Bani opened her eyes slowly holding her head which still trobbed with pain. She looked around and found that she was in the hospital. Mein yaha kaise? Aur mujhe chakkar kyu aah rahe hain? Then all the happenings of the day flooded her mind. She still hadnt digested everything that had happened. Her thoughts went to Mr Walia. The man whom she loved whole heartedly. The man who made her feel different emotions. The man who in the end she fell so deeply in love with. Her heart refusd to accept it that he had killed her mother. Somewhere in her heart, a voice told her that he was innocent and that there was more than meets the eye. But her mind constantly taunted her that her husband has destroyed her's and her sister's childhood. She only knew how difficult it was to live without their mother and that mr walia had snatched their mother away from them. Her heart and mind were both fighting to take control of her thoughts. She didn't know what to follow, her heart or mind. She also count fathom as to what in the world was she doing in the hospital. She got up from the bed and walked out. As she slowly walked holding her head, she suddenly heard someone crying continuously. As she approached the stairs, she was shocked at the sight that met her.
There Mr Walia sat crying like a baby. Tears were falling down his cheeks non stop. She had no idea what had happened that brought tears to his eyes. She felt tears welling up in her eyes. She knew she shouldn't feel sorry for this man but she cudnt help it. She felt as though her heart was being pierced with a sharp dagger. She walked closer to him. She had no idea what made her do it. She placed a hand on his shoulder.
Jai felt a warm hand touching his shoulder. He looked up to see his beautiful wife looking down at him with tears in her eyes. He couldn't help but admire her. He knew there and then that without her, he wouldn't survive at all. He loved her a lot. More than he loved anyone in the world. He got up and faced her. Their eyes met and connected. Both their hearts filled with love for the other. Both wanting to hold the other in their arms but circumstances made them helpless. Jai didn't know whether he should tell her the good news. He was afraid that she would reject him and would want to leave him. He finally mustered the courage and spoke up. Bani, doctor ne kaha hain ke'. He cudnt continue. His tears just wont let him speak. He calmed himself down and looked into those passionate eyes and spoke with tenderness and care, tum maa ban ne wali ho.
Part 2
Bani was shell shocked upon hearing that she was pregnant. She had never expected this to happen ever. She had no idea how to react or what to do. Should she be happy or sad? She didn't know why such a thing happened. She was sick of all this tests she was being put through. She had no idea why God made such a thing happen. In her heart, the moment the news was broken to her, she was overjoyed. She knew that becoming a mother for a woman was a blessing from God. There was no other powerful relation than a mother and her childs. She was overyjoyed that she was going to be the mother Jai Walia's child. It was the symbol of their night of passion that had occurred a few weeks ago. But again, everything hit her again. She was carrying the man's child who had murdered her mother. The person who had snatched their mother away. Because of him, they had to spend their childhood in darkness. Living without the care and warmth of their mother. She looked up at Jai who seemed to be lost in his thoughts. She didn't know what she should do. Should she forgive this man? Or should she leave him and live a life alone with her unborn child? Hey Bhagwan, mein kya karoon? Mujhe kuch samaj nahi aah raha hain? Kya karu! She sighed in exasperation.
Jai coudnt help but just admire his wife! She looked so beautiful with her delicate features. Her face was glowing in the dim light of the hospital. Even in this state, she looked like a delicate flower waiting to be held gently by him. He knew he was never going to able to hold her in his arms to let her feel all the warmth and love that he held for her in his heart. He could see tears forming in her lovely eyes and his heart clenched. He had given her lots of reasons to cry but that was when he had no feelingsfor her. But now, when he loved her whole heartedly, he still seemed to be the cause of the tears in her eyes. How he wished he could kiss away all the pain that she was going through and tell her he loved her and he couldn't bear to see any drop of tears in those lovely eyes. He was clueless as to what was going on in her mind. He couldn't take it anymore. Bani tum think ho na? kya huwa? He reached to touch her delicate face but she pushed his hand away. Part of her wanted him to hold her and tell her that everything is going to be alright and part of her wanted her to go as far away as possible from this man. Jai was about to say something when a woman's booming voice called out for him. Jai and bani turned towards the voice and saw jigyasa hurrying towards them with Massi following behind with an apprehensive look on her face. Kya hua Jai bhaiyya? Sab thik to hain na? aapko kuch huwa to nahin hain na? kuch kahiye na bhiayya??? Mein apse baat kar rahi roon. She turned towards Bani and started her screaming again. Kya huwa mere Jai bhaiyya ko??? Aab kya karke aii hoon?? Tum behno ne to mere aur mere bhai ka nind uraliya hain?? Patanahi kab tum loko se chutkara milega???
Jai was utterly disgusted. Sometimes he felt that his sister wasn't his. She could be so irksome at times. Jai couldn't take it anymore. SHUT UP JIGYASA!! TUM HOTI KAUN HO MERI BIWI KOH YEH SAB BOLNE KI??? JUST SHUT UP OK VARNA MUJSE BURA KOI NAHIN HOGA!!! Jigyasa was shell shocked. This was the first time her brother had raised his voice at her. She thought is bani kis vajese mere bhaiyya ne aaj muj par awaz uthai' mein usko chodungi nahin! Kabhi nahin! Massi interrupted her thoughts and asked her munna and bahu, kya huwa munna? Bahu thik to hain na? tum thik ho na?? Tum dono yaha hospital mein kyu???
At this moment, Jai and Bani turned to look at each other. Bani's eyes were welling up. She did not know why but these tears kept on welling up in her eyes. It was as though maybe in her whole life thse tears were not going to leave her. Jai looked at his ever so beautiful wife. Looking outstandingly beautiful in the bright yellow sari and her silky hair flying slightly in the slight breeze. There was one loose strand of hair across her face. Ohh how he wished he could take that strand of hair and tuck it behind her ears' how he wished he could kiss those slightly pink cheeks' how he wished to just taster her again and how show her how deeply he loves her. He pushed all those thoughts to the back of his head and was about to answer massi when the doctor came by and asked him, arre mr walia aap abhi tak yaha hain? Mrs walia ko abhi tak ghar kyun nahi le geye? Meine apko pehle bhi kaha tha ke inko araam ki sak zarurat hain. Is halat mein zyada stress lena mana hain. Bache ke liye thik nahi hoga. With that he left leaving a stunned Jigyasa who seemed to have the look on the face as though the world was going to end there and then and massi, boy she was basking in glory at the thought that she as going tobe a dadi. Kya?!! Both Jigyasa and massi exclaimed, jigyasa's tone in utter horror and massi's in the most enthusiastic one. Bani thought to herself, oh God ab kya hoga?
Part 3
Massi was the first to react to this exceptionally good news that had been broken. She instinctively took her bahu in her arms and hugged her so tightly. After what seemed like eons, she finally let go of her pregnant bahu and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. Bani looked up at massi who was basking in glory. She was all smiles! A tear droplet rolled down massi's cheek. Bani looked at her with questioning eyes. Massi saw that enquiring look in her bahu's eyes and immediately said, are mujhe kuch nahin huwa hain. Yeh to khushi ke aason hain ke mera munna papa banne wala hain aur tum maa. Munna, aab to hamare ghar mein ek chota sa munna ane wala hain, aab koi laparwahi main bardaasht nahi karungi. Tumme bahu ka pure pura dyaan rakna padega. Samja? When she got no answer, she practically shouted, munna!! Suna tume? Kya koh gaya hain?? Jai was jolted from his thoughts by his massi's booming voice. Kya? Ha..ha massi mein samaj gaya. Massi just laughed at her munna and said, acha tum dono ghar jaon, mein abhi mandir ja kar ati hoon. Bhagwan ka shukriyadaa bhi to karna hain na? She smiled at Bani and then at Jai and left the hospital .
Jigyasa was still rooted to the floor. She coudnt believe her ears. Were they hearing correctly? Bani and pregnant??? How could that be??? No, im sure she's putting the blame on Jai bhaiyya. I just know it. With that she walked to Jai bhaiyya and said, bhaiyya mein janti hoon keh yeh sab jooth hain. Bani aapke bache ki maa nahi hoo sakti. Zaroor kissi aur ka bacha hoga. Agar aap massi ko sach nahin bata sakte to main bata dungi. She walked towards Bani and demanded from her that whose child was she carrying in her womb. Kiska ganda koon hain jo tum apne kauk mein palrahi ho??? Jawab do mujhe?!!
A deafening sound was heard the moment she spoke those words to Bani. Jigyasa had her hand on her cheek and tears were rolling down her cheeks. Jai had slapped her so hard that passers-by turned to look in their direction for sheer curiosity. For a few seconds, all went silent. No one spoke a single word. Jigyasa was staring at her brother in utter horror whereas Jai just looked at her with pure hatred reflecting in his eyes, his hand clenched in a ball of fist. Bani just looked on still abit shocked at the news that she had received and at what just occurred.
Tumari himat kasse huwa yeh sab bakwas kehne ni??!! Meri biwi aur bache ke kilaf yeh sab kehne ki himmat kesse ki tumne???!!!! Boy was he mad or what? Never did Bani nor Jigsaya had ever seen this form of Jai Walia, extremely outraged and mad. Yeh bacha mera hain samji tum??? Aur bani MERI biwi hain! In dono ke kilaf mein kuch bhi nahin sunna chata, aur agar tune kuch aisa wesa karne ki koshish ki, TO MUHJSE BURA KOI NAHIN HOGA!! He grabbed hold of bani's hand tightly yet gently and led her to his car and drove home. Bani didn't know what made her follow him. She was still shocked that she was going to be a mother. She knew she should have left the hospital and go somewhere far far away as she still had not forgiven Jai. But something in her heart made her follow him back to Walia Mansion.
Part 4
As she was about to enter the Walia Mansion, she stopped abruptly at the door. Massi was standing there waiting excitedly for her bahu to come. She had the puja ki thali in her hand and was waiting impatiently to aarti utare Bani. Bani stood at the door with Jai at her side. The meer presence of him caused shivers to run up and down her spine. Despite herself she shivered slightly. Jai who was watching her every move saw that she shivered and instinctly felt the urge to hold her against his warm body and warm her up. His hand had already begun to move to hold her waist and bring her in to him but he stopped himself as he knew she would definitely not like it. Massi was radiating with happiness as she aarti uttared Bani. She then said, mere munna or bahu ko kisiki nazar na lage and blessed them. Bani then stepped in the house without realising it that both she and Jai had stepped in together with their right foot first markng them as one. Massi looked at their retreating backs and smiled from ear to ear and a tear droplet escaped from her eyes.
Bani entered her bedroom. She saw that the room had been decorated with new curtains and new furniture had replaced the old ones. She also saw a nice comfy rocking chair with a soft cushion in the shape of a heart nicely placed on the chair begging her to hug it close to her. After what seemed like ages, a slight smile appeared on her face. She felt as though she had forgotten how to smile! She hadnt smiled in what seemed like days since that horrid day when she found out the disturbing truth about her husband. As she thought about the last few days happenings , somewhere in her heart, something kept on telling her that things were not what they seemed to be. This strange feeling kept on coming to her everytime she thought about the park road incident. She couldn't fathom as to what was it that seemed so wrong with the whole thing. She sighed deeply and walked towards the bed.
As she sat down, she realised that the bed sheets and covers had been changed to a nice baby pink colour. A colour which she loved and also it was Mr Walia's favourite colour too. Her thoughts drifted to the day when he had asked her to wear a pink sari on an occasion and had also commented that she looked nice in pink with a slight smile playing on his lips. That smile still made her melt even now. She knew she shouldn't be thinking of him but what could she do, she had fallen head over heels in love with her husband. Even though she wanted to hate him because of what he did, she couldn't bring herself to do so! She shook her head to clear all those delirious thoughts that came into her head when she thought of Mr Walia and rested her head against the head rest. In a few seconds, she was fast asleep and her mind had gone to a land of dreams where there was no such thing called pain.
