Excellent Episode
1. Shyam got the key.
2. Arnav started to show (very small) signs of trusting Khushi - it is a start
3. Khushi demotes Shyam from 'Shyam ji' to 'Is Admi'. YAY for Khushi! Finally! Long overdue!
4. Arnav clears the first Trust test right after Khushi demoted Shyam to 'Is Admi'!! COOL! With respect to Khushi - Arnav, one up; Shyam, one down.
5. Arnav and Khushi get to see each other in a different environment for a few days.
The Stealing of the Key
2. Sneaky poo standing outside ASR's door longingly looking inside, gives himself 10 minutes before he can get the much-coveted key to ASR's safe
3. What a wonderful snoop you are, Shyam! Look everywhere when the treasure chest is open bang in the middle of the room.
Though I can't figure out why Arnav would keep his wallet containing his ever-important key lying open in the middle of his room.
But then hey, if a man can't trust his room for his important stuff, what can he trust!
4. But just then Khushi comes in. Shyam knows well to distract Khushi. He does not underestimate Khushi's power to be duped. And he's right.
Though she does not believe that he came to give the glass of juice, she easily believes him that he was there to see her on the pretext of giving ASR a glass of juice.
The other half must be wondering why Arnav could not hear what was going on in his room, just a door away!
5. Shyam manages to spill the juice and Khushi scampers away with the batua (wallet) to dry out its content.
Curiously, she does keep the money and the dhaga out, but she leaves the key inside. She doesn't even know that there was a key inside his wallet.
Khushi, for the first time, does not call the creep 'Shyam ji'. Demotion, creep! Congratulations.
6. Out comes the creep and copies the key.
May the keymaker double-cross you, creep! But then, that might not be beneficial for the story. So, do what you have to and let the story proceed.
1. Arnav looking for his wallet and Khushi still playing the dutiful wife, gets it for him.
Good thing Arnav questioned about how his wallet got outside.
2. Khushi told him that juice was spilled over it so she took it outside to dry it out.
Good thing Arnav believed her response.
3. Arnav checks the key and Khushi, who still has no clue about the key, tells him it is okay if he wants to count the money.
Arnav is taken aback by her openness about his lack of trust. She does not put it beyond him to think that she was able to steal money from him. Ouch! That moment was awkward for you, isn't it Arnav!?
The way you sputtered to a stop and clarified that it wasn't the money but something else that you wanted to check! You were a bit eager to tell her that you do not think of her as a thief. But Arnav, you think her to be something much worse than a thief - why then does her statement make you eager to tell her that you do not think of her being able to steal from him? After all, to you she is stealing your sister's husband, she was proving to be nice so she could get more jewelery from your Nani, she was looking for a comfortable life as the wife of a rich man...! Or have you forgotten that she is the creep's accomplice?
This was a perfect moment to tell her what you thought of her, cheap, gold-digger, capable of thievery. Why didn't you? Why was the reaction so defensive? Why were you so eager to show that you'd trust her for a bit of money?
4. Khushi mentions that if he's not checking the money then perhaps he trusts her.
Arnav does not answer.
Of course! What would you say? You just walked right into it, didn't ya!!
Hints of trust beginning to bud!
5. Khushi resumes her Pati-vrata drama.
Arnav irritated but only mildly.
She gets him to let her help him get the coat on. He gives in.
His expressions say - Okay, fine! Just so that I'd have some peace!
His heart goes - Aha! My wife!
6. She rambles off telling him all she plans to do and why for the rest of the day - just a like a good wife.
She lets him know the progress of her tiffins, the tiffins going late, and the kids coming in the evening.
She makes it a point to tell him that his tiffin would read before everyone else's because as her husband, he was her priority.
Arnav responds that he is least interested. Yeah, right! You were SO interested when she wasn't talking to you, weren't you! Liar!!
7. She gives him the handkerchief and reminds him to check his wallet.
He almost does when he realizes that she is just fussing over him as a wife would.
Aww, Khushi wushi! You're SO mighty adorable.
ASR did not check the handkerchief before taking it and pocketing it. Wow, in just a few days he's receiving stuff from her and trusting her for it? Just a couple of days back, he checked the towel, the quilt and the perfume.
Arnav, trusting the enemy, are we?
Or did her statement about you checking the money in your wallet still bobbing in your mind?
By the way, this is the first Trust test that you have passed. Congratulations Buddy!
