Shahid Kapoor born February 25, 1981 in Mumbai, India is a Bollywood actor and model.

Personal

Kapoor was born in Mumbai to film and television actors Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem who divorced when he was three. He lived with his mother. He studied dancing with Shiamak Davar and did extra roles, starred in music videos and commercials. His stepbrother is Ishaan Kapoor whom he acted with in Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi, while his stepmother is Supriya Pathak. Currently, he is romantically linked with Kareena Kapoor.

Career

His debut film Ishq Vishk was a success. He received the Filmfare Award 2003 in the Debut category for his performance along with the same award from the Star Screen Awards and the Zee Cine Awards. In 2004, he starred in two more films: Fida, a thriller co-starring his current girlfriend Kareena Kapoor and Fardeen Khan as well as Dil Maange More, a romantic comedy alongside Soha Ali Khan, Tulip Joshi, and Ayesha Takia. Both films bombed at the box office, but Kapoor received positive reviews for his performances. His latest films Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi and Shikhar failed to do well at the box office but his performances was praised. He received a Screen Best Actor Nomination for his work in Shikhar.

He will next be seen in 2006 in the films Milenge Milenge, Chup Chup Ke, and 36 China Town with Kareena Kapoor, Vivaah with Amrita Rao, and Fool and Final with Ayesha Takia

Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor, nicknamed "Bebo" (born September 21, 1980 in Mumbai, India) is a Bollywood actress. She is part of the famous Kapoor family.

Family background

Kareena Kapoor is the daughter of Randhir Kapoor and Babita, who divorced when she was still young. Rishi Kapoor is one of her uncles. Her sister, Karisma Kapoor, is also an actress. Her other relatives include maternal aunt Sadhana, and cousins Shivani Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Nikhil Nanda who is currently married to Shweta Bachchan-Nanda who is the daughter of Amitabh Bachchan.

Biography

Early life

When she was younger she would frequently accompany her sister to film shoots. Though born into a film family, Kareena at first wanted to become a lawyer. She attended Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and then went to Welham Girl's Boarding School in Dehradun. She returned to Mumbai to attend Mithibai College where she did her commerce.

She went to Harvard for summer school and while she was there she took a course in microcomputers and information technology. Set on pursuing a acting career, she completed her twelth standard and joined the film industry [1]. She also attended the Kishore Namit Kapoor acting school.

Career

Her first movie was J. P. Dutta's 2000 film Refugee opposite Abhishek Bachchan. Though the film did not do well her performance was praised. She also received her first Filmfare Award in the Best Debut category. Her first major success in a starring role was in the 2001 film Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai.

Her other notable roles include "Pooja" in the inter-generational melodrama Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham (2001), "Kaurwaki" in Asoka (2001), the title role in Chameli (2003), in which she plays a prostitute, a manipulative villain in Fida (2004) and a riot victim in Dev (2004), for which she won the Filmfare Critics Award Best Performance.

Controversies

• It is said that a passerby with a camera phone filmed Kareena kissing her boyfriend Shahid Kapoor at a restaurant named Rain, located in the Juhu area of Mumbai and released the video. However, the source of this video is not yet confirmed. A Mumbai newspaper (Midday) published stills from the video. Kareena and Shahid at first denied that they were in the pictures and the video, but later reversed their statements and complained of an invasion of privacy. ^{[citation needed]}

His debut film was a hit. But Shahid Kapoor is treading the Bollywood waters cautiously, doing two films at a time. The son of Pankaj Kapoor, he has been hailed as a star in the making, thanks to his acting and dancing abilities. And he is also enjoying a "very special friendship" with heroine Kareena Kapoor. "Both of us are looking at a permanent relationship. Neither of us is frivolous. Hopefully, (we will have) a long and fruitful future," Shahid told in an interview. How special is your friendship with Kareena Kapoor? Very, very special. I think she's the best thing to have happened in my life in the last few years - I know I don't have that many years behind me, but enough to know when something special happens. She's one of the nicest human beings I've met. I know her for seven months. And I know her as someone who speaks her mind. And that's why some of her colleagues get a chance to lash out at her. But I like her for her frankness. One can always trust upfront people. The two of you are very contrasting people. Well she's temperamental and I'm quite calm. I think that's one of the reasons we get along. Actually we both find qualities in one another that we don't in ourselves possess. And I think we are able to bring out those qualities in each other, that's very important. I enjoyed coming in touch with my impulsive side through her. I'm not an introvert.
