MY journey with Arnav Khushi

October 27^th 2011 a little after 8 pm EST. I was sitting down with my usual post dinner work in our family room while my mother in law was engrossed in her usual Indian prime time drama. I caught a vision of a guy in maroon/burgundy vest in a very smart haircut; wearing a Bluetooth walking in a room talking with someone over the phone. I was intrigued. No offence, but hardly you see smartly dressed men in Indian telly. And then came the scene that literally blew me away to an otherwise new territory: him blowing into her eye to get the dirt out.

It was such a simple yet amazing scene where the chemistry between the duo was just crackling. I fell hook, line and sinker for them. I had to, had to find out what their story was. It was a Thursday. I stayed up the next 48 hrs and the whole of Sunday and caught up on all the Arnav Khushi love scenes and was up to date come Monday. It's a crazy behavior for someone who is in the business of Analytics who always believe there is an algorithm for everything, someone who hardly watches TV other than sports/movies/late night comedy. But I've not regretted one bit of my journey with these two. As they bring in my life something I've never done before: take 20 mins daily for myself just myself .no interference. My husband thinks it's an obsession, my daughter thinks Mommy has lost it when she hears me giggling with my best friend over the phone about some scene. I know beside other factors, it's my delectable caramel chocolate addiction.

So a big thank you IPKKND and the whole team who work so hard to bring something so dear to my heart 5 days a week. When the track takes detour sometimes, I still trust them to resume the journey back to the path of love between Arnav and Khushi...because I believe in the journey; destination matters only when the journey was worth it!

I never got hooked to any serial before. This is the only show I watch. My journey started on Teej episode when I was surfing the channels and suddenly got hooked to the eyes of a man in dark suit with a phone in hand looking very intently and passionately at a girl in saree. That day I just got hooked to their chemistry and great Arnav Singh Raizaada. For me he is an epic character and KKG is full of optimism. I spent whole night to watch all the previous episode and after that there was no stopping. They have wonderful star cast. Each one of them at their best including our dear laxmiji😳

Thanks to Gul, SP and CVs and entire cast of IPKKND for bringing us such a wonderful show and also bringing such a wonderful crooner buddies whom I will cherish my entire life. Hope this show continues for years and years😳

Thanks buddies for bearing all my stupid gaanas. I know only gaana gaaying...can't write wonderfully like most of you.

Happy 1st Anniversary IPKKND

Actually I was a late starter. I started watching IPKKND some time in September. Khushi Kumari Gupta was the reason I continued watching. Beautiful, brave and bubbly! And on top of that loves jalebi. Arnav took some time to grow on me. After a long time a fictional character had me looking forward towards waiting for one episode after another. Now every day I watch this serial religiously.

Khushi and Arnav are the face of IPKKND but they are perfectly complimented by the superb cast from Nani to Laxmi, classic love story, zara hatke screenplay and strong direction.

Congratulations to every one who is associated with this amazing serial and who watches it, for achieving this milestone.

I just don't know what to write about this serial - it's like a blank slate the minute I start, but when I'm done, I have so much written that I'm sure people fall asleep reading my posts! That's the magic spell that this serial has woven on me! I've also written most of my thoughts in the writeup, so will preserve this space for the serious gushing about some people!

Arnav Singh Raizada - Barun Sobti: The two names have become synonymous now. Read my words - there is NO ONE else who could play Arnav Singh Raizada like you do, Mr. Sobti. The sheer intelligence that ticks behind your eyes shows us the brain that represents ASR. The way your face can change emotions in a second portray the heart, the Arnav behind ASR. The muscles and brawn are so hot! But it's the entire package put together that we love - Mr. Perfect ho ya Mr. Right, we just love you as Arnav Singh Raizada! And trust me, I've never had such a huge crush on a guy from a Hindi serial - you are just amazing whether it's offscreen or onscreen! No wonder my brains are so scrambled everytime I see you!

Yeh roop aur yeh rangat, yeh chaal aur yeh nazakat, kaisi hai yeh qayamat, ab koi kya kahe...

Khushi Kumari Gupta (Singh Raizada) - Sanaya Irani: Just the way there can be no other Arnav, there can be no other Khushi too. Sanaya Irani, what a job you do as Khushi. The changing emotions of a girl who is dealing with life is just portrayed with such grace, elegance and poignance. This is why everyone of every age is so completely in love with this character. A new age heroine unlike any other ever, played by an actress who has completely made this role her own! I keep saying also that I'm completely in love with Sanaya the person - again both onscreen and offscreen she's just too awesome for words!

Barun & Sanaya: Never, ever have I seen a friendship like this between two leads of a TV show (touch wood). Nothing can ever come close to the offscreen interviews of these two - such epic moments. I must confess I do end up watching reruns of their offscreen interviews even more than I rewatch show moments sometimes. God bless them and the destiny that brought them to our TV screens in these roles. And touch wood, I hope their friendship is preserved forever!

Hai dhoop sa woh agar, woh chandni raat si hai...

Arnav & Khushi: What do I even say about them? I have never seen such a couple in my life. The balance between the two characters is excellent. But the real beauty of these characters actually lies in the fact that they are both not perfect - they have flaws, and that's what makes them who and what they are, and people you can identify with every day. They are not afraid to be OTT or dark. They are just them. I guess I have literally run out of words to describe them further. Just want to say - their love brings me to life everyday.

The entire cast and crew of IPKKND: Jaane kya jadoo hai... But I just can't stop thinking about the serial all the time, and it just drives me insane! But I would not trade this insanity for anything else in the world! Story, script, dialogues, creatives, every department (even the poor body doubles who get my daant every day!) - you guys ROCK! (Sorry for the majority of this post being about BS & SI gushing but I do love them and A&K so!)

Crooner: To me this show is even more special because it's brought me some amazing friends, with whom I spend so much time every day now, who are so utterly amazing, and to whom I owe a lot.

To Suba for being the first Crooner buddy I met, and Ishii for being the first one I spoke to.
To Shweta who is such a wonderful sport and a darling.

To Soni, Sejal, Khushi, Sudha, Anu, Gandhari, Nishita, Indi, Sri, Shivani... I'm sorry I hope I'm not missing any one here... for all the love and sharing and writing and appreciation. Sorry also for clubbing all your names together, but I'm quite sleepy!

I have said this before as well - I'm a little shy about my writing, but this place has brought me such encouragement and joy. It's filled with people who are intellectually stimulating but "phan gurls" at the same time. It's also an inspiration for writing and accepting opinions. This place is all about hope and happiness and I hope this continues for a long time to come.