Khushi saw that Arnav kept the handkerchief without checking. She was happy that her special surprise was planted. Perhaps, later she may also be happy that he's begun to take stuff from her without doubting her.
But Arnav, you gotta stop giving in to all her eccentricities and stop her from doing all this stuff for you. Because, as per your plan, when she leaves you after your defined time-limit, you'll be miserable without her. Uh.. actually, you'd be miserable without her even now, and you've already had a taste of that.
8. Khushi curses herself for interrupting him as he left for work and refuses to let him go unless 2 whole minutes were over.
He tries and she intercepts, lies down on the doorway.
Khushi, only you can do this!
Arnav, if you weren't busy being ASR you'd love what she's doing. How do we know? Something like this should've blasted your temper off to Jupiter in record time! All you did was a heave a pitiful sigh and declare that you were leaving.
To crown it all, when you realized the keys were missing, you still didn't scream your lungs out.
Then, when she withheld the keys, all you could react was with an exasperated - 'Are you serious?'
Till she let the keys go when her time limit was over.
Arnav, everything she does is anyway registered in your memory for ever (so we don't need to tell you to remember it). It's all gonna come in handy when you'd need to get her back.
9. Cough, cough! Wait my wife gave me a handkerchief. Oh! The stench! What is it?
Ah! It is what she calls 'phss phss itr!'
Nice but it makes me go A-chooo!
10. Ah! My office staff gets to see just how much my wife loves me. She kissed my kerchief! YAY me! NOT!
Meeting dismissed. Get out. I'm reminded of my sweetheart. Need to talk to her right now!
11. Khushi: Ah, you remember me? Have you eaten or are you still hungry!
Khushi, was such a crack at his morning revelation about not eating and fainting.
12. Arnav: I don't like your cheap itr, and your cheap lipstick, and your cheap tricks. You're as old as Bubbly and you never grew up!
Fandom: Yada yada yada! Now look what you and your big mouth have got you into. 3-4 days in your sasuraal! Where you'll see plenty of Khushi and her cheapness.
13. Just when I get home and hope to rest, my wife has packed my bags. Interestingly, what he said on the phone to whoever he was talking to – Of course, we'll go! Yes, Arnav, of course you will.
No man has EVER denied his wife's plan to stay in her mayeka along with her husband, if he knew what was good for him. And you're not going to be the first.
14. The moment Nani declares that it was her idea that Arnav go, Khushi, your smile was OUTSTANDING!! You're SO cute!
The moment Arnav denied that he'd go, Nani's expression changed and Arnav caught the change instantly. He knew that he was SO going!
Splendid Opportunities
1. For Arnav to see his birdie in her natural habitat. This might help him see: [keyword: might]
- Khushi in her natural colors, that is, with her parents - give him a chance to learn what Khushi is all about. Khushi has learned about Arnav from being in his house almost every day since she joined the job. Now, it is Arnav's small chance.
- What Khushi's family means to her, especially her father.
- What Arnav & Akash mean to them, especially after what happened with their daughters.
- Help him think if a girl such as her might have done what he thinks she has.
- Help him at least question what made a girl like Khushi go after a creep like Shyam - this is a good starting point to start wondering.
- Wonder if the name 'Shyam' ever crops up in conversations
2. For an interaction between Arnav and Shashi - even if silent.
Shashi is an intelligent man. He has never met Arnav after the wedding. This is something I am looking forward to.
3. For Shyam to steal the file.
4. For Anjali to catch Shyam - though she might dismiss it as Shyam missing Arnav so much that he visited his room and shake it off with an 'Aap bhi na!'.
5. For Arnav to try some more of Buaji's kaadha! Okay, just kidding. Maybe time for some bitter truth, er... medicine for Arnav!
What Looks Crucial
1. The timing of Anjali giving the juice glass to Shyam.
Anjali first discovered Shyam – or rather, Shyam gave himself away to Anjali in his hurry to get the key.
However, Anjali, who initially seemed to be Shyam's hindrance, only opened the door to Arnav's room for him.
2. Arnav's secret lying out in the open, visible to only Shyam.
Shyam knows Arnav's secret, but Khushi and Anjali do not.
Anjali never got in, and Khushi though she got in, could not figure out.
3. Shyam was then seen by Khushi who tried to interrupt him, but only helped him further.
Shyam is cunning as a snake: he used 'juice for Arnav' as a ploy to misdirect Khushi; and used 'Khushi' as a cover to get Arnav's key.
