Of course Gayatri is only too ready to call Ansh a "paraiah" again, proving that she is Yash's definition of adult. It was such a beautiful dialogue when he said that children form relationships from the heart and not on paper. I loved that this was directed at Aarti, because of the MU that Yash still had, but for us audience it was straight at the 3 Scindia nightmares of "badon". Yash, I think on some levels still sees himself as a child and resents the fact that he cannot let go of this relationship with as much ease as Aarti is supposedly doing. Gayatri went to the lowest rung of desperation today with the threat of walking out of the house. Even though it was apparent she wouldn't, I think she needed reassurance from Yash that he would not go against her. Too bad, Gaya! Again, his parents are failing to understand that his role as a parent has overtaken his role as a son and that is as it should be.
And so Yash arrives, just in time to make his son's day. Even though I knew they were going to win, i was pleasantly surprised by that fall half way through the race. It showed the real difference between Yash and Aarti and why he completes her. I said a while back that Yash sees life as a constant race where at best you can be ahead, while Aarti sees each little goal as a race. So what Aarti sees as defeat, Yash sees as a setback, because he is so much more focused on the bigger picture. That was proven in action today. Where Aarti fell over her dupatta and completely lost her will to go on, Yash picked himself and Ansh up and finished the race, which I thought was beautiful. I think more than winning, it was the way they won that really touched Aarti and gave her a feeling of Ansh getting something from Yash that she, with all her limitations could not give him. One of the things I love most about Aarti's character is her keen awareness of her own strengths and weaknesses and her open acknowledgment of others being better able to do something.
And that is why she so vehemently declares that she does not want to go back to her old life because there is something in this new one that cannot be found in going backwards, it must be found going forth and facing the future with Yash. And she really does answer all of Yash's questions. But before that I have to point out how beautiful Yash's dialogue of resignation was. How wonderful is this man that he can acknowledge, without an ounce of grudge, what Aarti did for him and his children in her time at Scindia House, even when he feels that she is unfairly ripping the rug out from under his feet? There is only one word for it and that is MATURE. Both of these individuals are nothing if not mature and generous to everyone who wrongs them!
And I know it was just a tiny detail but I love that Aarti described giving Payal and Palak a mother's love as a dream. Dreams are something big, something you think about and are not quite sure you can achieve but what you work your hardest to try and attain. It wasn't just a desire or a wish but a DREAM for her to be a good mother to them, a lifelong mission that she would strive for. And this was not lost on Yash because how could he not want that for his girls? Another thing I love about this show is how faithfully it legitimises all the serious discussion we have about it. Never once on this show have I thought to myself, did the CVs even think of that? Because whatever nuance we dissect and analyse always shows up just a little later, showing how much work goes into the writing and the building of character. Today it was the fact that Aarti admitted that the first time around she entered the house for Ansh but now, confident in the knowledge that Ansh will have his papa and a better life than he would have with her alone, she is entering for the marriage itself. We discussed these very points in such great length during the separation and here they are wonderfully manifest!
Finally, I feel like I have already discussed the last scene through the promo but I just wanted to mention that Gayatri told Vidhi to make whatever she and Paridhi wanted. Sasuma is in a good mood today, again a condition for her to be nice. Paridhi was adorable in her earnest confession that she didn't know what she was doing. I keep saying, this girl is not manipulative. I even felt like her mention of Aarti was a little barb for Gaya when she was shouting at her about the rice. Paridhi is not one to take things lying down. Oh lord save us from the 12909th shart of the Scindia jodi!