Jai entered his bedroom and his eyes immediately fell upon his beautiful wife who was sleeping peacefully with one hand resting on her flat tummy and the other on his side of the bed. She looked astonishingly gorgeous even after the exhaustion of the day. The moonlight was illuminating her small delicate face and made her look like an angel. His angel. How he yearned to hold her in his arms again'he walked towards his bed and noticed that she had not taken out his night dress from him. Disappointed, he walked to the wardrobe and took it out himself and went to the bathroom to change. When he stepped out of the bathroom, he was stunned at what met him. Bani's sari's pallu had dropped of her shoulder and her tummy was showing. It must have gotten loose somehow in the day, he thought to himself. He just couldn't stop looking at her'. She just looked so'wow! The desire to touch her again and hold her grew more intense. He walked towards her slowly and carefully so as to not make any noise. Gently he sat down beside her on the bed and looked at her again. Kitni masoom lagrahi hain sote huwe. He couldn't stop admiring her and neither could he stop himself from leaning forward. There was barely any gap left between their faces. He could feel his breathing getting deeper and deeper as he inched forward and placed a gentle kiss on her rosy cheek. He admired her facial features and his gaze fell to her soft tender lips' how he yearned to kiss those lips' he remembered the night when he had kissed her and how good it felt when he had claimed her lips' thinking about it brought a huge grin to his face. He moved away slightly but not before giving her a light kiss on her lips. Jai then covered her with the soft blanket and drifted off to sleep without realizing that Bani had cuddled up into him and was sleeping against his chest.
Part 5
Bright sunlight filtered in Jai and Bani's bedroom through the open windows and hit Bani's eyes. She stirred awake and felt a warm hand around her waist. She looked up to see that she was sleeping against her husband's chest very comfortably and his hand had snaked around her waist while sleeping. Unwillingly, she blushed and smiled. She could hear the soft thud of his heartbeat and leaned further to hear it. Just hearing his heartbeat gave her a strange feeling of calm and peace. She then placed her hand on her tummy and felt the heartbeat of their child. She could hear and feel her husband and child's heartbeat together and smiled from ear to ear. Without realizing, a single tear rolled down her cheek and hit Jai's hand.
Jai felt a tear drop on his hand and he woke up to see that Bani was awake and that she had tears in her eyes. Seeing this, his heart sank. Kyon Uparwala mere saath aisa kar raha hain! Ab jab mein Bani se pyaar karta hoon to woh mujhse kitni nafrat karti hain' zindagi ne phirse mere saath aisa kyon kiya??? He gently held on to Bani and lifted her chin up so that their eyes met. Both of them looked into each other's eyes'both secretly yearned to be in each other's embrace, lost in their own world where there was nothing that could separate them. Jai and Bani continued to gaze at each other, both fighting the desire that was threatening to engulf them. Jai so much wanted to touch her and hold her and make her understand that he loved her more than anything, that she was his and he was her's. Bani, on the other hand, wanted so much to just hug her husband and stay in his embrace forever but her mind constantly taunted her that this was wrong. A loud knock on their bedroom door jolted them out of their thoughts. Bani immediately blushed and walked over to open the door. Jai couldn't help but smile at the fact that a meer eye locking between them could make his wife blush! How cute is she! He thought.
Bani opened the door to see a beaming Massi with a glass of milk in her hands.
Good morning bahu! Kaise ho?
Bani: mein thik hoon massi.
Massi: yeh lo, tumare liye mein badam ka dhood layi hoon. Tumara aur tumare bache ke liye faidakarak hoga. Jaldi se pilena varna ek kaan ne niche doongi. Thik hain? With
that she left still with that smile on her face that was clealy reflecting how delighted she was at the fact that she was going to be a grandmother. Bani turned only to see that Jai was busy staring at her with a gleam in his eyes and she felt herself getting drawn towards him'.Nahi yeh sab ghalat hain. To stop herself from losing her control, she walked briskly towards the bathroom, placing the glass of milk on the dressing table along the way. All this while, Bani quite oblivious to the fact that Jai was watching her every little movement that she made like a hungry animal waiting for the opportunity to just pounce on his prey. The loud banging of the bathroom door brought him back to earth. He shook his head to clear his mind, smiling to himself slightly. After 15 minutes, Jai heard the bathroom door open. Bani came out dressed in a dark pink sari with exquisite silver embroidery. Her hair was still wet and little droplets of water were falling from the ends. She had no make up on but still she looked stunning. She looked like an angel, so pure and elegant. An angel that was sent to him to change his life forever. All this while, his life was very dull, his whole day being spent in his office and handling his business empire. But the day that Bani entered his life, his life took a complete turn and for the first time, he realised how beautiful life can be. He watched her walk towards the dressing table and she turned with her back facing him. His eyes widened at what he saw. Bani had a blouse on that was alluringly open with multiple doris. All still not tied and were begging to be tied by him. He got up from his bed and walked slowly towards her, with each step his heartbeat increased twice as much, the desire to hold his wife in his arms intensifying.
Part 6
Inch by inch, he moved towards Bani who was in her own world dressing herself up completely unaware that Jai was moving towards her. He reached out and touched her slightly on the shoulder. Bani jolted out from her dream world at the touch of his warm hand. Just that meer touch made her heart beat twice as fast. She felt her cheeks getting warmer and her breathing deepening. Her eyes automatically closed. Bani felt his fingers moving across her back, sending shivers up and down her spine. She felt them stopping at her blouse and felt the dori's getting tied by him. Everytime he tied her dori , she felt his fingers caressing her back. From behind, Jai saw his wife blushing and her eyes were shut tight. He could also hear her breathing getting faster with each of his touch. He smiled at the effect that he was having on her. She was also making no attempts to stop him. She wasn't showing any anger towards him and he saw a glimmer of hope that things were going to ok between them. With that slight hope, he continued to move his fingers, their destination her arms now.
Bani could feel herself falling deeper and deeper as Jai continued to touch her. Each touch making her loose all control that she had. His fingers were now trailing down her arms. She could feel his warm breath on her neck as he rested his chin on her shoulder. Seconds later, she felt a gentle kiss on her side of her neck. The next kiss came on her back of her neck. She could feel his lips moving down. She was totally losing her control now. Suddenly the image of her mother came into her head and she opened her eyes. She realised what was happening. Nahi yeh sab ghalat hain. Mr Walia kyon yeh sab kar rahe hain! Mujhe usse dur hi rehna hoga varna mein apne aap par kabu nahi rak paungi. Lekin mein kyon apne aap ko rok nahi pati? Kyon mein Mr Walia ko nafrat nahi kar pati? The thought of her mother getting killed by the man that she loved brought tears to her eyes. She couldn't take it anymore. She quickly got herself out from Mr Walia's arms and left for breakfast, leaving a completely stunned Jai looking at her retreating back. As she had walked past her, he noticed that her eyes had tears in them.
Jai felt really guilty. Once again he had brought tears to her eyes again. Once again he had hurt her feelings. Once again, he didn't care about her feelings and what she must have been going through. How could he have been so selfish and just care about himself? If he wanted Bani back into his life, he had to think about her feelings first and not his. He had to find out what she wanted. He had to control his desires of having her in his arms. He had to win her heart no matter what. That was his priority now, others all can wait. He had to get her to forgive him and accept him, if not he would not be able to survive. He couldn't imagine a life without her, it would be so desolate and dull. Thinking about it brought tears to his eyes. Determined now to win her heart no matter, he went to the bathroom to freshen up.
When he reached the breakfast table, he saw that everyone had already finished their breakfast and had gone to do their respective work for the day. Only massi and dadi were sitting down and cracking jokes as usual. He smiled to them as he sat down at his place. Arre munna tu aah gaya. Chalo nashta karlo. Bahu! Zara munna ko nashta dena. Bani heard her name being called. Massi had called her to serve Jai his breakfast. The more she wanted to stay away from him, the more she got closer to him. She walked out of the kitchen bringing Jai's food. Jai saw his beautiful wife walking out of the kitchen, with a tray in her hands, walking ever so graciously towards him. He couldn't help but just admire her beauty. Gosh she looks stunning! He smiled to himself at that. Bani served him his breakfast, not even a single word from her. Quietly she left, leaving Jai totally shattered. He couldn't take it that Bani was ignoring him like as though he didn't exist. On the other side of the table, Massi noticed that Jai and Bani didn't even exchange any words, no smile no nothing. Massi wondered worriedly , kya hoga hain in dono ko? Itni khush khabar milli hain phir bi ek duje se kyon kafha hain?
Part 7
Massi got very apprehensive as to what was wrong with these two. They should both be on cloud nine as they were now going to be parents, one of the most beautiful feeling on earth. The child is the symbol of their love for each other. Jai and Bani should both be elated that they were going to receive the joys of parenthood, but instead both appeared disturbed and unhappy. Mujhe Jai se baat karni hi padegi. She thought to herself. Sham ko baat karugi mein usse.
In the office, Jai was sitting in his comfy chair, head leaned back staring into space. He didn't even notice his secretary entering his office. Sir? She asked timidly. Everyone in the office feared their boss who can get really hot tempered at times. Sir? This time slightly more confidently. Jai was jolted out of his reverie at the timid voice of his secretary.
Jai: Ha..haan kaho kya baat hain?
Secretary: Sir mujhe sirf yeh kehna tha ki aaj apki bohot important meeting hain foreign delegates ke saat. Meine woh paach baje rakhi hain. Sirf apko yaad dilane ayi thi.
Jai: ek kaam karna. Sab meetings cancel karlo. Ranveer se keh lena ke woh meeting meh jaye.
Secretary: lekin sir, aapko toh yeh meeting ka to'
Jai: meine keh diya na! so keh diya! Ab jao!!
Without another word, she left. She had just made the biggest mistake of questioning her boss. Jai had no idea what was wrong with him. He was in no mood for office work at all. The only thing that occupied his mind was his beautiful wife. When he closed his eyes, the image of her smiling flirtatiously at him came into his head. When he opened his eyes, she would disappear. At times, he feels as though she was right there, in his cabin.Gosh mein pagal ho raha hoon!
Jai had decided there and then that he will hand over all the important work over to Ranveer and some to Sahil as his first priority now was to win Bani's heart. Nothing mattered to him other than that. No matter what, he was not going to leave any stone unturned to get her back. He called them both to his office immediately. In 2 minutes both brothers were in his cabin waiting for instructions from their mamaji.
Jai very much business-like : dekho ranveer aur sahil, meine tum dono ko yaha ek bohot important kaam ke liye bulaya hain. Both Ranveer and Sahil exhanged questioning looks. What was their mamaji talking about? Did they do soemthing wrong? Hopefully not! Meine tum dono ko yaha isliye bulaya hain kyon ki mein chahta hoon ke tum dono milke yeh business thode waqt ke liye sambhalo. Is liye Ranveer tum aaj se in charge ho aur Sahil, tum hamari factories sambal lene. Samaj gaye? Both were slightly shocked that their mamaji's sudden decision of letting them take care of the business for a while. They didn't dare ask him the reason behind these, instead they just accepted his decision. Theek hain mamaji, jaise aapki marzi. With that Ranveer left with a smirk on his face. Sahil was still rooted to the floor. He was wondering very hard as to why did his mamaji take this decision all of a sudden? Surely there was some reason behind it. Sahil tumme kuch kehna hain iski bare mein? Sahil jolted out of his reverie upon hearing his mamaji's voice. Nahi kuch nahi. Aab mein chalta hoon. With that he left. Jai once again rested his head against his chair and closed his eyes. The moment he closed those lids, once again she came into his mind once again. She was smiling flirtatiously at him. There was a gleam in her eyes, drawing him closer and closer to her. Her hair was flying and gosh did she look stunning or what! Jai stood up and walked towards her only to realise that he had smacked right into his table. Ouch! Damn mein pagal ho raha hoon! Yeh kya ho gaya hain mujhe! Har jage peh mujhe Bani hi dikhti hain. Ab mujhe aur bardasht nahin ho sakta. Mujhe Bani ko vapas lana hi padega! With that he left for home.
Upon reaching Walia Mansion, his eyes sought the one person who occupied his mind day and night. But she was nowhere to be seen. Kamre me hogi. He thought. He was about to go to his room when he heard his name being called from massi's room which was nearby.
Jai: Massi apne mujhe bulaya?
Massi: Haan munna. Idhar ao. Mere pass betho.
Jai:kya baat hain massi? Aapki tabiyat to thik hain na? Massi looked at Jai. At this moment she saw concern reflecting in his eyes. But there was something else which she could clearly see in his eyes. Something was constantly torturing him and was eating him inside and inside. Something that he hid from everyone.
Massi: mujhe kuch nahi hua hain Jai. Lekin tu mujhe bata, tu thik hain na Jai?