4. Arnav got his key back from Khushi, who unknowingly took away and unknowingly brought it back.
5. The timing of Arnav building/showing some level of trust in Khushi, Arnav-Khushi going to live in GH for a few days - in effect, seeing each other in a different environment than ever before, and Shyam gaining access to the file.
Apparently, Arnav is being given one HUGE lesson in trusting his wife and then being tested on trust.
He's cleared a small test recently. Hopefully, he is prepared to take on the big one. Our best wishes with you, Buddy! You'll need it.
6. Anjali saw Shyam again in the vicinity of Arnav's room.
'Key' Plot Points
1. It is curious that after Holi Shyam has information that he could very well use against ASR.
2. However, before he could do that the file and the key came into picture and distracted him from the information he had.
Shyam was held back from using the information against ASR fully, though he could have really worsened the situation with that detail. For what purpose?
3. Shyam's priorities can be seen here: he has information by which he could weaken ASR's plan to gain Khushi; however, he first directed his attention to a file from ASR's lawyer that ASR kept in his own room's safe - implying that the safe is probably the safest known place for ASR.
4. Shyam had key information; however, it was a different 'key' that got his attention.
5. It is interesting that the artifact being hunted by Shyam is a 'key' - but a key to what?
A key to a file?
A key to the mystery behind Arnav's actions?
A key to clearing of Arnav's misunderstanding?
A key is generally to either open a door or to lock it.
What is coming out in the open? What is being locked in?
Shyam is so keen to see what is in that file. Will it even help him if that which Arnav's is holding secret comes out in the open?
6. Shyam has said it on at least two occasions that all of Anjali's wealth belongs to him – out of which once, he's said it recently to Anjali herself (though he later turned it into a sentimental joke!)
What makes Shyam so confident that he would get Anjali's part of the wealth? The reason has to be so strong that it did not deter
I have always questioned, but never yet got the answer, as to what makes Shyam so confident against someone as powerful as ASR. Is it because he feels that ASR will be powerless as long as Shyam holds Anjali? Or is the reason more solid that purely emotional?
Is it a small fortune that ASR may have given Shyam that he may have refused in order to gain his trust, and half his kingdom? Or is it simply something he's done to ensure his sister's rights are safe in case Shyam has to be removed from her life?
The Plot? Or the Plot?
On the face of it, it looks like a well-crafted plan.
Shyam takes the juice off Anjali's hands and brings it into Arnav's room, on the pretext of giving him the juice. Khushi joins him. They spill the juice on it to take it outside, on the pretext of drying it up. Khushi walks off before it looks suspicious, and Shyam quietly gets the key imprint. Khushi later returns the wallet to Arnav.
Weak points: If Shyam was already in the room on a good enough pretext, and the wallet was available, he didn't need to spill juice on it. He could simply put the juice down, take the key and walk off. He didn't even need Khushi for the job. In fact, by spilling juice and leaving it out, it just gives ASR a chance to sniff a rat. In fact, it made him check the key.
However, the fake plot becomes an MU only depending on Arnav's reaction to it.
If he decides to not trust Shyam, but Khushi, then perhaps, the truth has a chance of opening up to Arnav gradually.
If not, then perhaps chances are that the truth may fall on Arnav like a nuclear warhead and everything in sight may end up unrecognizable, including ASR!
Others
1. Bubbles still mighty jealous of Payal.
2. Akash, you DO need more Bournevita. How could you give Payal more attention when Ms B was around?
3. Mami Jaan is very attached wit Bubbly.
4. Bubbly might relate to Khushi - they both lost their parents as a child.
On the Lighter Side
1. Umm ... a whole week off the scene and you still couldn't find a barber willing to give you a hair cut? Or a shave?
2. I can't figure out, for the life of me, why Shyam gave himself *10* minutes!
I mean Arnav could take a longer bath. Or he could decide to wash his face and be done with it for the day!
Or is it an unspoken understanding between the menfolk that 10 minutes bathing time is universally perfect? You get to wet yourself, smell the soap, dry yourself and come out! Well, a good cleanup is definitely not possible in 10 minutes!
3. Arnav actually is freaky about the compartments of his wallet - where to keep what! Amazingly organized.. ROFL!
4. Arnav: I'm not interested in when your meeting is with the Governer.
ROFL!!
5. Laxmi completed Khushi's statement - Jahan Piya waha Mheee!!
Precap
Mami Jaan is giving advice to Arnav?
Oh dear! Precap, you ought to have taken some of those pills!
