People r disappointed about Papaji's puzzle act and conversation which confused every one... People find it too irrelevant or illogical and not so convincingly and realistically put forte... Here is my humble effort to justify those act...
Mohan wasn't in good book of papaji untill Amar case being solved... Now papaji likes him that's why he came to meet him in hospital...Now as there not so much interaction between papaji and Mohan surely both of them feel this situation kinda uncomfortable and they were both busy to find a way to make and carry on conversation... Now being a insurance agent papji quickly got a way to start and continue conversation... He found Mohan stays alone and actually doesn't have anybody like father figure who can show him the right way during difficult situation like he is in now... So ved ji tries to take that position and give some help and advices which will be helpful for him within Ved's capability... Ved know how much Mohan did for his family and being kind hearted and "kuddar" person he is eager to give back some return to Mohan within his limited capability...Now at this condition only he can do to make an offer to share the nurshing home bill and when Mohan reject it he decided to give him some financial planning which can be helpful in future... This is quite common for a LIC agent... Because this is the only way he can help Mohan that's why he is asking all those details... u may asked is that logical to ask when he is bed????? Yes agree with u... And this looked odd and weird even in the eyes of Mohan also, we have heard his remark after Ved has left... Actually this way CVs r trying to show that in that situation when people r searching some route to start convo they subconsciously choose the way which he is habituated with, comfortable with... same thing happened here also... ved tries to initiate talks with Mohan and that's why he started with those policy wala thing because it was his working zone... And also doing some help for Mohan was also in his mind so when he found that Mohan's life is always in the verge of danger due his crime reporter job only thing ved can do for him from his current occupation is to make a good LIC policy for which in case he got wounded or in case of life risk he will get a good support from it because ved knows mohan doesn't have good relation and for that he tries to solve some kind of support for her well being...We see papaji was talking to himself that he wont take any commission for this and he is so eager do at least this small help for Mohan tah's why he even went to show this to Indu...This clearly shows that papaji is doing policy wala act even in this situation just from the eagerness of helping Mohan and nothing else... So in this context I think papaji's act was not horrible or illogical...
