Res...will update very late...Props for the Gibran quote...Absolutely ma fav!!
Edited~
Priya, I had some unanticipated stuff come up today! There was so much to say for this epi; perhaps, I'll come back to it again later!
Quick thoughts:
The Crooner ROCKED!!!! A true tour de force!!!👏 👏What really struck me here were certain realizations: Khushi's complete possession of her husband! Handling him (physically & verbally) in front of the lovely aunties! The blessings for seven lifetimes holding such deep meaning for both of them...Yes, both had questions in their eyes, but how can we forget Gibran's words here: "love possess not nor will it be possesed, for love is sufficient unto love." The sadness in Khushi's eyes in recognizing that her marriage would not last one lifetime, let alone seven; to remember an expiration date in light of that blessing was pain personified! And, I saw the same pain in Arnav's eyes, too. Yet, there they were...living, being with each other; if that's not love, what is?
Coming to the class issue & ASR being ASR: today his reality made sense. Yes, it did. He was uncomfortable, he took matters into his own hands! This is typical of him! But what I also saw here was an acceptance of the Guptas. He made their space his own. Yesterday he was made to look like a fish out of water, yet the dialogues today confirmed what this family meant to him...asking Buaji if she was at the door (that was adorable on both ends!), telling them the A/C was for them once he was gone! I also do think he understood that indeed he may have not gone about it in the right manner; that sometimes being ASR is not enough; ppl have their own homes, their own lives outside of the RM!
The SOLID GOLD moment for me today was the warmth on Buaji & Garima's part...Yes, he is their shakshath Nand Kisore; the damaad put on the pedestal (can we blame them after that Crimson affiliation to Harvard 😆)...Yet, what mattered to them, inspite of everything, was his happiness! That's it. Of course, in the next minute, my heart really went out to Khushi when they talked about compromise & adjusting! She remained silent; her eyes, however, spoke volumes! Btw, I really like how you described ArHi as equal partners now in light of the a/c install!
The last scene about the electrical overload was bang on! Another check for ASR into a reality different than his own! Speaking of realities, and Khushi wanting to teach him a lesson about the 'real world', I do hope she too learns of ASR's realities one day: being orphaned, homeless, adopted, then struggling to make his way in that same "real" world. Yes, he went to Harvard, but he did not go there with a silver spoon! I couldn't help but think of ASR's conversation with Maami about Maami selling her jewels so that he could start his business; when will the CVs touch upon this again?
All around, the performances were STELLAR!!! The Rabba Ve was reminiscent of their best moments together! My personal take on his school of choice is that it's a cliche now! 😆 Identified by almost all; Har-id-war, notwithstanding!🤣 Alas, a Wharton or U of Chicago (my alma mater!) wouldn't have the same cache across the board! Just waiting to see what else remains to be revealed about our phoren return, lakhon mein ek!!! For now, I eagerly await the left-right-middle to come tomorrow!!! 😉 😉