Jai: aap mujhe yeh kyon puch rahe ho? Of course, mein bilkul thik hu massi. Massi knew that Jai would definitely not say what is it that is bothering him. Jai was the type of person who will conceal his feelings to himself and not utter a single word to anyone.
Massi: Jai, tu mujhse kuch chupa raha hain. Mein janti hoon. Kahi dino se mein dekh rahi hoon, tum or bahu ek duje se baat bhi nahi karte ho. Tum dono ke bij kuch hua hain kya? Jai upon hearing this, immediately looked away. Tears were welling up in his eyes. He didn't know what to say to massi. Massi saw Jai look away and saw tears brimming in his eyes. She was right. Something was undeniably bothering him and it concerned his wife. But what, she didn't know.
Part 8
Massi: kya hua hain Jai? Mujhe nahi bataoge? Jai could no longer take it anymore. He just hugged his massi for comfort. She was the one person who would understand his situation. Massi hugged him back dotingly, allowing him to let everything out that he had buried inside him. After a few minutes, Jai quitened down and spilled everything out to her, all that took place between him and Bani. Under what circumstances they got married, what he had done to get his revenge, how he had tortured Bani emotionally, how they got closer to one another, how he started caring for her as time flew by and how that one particular night everthing changed between them. And how after that one night, he had realised only after she left that he loved her whole-heartedly and would not be able to live without her. Lekin tum dono ek duje se itne khafa kyon ho? Jai knew that there was no point in hiding anything from Massi. He had no option but to tell her the whole truth. Massi, Bani ki ma ki maut mere haat se hui thi. Lekin mera yakin kijiye. Wo ek hadsa tha massi! Uss raat mausam bohot hi kharab tha, kuch bhi nahi dikh raha tha. Aur wo kab meri gaadi ke niche aah gayi pata hi nahin chala. Mera yakin kijiye. Wo accident tha, ek accident. Aur yeh baat Bani ko kuch dino pehle pata chal gayi aur tabse wo... He couldn't continue anymore. Tears that had welled up in his eyes started flowing down his already red cheeks from his incessant crying. Massi was taken aback that something so major had occurred in Jai and Bani's life. She couldn't believe that Bani's mother's death had occurred at Jai's hand. She couldn't blame him either. He was repeatedly saying that it was an accident. No one could have stopped that fateful night from occurring.
Jai.. Jai chup ho jao. Jo hona tha so hogaya. Accident tha na, tune jaan mujkar to nahi kiya hain na. Mein samaj sakthi hoon keh kyon Bani tumse nafrat karti hain. Itni kaam umar mein unne apni behnoke liye maa banna pada, sahara dena pada. Mein samaj sakthi hoon. Dekho Jai, meri taraf dekho. Jai looked at his Massi, his eyes all swollen from the endless crying. Mein tumare saat hoon. Tumme Bani ka dil jitna hi hoga. Is halat mein ek aurat ko apne pati ki saqt zarurat hoti hain. Apni puri takat laga de. Koi bhi madat chahiye to mujhe keh lena. Hum saab tumare saat hain. Hum saab tumari madat karenge. Apne atit ko bhool jao aur aage dekho Jai. Atit ko yaad karne mein koi faida nahi hota. Chal aab tu apne kamre mein jaa aur aaram kar. Jai: thik hain Massi. Jai felt so much better after letting everything out. Felt like as though a burden has been lifted slightly off his heart. He was grateful to the fact that at least there was somone who understood what he was going through for these past few days. He walked back to his room in a daze and was unware of the fact that Bani at that moment was walking out of the room' and before they knew it, Jai had his both arms around Bani's waist and she had her hands around his neck, eyes closed. For a moment, silence ovewhelmed the room. The only sound that could be heard was their deep breathing.
Jai's heartbeat went twice as fast. Bani had just caught hold of him to prevent her fall. He could feel her breath on his neck and it drove him mad. Again, the craving to hold her, caress her, feel her against him intensified even more. Bani was in the same state as well. She had noticed that Mr Walia was lost somewhere and by just looking at him, she too got lost somewhere and before she knew it, she had bumped right into him and had clung onto him for dear life and he had held her against him tightly yet gently. She felt so right to be in his arms, she felt so safe and warm there compared to the cold world outside. For a few minutes, they remained in each other's arms, both hoping that time will stand still.
Bani then realised what she was thinking about. She still loved this man whole heartedly even after what he had done to her family. Yes she did hate the sight of him but her love for him was too powerful that at times she would forget everything and she wont be ale to control herself. She had thought that she would convince herself to not love him and that she would cut herself off totally from him. But after coming back into his house, into his room, she had realized that she was falling for him more and more. And it wasn't helping that he was trying to get close to her and when he did that' she would loose her self-control. Slowly she withdrew back from his embrace to move away but he wouldn't even budge. His hands were still snaked around her waist and the warm touch of his hands on her slightly bare waist caused shivers to run up and down her spine. She titled her head up and noticed that his eyes were all red and that his cheeks had little tear droplets. Seeing that, her heart clenched. She did not know why but she felt like as though someone had drove a knife into her heart, piercing it sharply, hurting her like hell.
Part 9
Kya ho gaya hain Mr Walia ko? Wo kyon roh rahe hain? Inke aasoon dekh kar mujhe itni takleef kyon hoti hain?! Jab ki mein janti hoon ke wo meri mummy ke katil hain. Phir bhi kyon mere dil ko itni takleef ho rahi hain? Mere saath aisa kyon ho raha hain bhagwan'kyon' Bani struggled against his hold on her. She tried many times to get out of his hold but Mr Walia was unrelenting to let go of her. Instead he was tightening his hold on her making Bani even more restless. His touch always made her weak in the knees and always made her loose her self-control. Mr Walia, please mujhe chod dijiye. Mujhe jaana hain. Please chod dijiye. She pleaded sounding agitated a little. But Jai did not care. He was enjoying watching his wife trying to get out of his grasp. Trying ways and means to get out but being totally unsuccessful in the end and finally she had to plead with her voice. He was longing to hear her call him, longing to hear her voice. He slowly withdrew his hands from her waist, caressing the side, enjoying her shiver at his touch. He placed a passionate yet gentle kiss on her forehead before moving away from her and went to freshen up.
Bani stood rooted to the floor. Once again, he had made her loose her contol of herself and she had allowed him to touch her without resisting. KYON!! Yeh kya ho raha hain! Phir se yeh huwa aur mein kuch nahi kar pati. Apne aap par mujhe gussa ho raha hain.. Sab kuch jaanne ke baad phir bhi mein Mr Walia se behat pyaar karti hoon. Jis insaan se mein nafrat karti hoon ussi insaan se mein behat pyaar bhi karti hoon. Her eyes had welled up and tears flowed down her cheeks slowly. She made her way towards the kitchen when she bumped into Rano. Arre di aap? Aap kaisi ho? Sab thik to hain na? di.. Mein kahi dino se dekh rahi thi ke aap Mr Walia se baat bhi nahi karte.. Unse door rehti ho.. Kyon di? Upon hearing his name, her eyes welled up again and threatened to flow down but she controlled herself and stopped herself from bursting into tears. Mein thik hoon mujhe kuch nahi hua hain. Please Rano, iz bare mein mujhe tum kuch mat puchna. Mere paas koi jawab nahi hain tumare sawalo ka. She walked away from there, wiping away the tears leaving behind a puzzled Rano. Di aise kyon behave kar rahi hain? Zaroor kuch na kuch to hua hain. Mujhse unka dard dekha nahi jaata. With a determined look, she went back to her room.
In the middle of the night, Bani all of a sudden jerked awake. Something made her jolt out of her sleep. Instinctively, she felt Mr Walia's side of the bed and felt that it was empty. He was not beside her. Mr Walia itni raat ko kaha chale gaye? She wondered feeling apprehensive as to where in the world was Mr Walia so late at night. Shayad study room mein gaye honge. Mein check karke aati hoon. With that she carefully walked across towards the door in the darkness of the room. Walking carefully along the dark corridor, she reached Mr Walia's study room where she noticed that the lights were switched on. She reached out to open the door, abit hesitant at first. But nevertheless, she opened the door slowly and walked in.
She noticed someone standing by the huge windows and the curtains were flying lightly in the slight breeze. She knew it was him. Somehow she could always feel and recognise his presence. Jai, on the other hand, felt someone's presence in his study room. He knew it was her. He too like her could feel her presence each time. Such was the connection between them. Such was the love between them, each unknown of this strong emotion that resides in their hearts. Jai continued looking at his wife. In a black night gown, looking as gorgeous as ever. Her silky hair flying in the breeze, the moonlight illuminating her face. He walked towards her. Bani who was busy staring at her husband suddenly became aware of him walking towards her. She could sense that he was drinking from the way he looked at her. His eyes were fixed on her as he made his way towards her. Bani' she stood rooted to the ground. Yeh kya ho gaya hain Mr Walia ko? Aise kyon meri taraf dekh rahe hain?
Part 10
She felt her heartbeat increasing by each second as he moved towards her. His eyes'gosh his eyes had this certain twinkle in them that made her heart skip a beat and her breathing deepened. Mr Walia? She called out, surprized at her own trembling voice. A meer look from this man could cause her to loose her senses.. Even now when the only thing she wanted to do was to go far far away from him. But however hard she tried, she just couldn't bring herself to do so. She was bonded to him in every way. She had given her heart and soul to this man. She loved him yet she hated him for what he had done. Her heart refused to accept everything yet her mind was adamant on it. He, now, was just an arms length away. She could sense his burning gaze on her , penetrating right through her, making her loose whatever little control that she had.
Jai couldn't take his eyes off Bani. She was looking strikingly beautiful even after the long day. With the moonlight illuminating her face, it made her even more beautiful. Gosh he loved her. So much that he couldn't put it in words. He never knew what it felt like to be in love. He never believed in love. He believed love to be deadly. Something that destroyed a person. But now, he realised how wrong he was. Love was just the opposite. It brings with itself bliss to a person's life. Love was paradise which he realised when Bani entered his life. He never knew that love would change his life forever. Love had completely transformed him to someone who was willing to give up his life without wavering in any way. Someone who was willing to go through any kinds of hardships for the woman he loved whole heartedly. Bani' tum aaj bohot khoobsurat lag rahi hoon. He whispered softly yet seductively.
Bani got nervous. Never had Mr Walia said something like this to her. It felt great yet she was scared. She didn't know how to react. Her feet too refused to listen to her. They wouldn't even budge! It was like they were glued to the floor. He lifted his fingers and trailed them down her arm. Tumme pata hain Bani' mein tumse bohot bohot pyaar karta hoon... Tum meri zindagi mein ayi aur kab meri zindagi ban gayi'pata hi nahi chala. He held her by her shoulders, gently not wanting to hurt her and brought her close to himself, leaving just an inch of space between. Tumari yeh aankhen' inme ek ajeeb si kashish hain joh mujhe haar pal tumari taraf keechti hain' as he said that, he moved in closer and kissed her eyes, making Bani's heartbeat to go thrice its normal rate. Jab tum mujhse door jati hoon, to mere dil ke tukde tukde ho jaate hain. Aisa lagta hain jaise kisine mere dil ko chur chur kardiya ho. Aaj tak mere saath aisa kuch bhi nahin hua hain Bani. Kab hua kaise hua pata hi nahi chala' bohot pyaar karta hu main tumse.. Itna ki tumare liye apni jaan dene ko tayaar hoon. With that he just collapsed on her shoulder, his hands resting on her shoulders.
Bani stood, rooted to the floor. Her breathing deep, her heart beating crazily fast. She could feel Mr Walia's breath on her neck, caressing her skin, making her want to loose herself in him. Did he really mean what he said? Itna pyaar karte hain mujhse? Yeh sab kaise ho gaya.. Nahin.. Nahin wo mujhse pyaar nahi karte' sab dikhawa hain.. Mera dil jitna chate hain. Lekin.. Unki aakhon mein maine apne liye pyaar dekha hain'. Nahin nahin' yeh nahin ho sakta' just then she felt his hands wrap around her waist and he had slightly shifted his face. Before they both toppled over one another, with great effort she managed to sit him upright on the couch. She got the pillow and blanket and kept them in place. Just as she was about to get up from the couch, she realised thatMr Walia had kept his head on her lap and had gotten really comfortable there! fast asleep like a baby. Bani had no choice but to sleep on the couch with him. She realised, the more she wanted to stay away from him, the more she got closer to him. With a sigh, she leaned against the couch and fell asleep, not realising that her hand was resting comfortably on him.
