Exactly! And that's why it was bothering me that people were bringing in the same discussion that plagues this forum all the time anyway because the kind of issue the show is dealing with is much MUCH bigger than some love triangle.

Kuch samajh mein nahi aata kya kiya jaye. I mean, it's literally eating away at my insides ke people comment like that on FB. It shows that there's an actual issue with the way whatever message is being presented. The writers should look into it. They have a good show here. I also find that the writers are the most creative and issue-centered I've ever experienced on any other show before. They have good intentions and deliver live characters.
If they'd only consider this issue... I'd feel better emotionally.

See, if we think about it then how Viraj is taken by the audience lies with the audience's perception...they haven't necessarily placed him on a pedestal and asked people to look up to him...in fact, some of the things he does should be enough to convince even those that idolize him that something is wrong.

No one in the show, except for Viraj himself, has respect for him. Janvi used to but he broke that trust. His mother was acting as any mother would - always hopeful because that is in their nature. Priya - was just there for his wealth. If you look at Unniyal, even he is opposed to his evil - he just goes along with it to spare his own life. He only wants Janvi to return to Viraj so that he can get on with his life, not because he is supportive of their relationship. In that sense, no, the CVs have not shown support for his character. He has no one's respect but his own for himself.

BUT, the kind of power he has is what I suppose appears attractive to some. Why? I don't know. And it scares me, it really does. To think that someone in reality, outside of a TV show, would be able to inflict that kind of pain and attain pleasure from it and have no remorse - it's disturbing.

They can't change how they've shown Viraj because they reinforce his personality every episode but I guess as someone suggested in this thread earlier, a disclaimer at the beginning of the show is the least they can do although that would seem to have very little impact considering what people see in the show itself.
When has Viraj ever lost? When has he ever felt out of control? Sad? Never. And until that changes, he will remain a hero for some.

she's gagan?? 😲 like, gagan from mjht forum?????
gagan, u changed ur userid?? when why how ? :P
*runs out of the thread and IF incase a WL for spamming shoots my way* 😆
hmm. well... i've been inactive from IF since awhile... so out of touch with rules.. is asking someone "would you want viraj as ur hubby if u were in jhanvi's position?" a valid question?
and if the answer happens to be yes from some user, then is "so you would like you hubby to force down food (that is forbidden for u) down your throat, lock u in a room full of cockroaches?" be a valid question?
or would "would you really ever be able to get over all that viraj's done, fi u were jhanvi?" be a valid question.
and if we see someone saying that jhanvi shud work on the marriage since viraj is her hubby who is mentally ill, then would reminding the user that jhanvi is a human being, not some robot who should always forgive and forget - would that be a valid point to raise? 😆
ooh lastly, would asking a user where they r from, to get better idea of wht ideals they r supporting, be a valid point of discussion or would that be personal (regional/cultural?) attack? 😆

You're right, Rova. But take for instance tonight's episode -- what do you think happens when Jahnvi prays for her abusive husband who has just assaulted an ashram? Won't it confirm people in their misconception of Viraj's character? Won't it make them believe it even more that he's right -- doing what he does?
In one end, Viraj assaults an ashram full of assaulted women. On the other end, Jahnvi who abandoned him for despicable things done to her body and soul, prays for his long life and happiness. Is that right? Doesn't it add to the glorification of Viraj's character?
And what kind of message does it leave for other victims still with their abusive men...?

Chandu, this is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Gosh, this reminds me of all the other FB comments I read. Some were really perverse and pointed at Jahnvi as if the men were Viraj.
