'The Tale of Phoenix Rising'
This is was a tour de force like none other!!! Congratulations, babe!!!👏👏There is no other way I can describe your Crooner! Every quote, Hindi or otherwise, an absolutely encapsulating part of your narrative. Your writing is just as spectacular as the episode! It was the beginning of their catharsis; yes, it was about being in BROKEN FRAMES...shattered, torn, disbelieving. Two minds and hearts in an abyss of emotions! Yet, today I celebrate that which we did not see!
We did not see a woman cowering to this man; a woman who had every right to walk away and not look back. Whose very character and everything she stood for had been blatantly maligned! Instead, we saw a woman who stood there face to face and answered to his demons! Yes, this was about his demons, his misconceptions. Unanswerable to anyone. We witnessed a person, whose own ethos had been so threatened, show immense strength! Grace under fire, personified! Who, despite the very terror and despair, willed herself to not give into her darkest fears, her pain, her terror! Not to get crushed under the very burden of his accusations!
Every question in his eyes, returned with a smile. Watching her on that terrace completely shattered just like that Diwali evening, broke my heart! Yet, I couldn't help but think of her as a PHOENIX RISING, SOARING! No matter what he had said to her, she did not let it show for fear of upsetting her own family...Indeed "kis mitti ki bani hai"...ah, if only he could see the mould that made her...there is only one, and God made sure of it!
Ah, Arnav, a lover scorned and deceived. He finally reached the very center of his pathos! Every pore of him completely engulfed in the pain and love he held for her. Yes, Priya, there was love there. His turning back at her on the terrace, looking at her, searching for answers, in spite of himself! Reflecting back on every beautiful thing she said about her feelings for him...all in a vacuum..suspended...because in the end, the haunting met its mark! Every step taken to protect his di and her child--the only two beings who truly matter. Yes, she is nothing, yet, her memories fail to leave him! He questions--very gently for all that he has been through-why she did not tell him? Yes, Priya, he is hurt; not because of her affair, but because he always believed he mattered to her, because having him in her life made a difference to her..."Koi Farq Nahi Padta" he used that term again to describe how cruel she was to him! His heart reflected in his eyes on that bridge.
Khushi finally answers to her character when he brings in that which is most sacred to her. Yes, her most precious stars! Yes, the very stars that he once questioned if they would be happy with what he had become...Ah, those stars would not light up the evening sky if they saw him on that bridge today! .A warning goes unheeded....Finally, her catharsis begins...Yes, this is only the start...A trailer if you will of what will come soon enough! She maybe his wife in this marriage, but she is not answerable to someone who does not trust her, who can even fathom and believe only that which he has seen and heard. Who has never bothered to ask her the truth! For such a person, her silence will suffice!
I must say the actual frame shattering completely had my heart in my throat. She held it so dearly, yaar...You could see how much it mattered to her, and finally it hit home again for her how destructive his pain is! Not to mention, the poignant implications for ArHi...The significance of mirror and glass in their relationship...Each of those shards has a story tell...And the picture beneath just captured them perfectly--all that is so passionate, undefined, now captured as a memory. Seen through the eyes of another, yet unseen to them. It was heartbreaking in every sense...
What I loved the most about today's epi was the characters remained totally true to themselves. The confusion, anguish, love all of it remained intact. I absolutely have to give kudos to the CVs for showing the farewell from GH in such a beautiful manner! Buaji embracing and kissing Arnav & his being affected by her emotions; just reminded me of his face on that first day when he got to GH, and the total look of disbelief! Garima, ever the gracious mother figure, cooking up a storm including the "pussta"...There is no way to even describe the performances...I am happy Sobti is on leave 'cause he's gonna need to decompress for a bit! Sanaya's trip to England did her a world of good too! Both beyond fantabulous!!
As I was watching the episode, all I could think about is how much harder this highway to redemption will be to traverse. That study into their pathos will be just as difficult for us...Can't even wrap my mind around it! Her strength & sacrifice will only multiply the emotions surrounding his guilt! Kyun daard hai itna, tere ishq mein...Rabba Ve....Ah, if only hind sight were 20-20!😊 Still numb after watching...couldn't help but pen my thoughts despite all the stuff on my plate!
P.S. Thanks for writing out the new version of the Rabba Ve...But a part of me still prefers Tu Hi Baata Mere Maula...😊