Part 11
The bright morning's sunlight hit Bani's head with a thundering force and she narrowed her eyes and sheltered her face from the bright sunlight that was filtering through the huge windows. It took her awhile to realise that she was not in her bed but on the couch in the study room. Suddenly she felt something stir on her lap and when she looked down, she realised that it was her husband lying on her lap all snuggled up to her, sleeping peacefully like a baby and there was a slight smile playing on his lips. He looked so innocent like as though there was no such thing called tension in his life. She reached out to touch his cheeks but stopped halfway. Yeh mein kya karne ja rahi thi? Nahin mein aisa nahin kas sakti. Mein chah kar bhi unki nasdeek nahin ja sakti. Yeh mere parivaar ke saath dhoka hoga. Lekin mera dil kehta hain ki kuch aur baat hain. Mera dil yeh sab manne ko taiyaar hi nahin hain. Just then, Jai stirred again causing her to break away from her thoughts. His eyes flew open and he looked up to see Bani staring at him. Seeing her look at him made him loose himself in those lovely eyes.
They stared at each other for what seemed like eternity. Both not wanting to look away from each other. Both wanting to lay like this forever, yet they couldn't. After a few moments, Bani finally spoke up, Mr Walia, mujhe jana hain. Aap zara.. She left her sentence uncomplete for he had gotten up and was now sitting beside her. She got up and turned to leave when he called her back. Bani, kal raat keh liye im sorry. Agar galathi se mujhse kuch galat ho gaya ho ya meine kuch galat keh diya ho to mujhe maaf kardena. Mein.. But before he could complete what he was going to say, Bani had already left the room leaving behind a shattered Jai. Once again she had snubbed him and it hurted him like hell. He couldn't control the tears that had welled up in his eyes and they just flowed down his cheeks. He still remembered what occurred last night. And he meant every single word that he had said. Ever word that he had said had come out straight from his heart. He had no regrets as to what he had said to her. Yet he apologised to her'for what he didn't know. He quickly wiped away his tears and went to freshen up.
(jigyasa's room)
Jigyasa was pacing up and down in her room. Hands balled into a fist. Eyes raging with fire. If anyone peeked into her room at this moment, he could have sweared that there was smoke coming out from her ears! Just then Ranveer came into her room and was quite shocked seeing his mother looking like a volcano almost about to erupt. Kya huan maa? He asked. Jigyasa turned around to glare at her son. Ranveer for a moment took a step back. KUCH KARO RANVEER! MEIN AAB BARDASAHT NAHIN KAR SAKTI!!! IN TINO BEHEN KO AAB MEIN BARDAASHT NAHIN KAR SAKTI!!! KUCH KARO RANVEER!!!! Ranveer did not know what to do. Finally his mum had spoken up. Since the day at the hospital a few days ago when Jai mama had slapped her, she had totally gone all quiet and kept to herself. Finally today she had let it all out. Maa tum chinta maat karo. Mein kuch karta ho. Bas aab thode din mein wo is ghar ke bahar, hamare zindagi se bahar honge. Nahin Ranveer! Thode din mein nahin! Tumse to koi kaam hota hi nahin! Jigyasa aab in tino behen ko apne raaste par le aiye gi! Yeh mera vaada hoga! Goodbye dixit sisters! With that she laughed haughtily and was joined in by Ranveer. Jigyasa then grabbed her handphone and makes a call to someone.
(dadi's room)
Massi and dadi sat on the bed looking depressed. Both were getting worried about Jai and Bani. They couldn't bear to see this two drifting apart more and more as each day passed by. They knew that they loved the other deeply but both were refraining from admiting it. Kya kare Biji? Mujhse Jai aur Bani ki yeh dooriyan aab dekhi nahin jati. Pata nahi yeh sab kyon ho raha hain. Ek duje se pyaar to karte hain lekin izhaar nahi karte. Kuch socho Biji kuch socho. Mujhe in dono ko kareeb lana hain. Inke liye kya kare Biji? Dadi turned to look at Massi and said, haan billo, mujhse bhi nahin dekha jata. Par hum kya kar sakte hain, billo? With that both went into deep thinking. Suddenly, dadi exclaimed and enthusiastically said Idea!!
Part 12
Dadi was smiling from ear to ear as she whispered a superb idea that she had just thought of to Massi. After explaining the whole plan to Massi, both of them laughed like anything! Are Biji! Tussi great ho!! Massi said in between her laughter. So to hu Billo!! Dadi replied and both of them went into another fit of laughter until both couldn't take it anymore and had to stop. Chalo Biji, kuch karna hoga na hamme? With a devilish grin on their faces, both did a high-5 and left their room to put their plan into action.
Jai was in office, once again lost in his thoughts. He recalled all the special and beautiful moments that he had spent with Bani. He recalled the times when he mocked her, humiliated her and hurt her. He recalled how she had silently endured everything without a single complaint. He recalled how she took care of him'.for the first time in his life, someone took care of him, someone cared about him. He recalled the time when he insulted her to no ends when she took Anu's mistake upon herself just to save the family's honor. He recalled the time when he had gifted her a pair of bangles and remembered how she had blushed. Thinking about her blushing made him smile to himself. He was so wrong aboout this woman. He wondered how he had not seen this woman's inner beauty before. Now when he had realised how much she meant to him, circumstances had created a distance between them. How he wished he could go back in time and undo every horrible thing that he had done and said to her. With a sigh, he went back to his work, well actually trying to get back to his work as nowadays, he wasn't really able to concentrate on his work with Bani being on his mind day and night!
(back at home, in the kitchen)
Massi and Dadi were preparing lunch for Jai, cooking all his favourie food, with a devilish grin on their faces. After packing the food, Massi called for Bani. Ji massi? Apne mujhe bulaya? She said upon reaching the kitchen. Haan bahu, yeh meine munna ka khana banaya hain. Tum zara office jake de do'aaj jaldi mein tha to lena bhool gaya Bani stood without any expression on her face. Yeh kya ho raha hain?? Kyon ho raha hain?? Main Mr Walia se door jana chahti hoon aur halat mujhe inki aur kareeb la raha hain. Bani was jolted out of her thoughts when she heard Massi saying Kya hua Bani? Jaldi ja na, munna intezaar kar raha hoga. Massi knew exactly what was going on in Bani's head. But she had no choice but to do this. She had to bring Jai and Bani closer, no matter what. Bani on the other hand had no choice but to take the food to Jai. Thik hain Massi, mein chalti hoon. With that she left. As soon as she was out of sight, Massi and Dadi had busrt out laughing and in between did a high-5!
(Jai's office)
Bani finally knocked on Mr Walia's door after hesitating for a while. Come in, she heard him say. She stepped in and saw him busy working on his laptop. She didn't want to disturb him but at the same time wanted to give him his lunch and go away as soon as possible. Mr Walia? She called out. Jai who was busy typing away on his laptop instinctively stopped at hearing her voice. Bani had come to his office. He looked up and saw his beautiful wife in a mesmerising baby blue sari, with matching jewelery, hair let down making her look like an angel and in her hand was his lunch. For a moment, he just stared at her, admiring her beautiful face that seemed to be glowing.
Part 13
Finally he spoke up, arre Bani tum yaha? Ao betho na, khadi kyon ho. She walked briskly towards his table and kept the food on his table. Mr Walia, mein yahan bethne nahin ayi hoon. Massi ne apke liye khana bheja hain. Khalije ga. She said coldly piercing Jai's heart. He closed his eyes to stop the tears threatening to flow out. Thik hain, he managed to say. He opened the tiffinbox and although he had no mood to eat, he started to eat as he didn't want to hurt Massi's feelings. After Bani saw that he was eating, she quickly made her way towards the door and was about to step out when she heard Mr Walia coughing terribly hard.
She turned around and saw that he had tears rolling down his cheeks and was coughing like anything! She quickly rushed to the side table and grabbed the jar of water and poured him a glass of water and rushed to him, Mr Walia, pani pijiye! And she handed him the glass to drink which he gulped it down. After sometime, he calmed down and his coughing had stopped. However he began sneezing like anything now! Yeh kya ho gaya hain Mr Walia ko? All of a sudden he starts coughing and sneezing which refuses to stop on top of it! After what seemed like eternity, his sneezing has stopped. Bani all the while had forgotten all her anger and had been patting his back to calm him down. She walked over to the side table and poured him another glass of water and handed it to him. Thanks..he managed to say in between his sniffing. After drinking, he looked slightly better. However his nose had turned red from the sneezing and his eyes were watering from the coughing. Kya ho gaya aapko? Bani asked, concerned.
Jai turned to look at his wife who was towering over him and was patting his back. The look on her face clearly showed that she was concerned. That thought brought a smile to his face. Haan mein thik hoon' wo khane mein mirchi kuch zyaada hi thi' aur mujhe zyaada mirchi pasand nahin hain' zyaada khane se mera hal yahi ho jata hain' he said sheepishly. Bani couldn't help but laugh seeing her husband all embarassed. He looked really comical ! He looked up at Bani and saw her laughing away non-stop, holding her stomach. After a very long time, he had seen her laughing so freely. And the smile on her face further enhanced her beauty and he couldn't help but admire her once again.
Bani suddenly felt his gaze penetrating through her and she stopped her laughing. Mr Walia was looking at her so intensely that it caused a shiver to run down her spine. Er Mr Walia, mujhe lagta hain ke humme ghar jana chahiye' apki tabiyat bhi thik nahin hain..She stopped herself from saying something which she didn't want to say at any cost and instead added on, Aur mein nahin chahti ki Massi pareshan ho'isliye ghar chalte hain. Jai's heart sank at hearing the last sentence. She was worried for Massi only. But somehow, her actions spoke more than words. He knew that she was concerned about him. With a slight hope, he got up only to fall back in his chair. In one second, Bani came rushing to him and kept her hand on his shoulders. Kya huwa? She asked anxiously. Pata nahin, I feel very weak..he answered tiredly. Aap uthiye, mein madad karti hoon. He stood up supported by Bani. She immediately slid her arm around his waist and he automatically put his arm around her shoulder. For a few moments, Jai and Bani held onto each other, looking into the others eyes, both wanting this moment to last forever.
Part 14
Jai continued to look at Bani. It was a great feeling to have her so close to him. It felt great to have her holding him. Her hair was slightly flying and it tickled his neck creating all sorts of sensations inside him. On the other hand, Bani's heart was racing like anything. She had allowed herself to go close to him even when she didn't want to. But she was helpless. He needed her right now. His health mattered a lot to her. She could feel his grip tighten on her shoulder and felt herself being pulled closer to him. But all that didn't matter to her now. She had to get him home. Finally she managed to say,Mr Walia chaliye. Jai was jolted out of his reverie and just nodded. Carefully, Jai and Bani walked out of their office with Bani supporting Jai. They both proceeded to their car and Bani opened the door and let him in first. She followed then and slid next to him.
Jai was feeling really terrbile. His headache had gotten worse. And his throat was paining because of the food. Everyone knew that he couldn't take too much of chilli then how come there was so much of chilli in his food today? His head was spinning so terrbly that he couldn't even think straight as to how there was so much of chilli in his food. He held his head in his hand and massaged it hoping that it would stop throbbing. Bani saw that Mr Walia was holding his head in his hands and he was in a terrble plight. Kya huwa Mr Walia? She asked. Bani, mere sar mein bohot dard ho raha hain. Its hurting a lot' he said painfully. Bani was really worried. She couldn't bear to see him in so much of pain. Forgetting all her anger, she went further towards the window and made him lie his head down on her lap with his head facing slightly inwards towards her stomach.
Bani reached out and gently massaged Jai's head hoping to calm his headache down. As she leaned even further to massage his head, Jai found himself facing Bani's stomach and as she leaned in even more, his face brushed against her tummy which felt warm and nice. He thanked his lucky stars that he had gotten a headache and had gotten a chance to get close to Bani. He certainly wouldn't mind getting a headache everyday if Bani took care of him like how she was doing now! It felt great to be so close to his wife. It felt great that she was worried about his health and cared for him. Taking full advantage of the situation, Jai very nicely snuggled closer to her tummy and fell asleep.
