when Rishi was kidnapped and the new, hapless, lazy, drunkard rishi emerged.
The gentling effect he had on Indira...and through him the audience had on Indira was lost. We had bitter, shrew, uni-dimensional Indira.
This turn in the serial was the death knell for audience's connection with the story...an unwarranted self-inflicted wound by the creators of the serial