Ab kaisa lag raha hain Mr Walia? Bani asked, still massaging softly. Mr Walia? She asked once again. To her surprise she found out that her dear husband had fallen asleep on her lap like a baby! And there was no way she could get him off! He was snuggling so close to her that it was difficult to move him over. With no choice left, she just let him sleep on her lap. With a sigh, she glanced down at Jai and just stared at him. He looked so innocent whilst asleep. There was a smile playing on his lips, what was causing him to smile she had no idea. All throughout the journey to Walia House, Bani was just staring at Jai. She just couldn't help it! Bani was jolted out of her staring when their car stopped all of a sudden and she realised that they had reached their destination. Now she had to wake Jai up. He was sleeping so peacefully that she didn't feel like waking him up. Mr Walia uthiye. Ghar aa gaya hain. Mr Walia uthiye na. Bani pleaded. But Jai wouldnt even budge. Mr Walia!! She screamed, hoping to wake him up. Kya?!! Kya huwa?? Jai woke up, startled by the shout from Bani. Bani on the other hand, couldn't help but laugh seeing Mr Walia all frightened and he looked hilarious with his hair all messed up. Kuch nahin huwa hain' Mr Walia'Bani said in between her laughing. She got out of the car, still laughing and helped Mr Walia out. Jai, grumbling got out and kept his arm around Bani, who had completely forgotten her anger and both walked towards the house supported by each other.
Part 15
Bani carefully helped Jai walk to the house. They were met by Massi and Dadi at the entrance. Both exchanged a look of happiness. Pretending that they didn't know anything, Massi and Dadi both exchanged questioning looks and asked worriedly, Arre bahu kya hua Munna ko? Tum dono thik to ho? Bani smiled and replied assuringly, hum dono thik hain Massi, aapko chinta karne ki koi zarorat nahin hain. Mr Walia ke sar mein dard ho raha tha aur kamzor ho gaye the. Bani looked up towards Jai who was looking at her so intensely that she had to look away. Massi and Dadi on the other hand were trying their best to control their laughter. Dekha Munna, itna kaam mat kara karo. Agar tum bimar par jaoge to phir Bani ka khyal kon rakega? Jai, aajse tum kaam nahin karoge. Yeh mera order hain. Ranveer aur Sahil hain na kaam karne ke liye. Tum sirf aaram karo aur meri bahu ka khyal raka karo. Chalo ap upar jao aur aaram karo. Before Jai and Bani could say anything, Massi made them go up. As soon as the two were out of sight, Massi and Dadi burst out laughing! They laughed and laughed until they were crying!! In between their laughing, Massi said to Dadi, Biji!! Hamara plan kamyab ho gaya!! Aapne dekha kaise wo dono aaye the? Ek duje ki bahon mein? Biji hame aise aur karna chahiye! Mujhe in dono ko ek saat hamesha ke liye dekhna chahti hoon. By this time, both of them had quietened down and were smiling at their success. Haan billo, tu sahi keh rahi hain. Chal hum kuch aur sochte hain. Smiling, they both left to think of another fantastic idea that could bring Jai and Bani together.
Bani carefully helped Jai on to the bed and gave him some headache pills and made him sleep so as to get rid of the headache. Jai in the meantime was on cloud nine. Firstly, Bani had come so close to him and it felt good to feel her against him. Secondly, she showed how much she cared about him and his health that in an instant she had forgotten all her anger and had come to help him. Once again he thanked his lucky stars and thanked whoever it was that had put the extra amount of chilli in his food. If not for that person, he would never had gotten this close to Bani. With a smile, he drifted off to sleep. Bani on the other hand sat beside him till he was fast asleep. She looked at him sleep with a smile playing on his lips and couldn't help but smile. She wondered what was he thinking that could have caused him to smile to sleep. With a sigh she got up and was about to leave when she felt something hold her back.
She turned around slowly only to see that Jai had caught hold of her sari's pallu while falling asleep and she hadnt noticed it. She walked back towards the bed and carefully got her sari's pallu out of his hold. She noticed him shift abit but he didn't wake up. She reached out to teach his face when all of a sudden an image of her mother came into her mind. Immediately she stopped herself and left the room as fast as she could. Yeh meh kya karne jaa rahi thi? Kyon meh apne aap ko rok nahin sakti? Waqt ne mujhe aise dorahe peh khada kar diya hain jaha ek taraf meri mummy hain aur ek taraf mera pyaar. Tears that had formed in her eyes unwillingly rolled down her cheeks as she pondered over how life had brought her at crossroads where she had no clue as where to head to.
At night, Bani entered her room to check up on Jai to see if he needed anything. As she walked towards their bed, she couldn't help but notice how innocent he looked while asleep. He had moved and his right arm was spread out on her side of the bed and he was facing her side. Slowly, she walked up to their bed. Since he was fast asleep, she decided to let him sleep. She then walked to her wardrobe and got her night-dress out and went to change. After changing, she went to stand near the window. A soft breeze made the curtains fly slightly and she wrapped her arms around herself. She looked out and saw the moon shining brightly as always. The stars in the sky sparkled like little diamonds, bringing to her a sense of calmness. Unwillingly, a single tear rolled down her cheek. Slowly, Bani turned around and her eyes fell on him once again. Jai, the one who occupied her heart, the one she loved immensely, the father of her child, her whole world and also the one who snatched her childhood away from her. However, deep down, she somehow just knew that there was more than meets the eye. But what was it?
Part 16
What could it be that was hidden from her? What was the mystery about her mother's death that she didn't know? Why did it seem to her that Mr Walia was innocent? All these questions kept on ringing in her head everytime she thought about it. Maybe Roshni was involved too. Just then, she heard faint murmuring coming from their bed. Worriedly, she walked to their bed and sat beside Mr Walia who tossing and turning and there was beads of perspiration on his forehead. He kept on calling out for her. Bani! Nahin tum mujhe chodkar nahin ja sakti! Bani!! Bani's heart clenched. He must be going through such a hard time. Even in his sleep, he was thinking about her. She reached out and shook him to wake him up. Mr Walia, uthiye! Mr Walia uthiye!! Mein yahin hoon! Uthiye pls! Just then he woke up and sat bolt upright.
Seeing Bani beside him made Jai heave a sigh of relief. It was just a nightmare that had seemed so real. Bani! Tum mujhe chodkar nahin jaogi na! pls mat jao mujhe chodke. Mein ji nahin paunga! With that, he grabbed her and pulled her into a hug. Bani was too dazed as to what just transpired. She knew she should stop all this but she had no control over her feelings. She had been longing to be in her husband's arms and now here she was in his arms. It felt so right, so safe and so warm. She could no longer take it and she just wrapped her arms around him, letting him feel her warmth and her love for him. Mr Walia, mein yahin hoon. Mein kahin nahin jaa rahi. Aap pani pijiye aur so jaiye. Thik hain? She asked as she pulled back. When she looked at him, she found a pair of eyes staring at her clearly reflecting love for her. For a few moments, they just looked into each others eyes as though communicating through those very eyes.
Bani was the first one to look away. She poured a glass of water and handed it to him to which he drank all the while looking at her. Ab aap so jaiye. Jai just listened and lied back down. Bani covered him up with the blanket and went over to the other side to sleep. She stayed awake for a while to make sure that he was asleep. While waiting, she suddenly felt a hand holding hers. She looked down and saw that Jai had taken hold of her hand and was hugging it close to his heart. Yeh kya ho gaya hain Mr Walia ko? Itna pyaar karte hain mujhse? Kyon itna pyaar karte hain??! Jab wo jaante ki mein unse'. She couldn't continue. Tears fell from her eyes and rolled down her cheeks.
Mein kya karoon? Kuch samaj mein nahin aah raha hain'ek taraf meri mummy hain aur taraf mera pyaar. Kya mera faisla sahi tha, Mr Walia ko na maaf karne ka? Shayad meine kuch zyada hi inko saza di hain' nahin mein aisa nahin soch sakti' lekin mein karu to kya karoon? Hey Bhagwan, kuch to raah dikah mujhe ke mujhe kya karna chahiye! Just then, she felt her hand getting squeezed again. When she looked down, she saw that Jai had moved closer to her in such a way that his head was nearly touching her stomach and she could his breath caressing her skin at her tummy and he had tighten his hold on her hand and had brought it even more closer to his heart. He was sleeping so peacefully like a baby. A smile appeared on her face just by looking at him. Just once she thought, as she brought her hand to his head and gently caressed it affectionately and soon she too fell asleep with the hope that everything will be alright between them.
Part 17
Once again bright sunlight filtered in through the windows of Jai and Bani's bedroom making the whole room shine. The golden rays of the sun hit Jai's eyes making him squint slightly in the sudden light on his face. Opening his eyes slowly, he realised that he had slept for quite a long time. Shifting to get up, he realised that Bani had fallen asleep in a sitting position and that he had been holding on to her hand for the whole night. In her sleep, she had brought her other hand to rest on his chest. Gently as ever, he lifted her hand and placed it beside her. Very quietly, he got up and sat upright. He was still holding onto her hand. Looking up to her face, he saw that there was a small smile playing on her lips and that surprised him. What could have caused her to smile in her sleep, he wondered. Bringing their joined hands to his lips, he placed a gentle kiss on her hand, in his mind vowing never to let go of her hand and promising to himself, that he would always be with her like how she had been ever since they had gotten married.
Gently, releasing his hand from hers, he placed her hand on the bed. Then ever so tenderly, he brought his arms around her waist. She was so warm that he just felt like engulfing her in his arms. But he didn't have the heart to do that. She was sleeping so peacefully! Gently he made her lie down on the bed. As Jai was about to leave their bed, he was pulled back and nearly landed on Bani. While he was helping her to lie on the bed, Bani had grabbed hold of his shirt and was cluthing it so tightly. A wide smile formed on his face. It was like as though, she too never wanted him to leave her ever. Gently, he released her hand from his shirt. He then covered her in the warm blanket. For a few moments, he just sat there admiring her. Looking so beautiful even in her sleep, looking just like an angel. A soft breeze blew in and he saw her hugging the blanket to herself. How he wished he was that blanket! He reached out and pulled a strand of hair back from her face. Kitni masoom lag rahi hain. Mein tumse vaada karta hoon Bani, ke yeh muskurahat tumare chehre peh hamesha rahegi. Bohot pyaar karta hoon mein tumse. Yeh dil sirf tumare liye dhadak ta hain.. Sirf tumare liye' saying that, he bent down and placed a tender soft kiss on her forehead and went to freshen up.
(jigyasa's room)
Haan kab aah rahi hoo baba? Kitni der lag rahi hain tumme yaha aane ki. Tum janti hoon na ke kya ho raha hain yaha.. Uss ladki ki vaje se.. (person on the line) haan mein janti hoon. Don't worry Jigyasa, mujhe sab pata hain. Isiliye to meine mera sara kam yaha pura kar diya hain. Bas kuch hi dino mein, mein vaha hoongi Walia Mansion mein, aapna kaam pura karne keliye. Both Jigyasa and the person on the other line, laugh haughtily. Who was Jigyasa talkin to? What was their plan? Only she and her anonymous caller knew.
(dadi's room)
Massi and Dadi were once again, sitting on the couch in the room. Both were thinking hard as to what their next step would be to bring Jai and Bani closer. Usually, Dadi would be getting all sorts of ideas, however today her brain just didn't seem to be working! Biji kuch idea aya kya?Massi asked anxiously, hoping that Biji would have gotten another fabulous idea. Are nahin yaar. Pata nahin' aaj mera dimak kuch kaam hi nahin kar raha hain' Both let out a sigh. They needed to think of something fast or not Jai and Bani would never get closer to each other willingly. Just then, Massi exclaimed, Idea Biji idea! Kyun na hum sub kuch dino ke liye bahaar ghum ne jaye. Aur kuch aisa kare ke Jai aur Bani waha pohoch hi na paye. Wo dono kuch aur hi jaga par pohoch jaye. Kaise laga idea Biji? Massi said with a smirk. Oi Billo, mujhe pata nahin tha ki tu itni shararti hain! With that both chuckled to themselves at having come up with yet another brilliant plan.
Part 18
Kyon na hum un dono ko humare farm house peh bhej deh aur hum log Goa chale jaenge. Jai ki car ka driver ko hum sab samjha lenge. Mein janti hoon, akele mein, yeh dono zaroor nasdik ayenge. Kyun Biji? Kaise hain mera idea? Massi looked over at Dadi who just sat there silent for a moment and then slowly a wide grin appeared on her face. Wah Billo Wah! Tusi great ho yaar! Kamal ka idea hain! Tu thik keh rahi hain. Akele mein yeh dono aur pass aajayenge. Chal hum pehle Jai ki car ka driver ko sab kuch samja leh aur phir sham ko Jai aur baki sub log ko yeh bahaar gumne wali baat batayenge. With that discussed, both of them went to meet Jai's driver and explained their plan to him as to what he was suppose to do on the day of the trip which was to take Jai and Bani on the route to the airport but pretend that there was something wrong with the car upon reaching near the farmhouse which is located on route to the airport. The driver was more than glad to do this job as he too wanted his sir and ma'am to be together. Now all that was left was to convince Jai and the rest of the family members for the trip.
(ranveer's room)
Ranveer like always was in a raging bull mode and was screaming his head off in his room because he couldn't find the matching tie and he was already late for office. Meri tie kahaan hain!!! Sara room mein doondh liya par kahin nahin mil rahi hain!! Raashi!!! Raashi!!! Ab yeh kahaan chali gayi?!! As soon as Raashi had heard her husband's booming voice calling for her, she immediately dropped what she was doing and ran as fast as she could to her room. Ji'ji k..kya hua? Kuch kam tha? she managed to say once she calmed down. Ranveer turned around upon hearing his wife's voice. She looked as frightened as a rat and it was quite cute watching her staring at him like as though he was going to pounce on her any moment. Wait? What was he thinking? Did he just say that Raashi was looking cute? Mein pagal to nahin ho gaya hoon? thinking to himself. Getting back to his normal mood, he angrily asked, meri tie kahaan hain?!! Kitni baar mujhe kehna padega ki meri chizo ko mat chuo!! Samaj mein nahin aata tume?? Saying that he took a step closer to Rashi who had tears forming in her eyes. Controlliing them, she said as calmly as ever, Wo..wo meine waha dressing table par rakhi hain..taki aapko jaldi se mil sake' wo waha hain' she pointed towards their dressing table. Ranveer looked at where she was pointing and there was his tie, neatly kept there for him. He must have overlooked the table. Not wanting to show his embarassment, he quickly mumbled just loud enough for her, thik hain tum jao. Raashi knowing better, quickly left the room. As soon as she stepped out of the room, a smile formed on her face with what just happened. How she wished Ranveer would accept her like how she has accepted him.
(Jai's office)
Jai once again sat in his office thinking about what has transpired yesterday. How Bani had taken care of him, how she had hugged him back willingly when he awoke from a nightmare, how he held her hand close to his heart whilst asleep and how she had held onto him when he was leaving the bed in the morning. Just being close to her made his day. How he yearned to have her in his arms, how he wished to see her beside him every morning when he woke up, how he wanted to see her the first thing when he came back from work, how he wished that they could live a life of a normal happy couple. But that seemed like a dream. He knew that Bani might never forgive him for what had happened but still he had the hope that she will. He was glad that he had given all of the important office work to Ranveer and Sahil. He knew that he would not be able to concentrate on work with Bani being on his mind all day. With a sigh, he glanced at the clock on the wall which read 6 o'clock. He thought that it would be better to leave for home than sit here in the office with nothing to do.
Back in Walia Mansion, Bani sat on her bed thinking about her life which changed drastically just a few days ago. She just knew that there was something else to everything. Her heart kept on repeating that there was more than meets the eyes. And she had to find out the truth. If Mr Walia was innocent, then he was getting punished for nothing. First and foremost she had to look through her mother's items, perhaps she might find something there that might lead her to the answer. She was still in her throughts when Jai came into the room. Seeing her lost in her thoughts made him stop and just look at her. In a pink slightly transparent sari and a pair of earrings and her mangalsutra around her neck, she was looking stunning as ever. How he wished that he had treasured her earlier during their marriage. Just then a breeze from outside caused her hair to fly and her sari too flew to the side revealing her tummy. She looked even stunning. At that moment, he just felt like engulfing her in his arms but he knew he couldn't. He noticed that she stood up and went to close the windows. When she turned around, then only did she notice him there. Bani saw Jai staring at her and it felt like as though his eyes were penetrating right through her. She stopped walking only to see Jai walking towards her, his eyes fixed on her and only her.
Part 19
Bani stood rooted to the ground as she saw her husband approach her with his eyes fixed on her, not even once did they leave her. She could feel her heart beat increasing with each step he took. Even now, just his mere presence could cause her heart beats to increase. Jai walked slowly towards Bani. His gaze never left her for even a second. Finally, he reached her and she was just an arms length away. Their room by then had gone so silent that both were able to hear the other's heart beat. Both Jai and Bani stood silent, looking intently at the other, not knowing what was happening to both of them. Jai knew that if he started to talk, she would just snub him like always and that always left him heartbroken. Instead, he leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and smiled to her just a little and went to freshen up.
Bani stood still for a while, her eyes closed trying to calm herself down with what just happened. Kyun wo aisa karte hain! Kyon mein kuch nahin kar pati!! Kyun kyun kyun?!! Kyun wo mere nasdik aate hain jab ki wo jante hain ki mein unse nafrat... she didn't have the heart to continue her sentence. She herself didn't want to say it as it brought immense pain to her and it was unbearable for her. Before she broke down completely, Bani decided that she had to get to the bottom of everything. Jai in the meanwhile, was smiling to himself as he had seen his wife close her eyes and trying to calm herself down. Even now, he had the same effect on her and somehow that made him happy. He now had to make a place in her heart once again and he was willing to do anything for it. He was more than determined to win her heart back. After freshening up, he went down for dinner with a hope that Bani would accept him again.
After dinner, like usual, all of the family members sat down together in the living room and chatted like usual. Jai however, would never be paying attention to what the rest of the family members were talking about. His attention was always on Bani who like everytime would sit as far away from him as possible and would once in a while glance in his direction and quickly avert her gaze when she saw that he was looking at her. Both Massi and Dadi had been observing this everytime they sat in the living room. Both decided that this was the chance now to tell everyone about the trip. Jai beta? massi called out. Jai was jolted out of his reverie and replied back, Haan Massi? Beta maine socha hain ki kyun na hum sub bahaar ghumne jaye? Kyun na hum thode din ke liye Goa chale jaye? Sab log ko acha bhi lagega aur mahol bhi badal jayega. Tum kya kehti ho Bani? massi asked Bani who was lost in her thoughts. Upon hearing her name, Bani jerked from her thoughts and said, jaisa aap samje. Both Massi and Dadi looked at each other and with their eyes, communicated that things were going just right. To thik hain, hum kal hi nikalte hain. Sab log ready ho jana. Main tickets ka intezaam kar leti hoon. Thik hain Jai? Jai looked at Massi and nodded, giving his approval. To chalo, aab tum sab so jao.. Kal subha nikalna bhi hain. With that everyone left for their respective rooms. Bani, not wanting to go to her room with Jai, stayed behind for a while, pretending to do some work in the kitchen. Jai knew that she was avoiding him and he knew better than to go and talk to her. Instead he left for his room. From the corner of her eyes, Bani saw Jai leave the room and heaved a sigh of relief. After finishing her work in the kitchen that she had found, she too made her way to their bedroom. By the time, she reached her room, she saw that he was already fast asleep and she was glad that he was. She changed into her night clothes and went over to her side of the bed and lied down and within a few moments she was fast asleep. Jai on the other side opened his eyes, he had been pretending to be asleep as he was waiting for Bani to go to sleep first. He always made sure that she was asleep before he went to sleep. Assured that she was asleep, he too drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, everyone had gathered in the dining room for breakfast. Since it was going to take some time to reach their destination, Massi had asked Tony to make some heavy breakfast. After having breakfast, Tony was instructed to get all the lugguages down. Meanwhile, the rest of the family were just sitting around and chit-chatting. Massi and Dadi were the most excited about this trip as only they knew what they had planned for Jai and Bani and they were both praying hard that it would be a success. By then, Tony had placed all their lugguages in the respective cars and announced that they were ready to leave. Bani was going along with Massi and Dadi when Massi said, Arre beta, tu hamare saath kyun aah rahi, Munna ke saath ja, uski gadi mein jaana hain na tumme. Chal chal, ja uske saath. With that Massi made Bani go with Jai and she couldn't say anything as she would have no answers to Massi's questions. With a sigh, she walked towards Jai's car where he was just about to sit in and unkwown to her, he had a huge smile playing on his lips.
Part 20
Jai proceeded to sit at the far right of the car seat, waiting happily for his dear wife to come and sit with him. By luck, his driver was going to drive them to the airport and because of that, he would get the chance to sit beside Bani. Just then, the door opened and in came his beautiful wife wearing a simple white punjabi suit with matching earrings and her mangalsutra dangling from her neck. From the look on her face, he could tell that she wasn't too happy with going in the same car as him. But still he was content that she was right there beside him. The shutting of the door made him turn in her direction and he saw that she sat slightly far from him and she was looking out of the window. At that moment, he felt like as though someone had pierced his heart and he had to close his eyes for a moment to calm himself down. In the most calm and controlled way, he managed to say, Chalo driver.
Bani had noticed the quivering in his voice and that made her heart clench. Was she being to harsh towards him? No no.. She shouldn't be thinking like that. It would be unfair towards her mother and her sisters as well. Letting out a sigh, she wondered how circumstances caused her to be torn between the love of her life and her mother. She had no idea what else was in store for her. Closing her eyes to stop all the questions from flooding her head, she leaned back and fell asleep'.somehow, she just felt so exhausted. Jai had heard her sigh and then close her eyes and fall asleep. Seeing her like that caused his heart to ache. Because of him, she had go through all this in this condition. How he wished nothing had happened that fateful night'how he wished that he could erase that night away from his life' how he wished.. Before he could finish his sentence, he felt a warm hand wrap itself around him. He turned and saw that Bani was resting her head on his shoulder and that she had wrapped her arm around him. Not able to stop himself, he brought his arm around her waist and brought her closer to himself. He thought that that would wake her up but instead, she had snuggled even closer to him! And the feeling was amazing! From the front, the sight that the driver saw from his mirror brought a smile to his face which widened at the thought of what he was soon going to do.
After riding in the car for about 20 mins, Jai's car suddenly stopped in the middle of nowhere causing Bani to jerk awake. She suddenly realised what she had done in her sleep. Not wanting to show her embarassment, she just kept her head down and made an attempt to explain only to be stopped by Jai saying, Koi baat nahin. Mein dekhke aata hoon. She just nodded and with that he got off the car and went to the front of the car where he saw his driver leaning over examining the car engines. Kya huwa? Gadi kyun ruk gai? After closing the front cover of the car, his driver then replied, Sir gadi karab ho gayi. Patani kya ho gaya hain. Ab to mechanic go bulwana hi padega. Yeh gadi to ab chalne wali nahin hain. Looking around, he suddenly exclaimed, Arre Sir yeh to aapka farmhouse peh jane ka raasta hain. Aap aur madam waha kyun nahin chale jate? Tab tak mein gadi ka kuch intezaam karta hoon. Jai nodded in agreement. That was the only thing that they could do now. He wondered whether Bani would agree. He would have to call Massi too and tell her that they were not going to be able to make it.
By then, Bani too had stepped out of the car and was wondering what had happened. Bani, gadi karab ho gayi hain. Hum baki sab log ke saath nahin jaa payenge. Yaha thi thode dur hamara farmhouse hain. Humko waha peh hi rukna padega. From the look on her face, he knew that she didn't like the idea of just the two of them in the whole farmhouse. Just to assure her, he added on, Bani trust me. That made her look up at him and she knew that he must have noticed her discomfort and she knew that he meant what he had said. Yes she could trust him. She had to. Her heart told her so and she was going to follow her heart. Smiling slightly at him, Jai and Bani began their walk to the farmhouse, leaving their driver by the car who was smiling from ear to ear.
Part 21
Jai and Bani had been walking for almost 10 minutes when they finally reached the magnificent farmhouse. The caretaker must have seen them approaching as he was at the front door ready to welcome its owners. Aaye sir, aaye madam. Main garden mein tha jab meine aab dono ko dekha. Aaya na undar chaliye. Mein aapke liye chai lata hoon. With that, he went in to make for them tea. Jai was waiting for Bani to go in first and she too noticed it. Not wanting to make any conversation with him, she proceeded to go in. Like the last time, she was at awe at the d'cor of the famehouse. It was just so beautifully made that Bani had fallen in love with it when saw it for the first time. Never had she ever dreamt of seeing such a beautiful house. Memories of their last visit came flooding to her head. And she couldn't help but smile. How Massi had made them eat from the same plate' how she was slowly falling for him. Not wanting to think of the same thing everytime, she settled herself down on the huge couch in the living room. Jai in the meantime had been watching her all the while. How she looked with awe at the house and how a smile formed at her lips and then back to with no expression on her face. She now sat on the couch looking at everywhere but him. Even though it hurt him that she was treating him like that, he couldn't help but smile at the fact that she looked so adorable when she was mad! He too settled himself on the couch, directly opposite her and that too, on purpose.
Silence filled the whole room. Neither Jai nor Bani spoke anything. Both sat in their places, not knowing what was happening to them. Not a word spoken but still their hearts were beating crazily! Both were thankful to their care taker when he came in carrying a tray with hot tea. He placed it on the table and made a cup for each of them and handed it to them. Thank you Ramu kaka (his name). Giving them a warm smile, he left them to do his work. Jai sipped the hot tea and let it calm him down. Gosh, it tasted good. Finishing it, he left for the study to call Massi up. Bani noticed him leave and that made her relax. Taking the remote control, she turned on the tv to watch some program while she drank her tea.
Jai called up Aditya as he was the one carrying his mobile with him. After a few rings, he picked up. Aditya, mein Jai bolraha hoon. Arre Jai, tum kaha ho? Hamari flight to take off hone wali hain aur tu abhi tak yahan nahi hain. Jai sighed. He had been hoping to go with the rest, at least Bani would be with the rest of the family members whom she was still comfortable with. Hamari gadi raaste mein karab ho gayi thi. Aur koi mechanic bhi nahin tha. Lekin tu chinta mat kar. Mein aur Bani hamare farmhouse peh hain. Raaste mein hi tha to hum yaha aah gaye. Zara Massi ko phone dena. Ha ek minute. Aditya passed on the phone to Massi and explained to her what had happened. Hello, Jai koi baat nahin. Tum log waha peh hi ruk jao. Kuch din waha peh bitao. Shayad Bhagwan ne tumhe yeh ek mauka diya hain, Bani ke kareeb rehna. Lekin Beta, dheeraj se kaam lena. Aur Bhagwan peh vishwas rakna. Jai smiled to himself. Massi was so understanding. Maybe she was right. This could be an opportunity to talk to Bani and be close to her. Jee Massi, mein samaj gaya. Aap sab apna khayal rakhiyega aur pohochte hi mujhe phone kar dena. With that he ended the call with Massi. What she said kept on resounding in his head. This was a good opportunity which he could use to do something about him and Bani. He just hoped that it would go right.
Night time came and it was time for dinner. He was shocked when he found out from Ramu kaka that Bani had prepared dinner for them. He wondered how come she prepared dinner.Though he was dying of curiosity, he knew that she might just snub him again or just give him a curt reply should he ask. Settling himself down at the dining table, he could smell the aroma of the food and it was just heavenly. Ramu kaka then came in and laid out the food for both of them. After a few minutes, he saw her coming from the kitchen. She had changed into a new pair of clothes and as usual, was looking as gorgeous as ever. He met her gaze and smiled but didn't receive any from her. He knew it but still, he always smiled at her hoping that she too might smile back. Silence hit the room once again as they ate. The only sound heard was the clattering of their plates and utensils. Not even one single word was uttered from either of them.
Part 22
Silence still occupied the room. Jai all the while was keeping control. There was a time where he had nearly burst and he had to tell himself to calm down. Things would go awefully wrong if he made an outburst at this moment. Why did she have to punish him so hard! It hurt him like hell too. He was suffering as much as she was. But no matter what, he couldn't break down now. He had to be there for her. He wanted to be close to her even though she didn't like it. After dinner was done, Ramu kaka came to clear the table. After washing up, he realised that Bani had gone out of the house and into the garden. He walked across the living room from where he could see her, where he had the perfect view of her.
There she stood like an angel with the light from the moon illuminating her face. A soft smile played at her lips as she gazed at the night sky which was full of shimmering stars. A soft breeze played with her hair making them cover her face and he saw her close her eyes to enjoy the feel of the breeze. Gosh she looked beautiful. He could stand there and look at her for hours, he wouldn't mind at all. It felt good to see her enjoying herself. At least it brought a smile to her angelic face. That smile which had always brightened up his day in the past. He used to wonder how that one smile had never failed to perk his day up. He used to wonder why. Now he realised that it was because he had fallen for her hard. He had given his heart to her. This one woman who changed his whole life, the one who had captured his heart, the one who taught him how to love. He wanted to live with her and love her for the rest of his life but his horrible past had caught up with him. A sigh escaped through his lips. Bani was still there in the garden but she had her hands stretched out, eyes still closed enjoying the night breeze.
Kitna acha mausam hain. Jee karta hain ki sari raat yahi peh bitauo, Bani thought to herself. Just then, she felt someones hand wrap themselves around her waist from behind. Her heart skipped a beat. She knew that it was him. Only Jai could cause her heart to beat crazily. She loved it. She felt so secure in his arms. She just couldn't detach herself from him. I love you Bani. With that he placed a kiss on her cheek. Bani opened her eyes and she immediately turned and saw that there was no one there. She had been imagining it all the while. Smiling she slapped herself on the forehead and went back inside. Jai had seen all of that. Why was she smiling to herself, why did she slap herself on her forehead? Now he was utterly confused.
After changing into her night clothes, Bani settled herself into the large couch that was in their room. She planned to sleep there for the time being. No one was going to be around to ask her why was she sleeping seperately. Opening her novel, she continued reading it from where she had stopped. But no matter how hard she tried, she just wasn't able to concencrate on the book. Her mind kept on going to the park road raaz and Mr Walia. She very much wanted to believe her heart that he was innocent. But the facts were in front of her. Could it be that Roshni was involved? Maybe she should talk to Mr Walia about itw. She felt awful whenever she snubbed him or answered him rudely or just plain ignored him. She knew that he always tried to hide it that it pained him when she did that but she could tell from his eyes. They spoke volumes to her. She decided that she will put a stop to this but that didn't mean that she will forgive him, that is until the truth is out.
Part 23
Putting the book down on the table, she went to his study where he most probably would be, doing his work. Whole day doing work. Doesn't he get tired of doing work? Entering the study which as usual looked as tidy as always with everything as its place, she saw that he was on the couch but she couldn't see his face, only the back of his head was in her view. Walking soundlessly, she crossed the room to see that he was fast asleep and his head was resting on the couch. Looking at him sleep brought a soft smile to her lips. How innocent he looked. Sleeping like a baby. Moving forward, she loosened his scarf so that he could sleep comfortably. Carefully, she made him lie down on the couch, placing a pillow behind his head. Taking a spare blanket from the cupboard, she covered him with it so that he was nice and cosy. Not able to resist, she caressed his forehead before brushing her lips over his forehead. She stood gazing at him for a few minutes before she left the room closing the door as softly as possible behind her. On the other side in the room, Jai dreamt that someone had kissed him tenderly.
Bright sunlight hit Jai's eyes and he squinted so that he could see better in the bright light. Rubbing his eyes, he got up and stretched his arms. That was when he realised that he was covered in a blanket and he had slept lying down on the couch. Bringing his hand to his forehead as he vaguely remembered someone placing a kiss there. Was it Bani? No how could that be? She wasn't even talking to him properly let alone placing a kiss on his forehead. Maybe he was dreaming. That could be the only reason. Heaving a sigh, he got up to freshen up. Entering their room, he noticed that Bani wasn't there. Heading towards the bathroom he failed to notice that Bani was behind him standing at the door. Smiling, she walked over to the cupboard and got out his clothes for the day and placed them on the bed, putting his watch and wallet too beside them. With that, she went down to instruct Ramu kaka as to what to make for breakfast.
Having a nice hot bath, Jai came out wiping his hair. That had felt good, he thought. He looked around the room and that was when he noticed that his clothes were neatly lying on the bed with his watch and wallet alongside them. Frowning, he wondered who could have taken his clothes out. Kahin Bani ne to nahin' he thought aloud. Nahin lekin aur kaun ho sakta hain' he didn't want to get his hopes high so he just left the matter and went to go dressed. As he put on his shirt, he noticed that one of the button was missing. Yeh button aaj phir toot gaya. Pata nahin kaise banate hain shirts. Ab iska kya karoon mein? Haan Ramu kaka ko pata hoga. Walking swiftly, he went to the kitchen where he thought Ramu kaka would be instead he found his wife there. Ramu kaka yeh'he left his sentence hanging. Feeling very awkward as to what to say, almost whispering to himself, he said Kuch nahin. Bani on the other hand had noticed how awkward he was feeling and wasn't even able to speak properly because of the tension between them. Kya hua Mr Walia? Kuch kaam tha? She said, her voice dripping with concern.
Upon hearing her call his name so sweetly, he just gawked at her! Did the sun rise from the west or something? Bani was actually talking to him! And nicely too on top of that! Nahin kuch nahin. He replied and was about to go away when he heard her call out to him softly again. Mr Walia.. Kahiye kya kaam tha? Jai was really flabbergasted! Calming down, he managed to say, Wo meri shirt ka button tut gaya hain to'. He saw her smile at him as she went out to get the needle and thread. Surely he must be dreaming. Just for assurance, he slapped himself and did it hurt or what! He knew that he wasn't dreaming but how should he interpret her behavior then?
Part 24
Jai was totally perplexed. What is happening to Bani? Did she just smile at him? Did she just agree to do his work for him? Busy in coming up with answers, he didn't realise that he was walking straight into a wall until he felt someone pull him back and he came face-to-face with Bani. Yeh aap kya kar rahe hain? Kis soch mein pade hain ki apko nazar bhi nahin aya ki aap diwal ki taraf jaa rahe hain? she said sternly. Jai was too stunned to even say something. No words seem to come out from his mouth. Mr Walia! That brought him back to earth. He watched open-mouthedly as Bani moved forward and started sewing his button on.
Bani knew that he would be bewildered seeing her behavior. She couldn't say anything too as she knew how her past behavior towards him was and now the change in her would definitely shock him. Smiling to herself, she leaned forward to cut the thread off with her teeth. Even now she felt heat rising up in her body as she went close to his body. She could feel her heart beating faster. He still had that effect on her. On the other hand, Jai was in the same state. He was trying hard to control himself from grabbing her there and then but knew he shouldn't. He could feel her warm breath on his chest which created all sorts of emotions inside him and only he knew how hard he was trying to keep control. Slowly he felt her move away and he managed to breath properly. Slowly, he met her gaze and both stood there gazing into each others eyes.
Both Jai and Bani wondered how fate was playing with their lives. Just when they had started accepting each other and were slowly falling in love with the other, fate had decided to throw yet another obstacle in ther lives with drew them apart. Slowly, Bani let her hands drop to her sides and she stepped back and went back to the bedroom. Jai stood looking at her retreating back and smiled. Only God knew why she was behaving this way. But whatever it was, he was loving it. The day had started well and he was hoping it remained the same till the end of the day. He finished dressing up and went to have breakfast. There he saw Bani laying out the food for her and him. Wearing a simple pink salwar kameez and looking as stunning as ever with her hair flying in the light breeze. With a smile, he sat down to eat. After serving him the food, Bani too settled down opposite him and started eating.
Silence still seemed to exist between them now as they ate. Both stealing glances at each other when the other wasn't aware. Jai thought as he ate, why isn't she talking? She was so quiet that it scared. Just a moment ago, he had received a little trashing from her when he was about to hit the wall and now she was all quiet. Maybe he should say something. No, no what if she ignored him? He decided that he should just finish his breakfast and not do anything hasty. On the other hand, Bani was fighting herself as to whether she should speak up or not. If she didn't, she might not have the courage again. Taking in a deep breath, she spoke, Mr Walia, mujhe aapse kuch zaroori baat karni hain.
Part 25
Time froze as Jai gaped at Bani with the most incredulous expression on his face. From the start, things were going the way in which he had least expected. Trying not to sound as incredulous as he looked he answered, haan kaho, kya baat hain? Bani stood up from where she was seated and walked over to the nearby window. Taking in a deep breath she said, Mr Walia, jabse mujhe khabar padi hain ki meri mummy ki maut ek accident ki vaje se hui hain, tabse lekar aaj tak mujhe kuch samaj mein nahin aah raha hain. Jai could see that she was trying her best to control her tears. He didn't make an attempt to stop her, but instead let her carry on. Aur aap..aap ki haath se huan hain, to' meri to haalat hi aise ho gayi hain' ki..ki kya sahi hain aur kya galat hain..kuch samaj mein nahin aah raha hain. Jab bhi mein meri mummy ki bare mein soochti hoon, to mujhe bohot takleef hoti hain. Bahut dard hota hain yeh sochkar ke meri mummy ke katil aap hain.
Those words struck Jai real hard. He felt more remorseful hearing it from her. Memories of that ill-fated day came flooding to his head. Memories of Bani finding out the whole truth came flowing to his head. He shut his eyes tight in order to prevent the tears that were threatening to flow. Mr Walia, meine kabhi socha nahin tha ki meri mummy ke katil aap..aap honge. Jab bhi aap mere samne aate hain, to mujhe meri mummy ka katil nazar aata hain. Jai clenched his fist as tight as he could. He stood up abruptly and walked over to the wall and slammed his hand into it. Bani had heard him get up and had seen him slamming his hand into the wall. Her heart told her to go to him yet her mind stopped her. But she didn't care. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she walked over to him. Jai could feel her presence near him but he didn't acknowledge it. He couldn't face her. He didn't want to see hatred for him in the eyes of the woman he loved the most. How should he face her? He didn't have the courage. Mr Walia, yeh aap kya kar rahe hain?? Kyun apne aap ko takleef de rahe hain?? Jai spinned around so that he came face to face with her. Yeh takleef tumare takleef se bahut choti hain Bani. Kaise tumara samna karu Bani??? Kaise!! Taking a step back from her, he turned away from her only to be held back by her. Mr Walia, jabse yeh haatse ke bare mein mujhe pata chala hain, mann hi mann mein bohot saare sawal aate hain. Kya uss rat Ranvijay Chopra ka vahan hona sirf ittefaq tha? Aapko unka behavior kuch ajeeb nahin lagta? Achanak Roshni Chopra ka yaha aana ek ittefaq tha? Un dono ka yaha aana aur achanak yeh raaz ka bahar aana sirf ek ittefaq tha?
Somehow what Bani was saying did make some sense. Were their coming back into his life a mere coincidence? Or was it something else? He had never thought about this ever since the accident took place. But somehow, this whole thing triggered off some questions in Bani's mind and now in his too. Now he needed answers and he would make sure he would leave no stone unturned in this. Tum fikar mat karo Bani. In sab sawalo ka jawab mein zaroor nikal lunga. Akhir un dono ka yaha phir se aana ka kya matlab tha' sab sawal ka jawab mein dhondh nikal lunga. Having said that, he turned to leave to be held back by Bani once again. Aap nashta nahin pura karenge? Jai turned around to look at her and saw concern reflecting in her eyes. Time stood still as Jai and Bani gazed at the other. Their silence communicating yet once again to one another as words seemed futile.
After a few seconds, both looked away from the other and went over to finish their breakfast. Ramu kaka came in to clear the table as soon as they had finished. Jai noticed that Bani was keeping herself busy with the kitchen work and decided to leave her alone with her work. With nothing to do, he decided on a walk. Stepping out of the house, he felt good. The sun was shining brightly and there was a slight breeze too making it all the more comfortable. As he walked in the garden, he thought about his conversation with Bani about the park road raaz. It indeed was strange that as soon as the two siblings came back into his life, the raaz came out. Was it done on purpose? Was it just a mere coincidence? No, it was more than just a mere coincidence and he was determined to find out the truth.
Part 26
Taking in a few deep breaths, Jai calmed his nerves down. Unintentionally, he let out a sigh. He realised that he had been sighing many times almost everyday. He wondered what the rest of the family were doing in Goa. Most probably they were enjoying themselves there. He wished that he and Bani were with them too. It would have made Bani more comfortable with the rest of the family members and she too would have been enjoying her time there. But now they were here. Thinking about how they landed here, Jai decided to check up on his car and see whether it was working now. Walking towards the main entrance of their farmhouse, he saw that his car was already there and that his driver was chatting with Ramu kaka. Both seemed to be having a good time chatting. Smiling, he walked towards them.
Seeing his boss coming his way, he (driver) immediately stood up. He didn't have any intentions to anger his boss who was known for his hot-temperedness. Jai noticed his driver standing up quickly and laughed to himself. He had no idea why everyone felt intimidated by him. Reaching them, he asked gadi aap thik hain? Haan sir, aap thik ho gayi hain. Aapko kab jana hain? Jai thought that it would be better they left from their farmhouse and head back to Walia mansion. At least over there, Bani could keep herself occupied. Abhi nikal te hain. Mujhe kuch kaam hain. Jaisa aap chahe sir. Jai turned to Ramu kaka and thanked him for everything that he had done and then left to inform Bani that they were leaving. Somehow, he didn't feel awkward talking to her now that things seemed to be at ease between them, a little that is. Walking to their room, he saw that Bani was standing at the window, looking out. She seemed to be in deep thoughts. Seeing her there lost in her thoughts made him stop at the doorway.
Slowly he saw her place a hand on her stomach and she gazed lovingly at where she had placed her hands. Jai couldn't help but smile. She would definitely be a loving mother to their child and he had no doubts about that. Bani was a person who lived for the people around her and always placed their happiness above hers. Just then, he heard her talking. Kya aap jaante hain ki aapke papa bohot buddhu hain? Kuch bhi nahi aata unhe. She said smilingly. Kya aap jante hain ki mujhe kitna dard hota hain jab bhi mein unke saath aisa behave karti hoon? Lekin mein kya karoon' halat hi kuch aise hain. Kya aap jaante hain ki aapki mummy aapke papa se bohot pyaar karti hain' Hearing that, Jai couldn't express how exultant he felt. How he felt like taking her into his arms and tell her that he loved her and their child more than anything in this world. She gazed so affectionately at her stomach that he just felt like standing there and watch her all day long. But he knew he couldn't do that.
Breaking the silence that fell in the room yet again, Jai said, Bani, aab gadi thik ho gayi hain. Hum vapas jaa sakte hain. Tum tayar ho jao mein tumara bahar intezar karta hoon. Bani had turned around upon hearing his voice and she just nodded to what he had just said. Once he left, Bani wondered if he had heard what she had just spoken to their child. A smile slowly formed at her lips. Even if he had heard, she didn't mind at all. She just knew that the words that she had spoken to their child were true.
Part 27
Bani tidied herself up and fixed her clothes and headed out to where Mr Walia was waiting. She saw him sitting on the couch, one leg crossed over the other and his hand placed under his chin. No matter what, he always seemed to exude his Jai Walia style wherever he went. Smiling slightly, she went to him and said, Mr Walia chale? That brought Jai back to earth. He hadnt even noticed that Bani was standing there. Haan chalo. As they left, they both greeted Ramu kaka farewell and thanked him. Bani added on, Aap aapna kyal rakhiyega Ramu kaka. Like Jai had said, Bani always cared about people around her more than herself. After settling in the car, they drove off, back to Walia Mansion.
All of a sudden, it seemed to Bani that she was at ease being in the same car with Jai and she didn't mind sitting beside him. She just prayed that the whole truth about the park road raaz is out as soon as possible. Turning towards him, she saw that he was looking out of the window. The scenery outside was indeed beautiful as Bani looked out taking it all in. The rest of the journey back to Walia mansion was nothing but peaceful. Upon reaching Walia house, Jai went to his study as he had matters to look at regarding work. He had decided that he would stay at home and do all the work required from home. He didn't want to leave Bani alone in this huge mansion. Meanwhile Bani went to their room to take a rest. Nowadays, she seemed to be getting tired easily. Walking over to the bed, she sat down and leaned her head on the head rest and closed her eyes.
Meanwhile, Jai had instructed his managers at the office to handle the work there appropiately in his absence and should they need him, they could call him at home. Having finished that, he went to his room only to find Bani on the bed with her eyes closed resting against the bedrest. Seeing her, he recalled their conversation at the farmhouse. He had to do something about it. But what could he do? Where should he start? Just then something struck him. He could start at the root of the whole thing. Mount Abu. He had instructed his men to keep all the things such as any documents or anything that seemed important when he had bought over the house and was going to demolish it. Maybe he would be able to find something there that might help him. Taking out his phone, he stepped outside and dialled the number of the man who was in charge of clearing the Dixit house.
Having called up the guy, Jai somehow felt slightly relaxed. He just hoped that he would be able to get to the root of this raaz and see to it that whatever is hidden is out. Turning back and walking into their room, he saw that Bani had slightly shifted her position to get more comfortable. There was a smile playing at her lips and she was looking like an angel. Quietly walking towards the bed, he knelt down at the side beside her. Liftly his hand up, he tenderly caressed her head. He tucked a strand of hair that had gotten lose behind her ear and softly caressed her cheek which felt so soft under his skin. Not able to help himself, he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. Picking up the blanket, he carefully draped it around her and left the room as quietly as he had come in. But what Jai didn't know was that Bani was actually wide awake and that she had just closed her eyes and was merely lying down. Her eyes were brimming with tears at what he had just done and they fell as soon as he left. Tears of both joy and sadness. Joy because of the immense love he had for her and sadness because of her behavior towards him.
Part 28
Bani was tremendously moved by Jai's actions, be it small or big. Every move of his towards her made her love him even more. She wondered how could she ever hate this man who loved her more than anyone else? She couldn't fathom how she ever treated him like he didn't exist. She knew it in her heart that she would never be able to distance herself away from him. She knew that she would always love him. He would always be the one whom she loved and will always love for the rest of her life. She silently prayed that her doubts about the park road were proved true and that Jai was not at fault. She just wanted this to be over fast as it was becoming unbearable for her.
Meanwhile, Jai walked over to the living room which felt very empty without the rest of the family members. Massi and Dadi's jokes and their laughter, Aditya teasing Jigyasa over the littlest of things and how Dadi would silently be giving thumbs up to him. He missed them so much even though it was just yesterday that they had left. His huge mansion was a mere building without his family members. Especially Bani. The day she had come into this house, this huge building had become a home. How her smile warmed up the deepest corner of the house and his heart too, how her laughter rang through the whole house, how she took care of everyone in the house. All the past memories brought a smile to his face. How ironic was it; that when he disliked her, she was always with him and now when he loved her, she seemed so far away. He was brought out of his thoughts when his phone rang. It was the man whom he had called just a while ago and he informed Jai that they had indeed kept all the things that he had asked them to keep. Ending the call, Jai prayed that he would find something related to this whole thing. First he should inform Bani. He didn't want to keep anything from her regarding this matter.
As he entered the bedroom, he remembered that Bani was sleeping. He must have completely forgotten about it. He turned to leave when someone caught his arm. Turning around, he saw it was Bani. He drew in his breath when he saw her. She had changed into a maroon sari with a small pair of earrings dangling from her ears. She was looking stunning with her hair let down and the way she was looking at him, he could only stare at her. He was broken out of his staring when he heard her say, Mr Walia, aap mujhse itna pyaar kyon karte hain? Jab aap jante ki apki vaja se meri mummy ka accident huwa hain' kyon karte hain itna pyaar jab aap jante hain ki shayad mein aapko kabhi maaf na kar paun'. Bani looked into his eyes wanting to hear his answer. She just needed to know the answer. Jai looked into her eyes. He could see tears threatening to fall. Taking a step closer looking straight into her eyes, he said ever so softly, Mujhe nahin pata Bani, mein sirf itna jaanta hoon ki tum mere liye meri zindagi ho. Dheere dheere tumne mere dil mein apni jaga bana li hain. Is dil mein sirf tum basti ho Bani. Haan mein jaanta hoon ki tum mujhe shayad kabhi maaf nahin karogi' dard hoga lekin tumara dard wo dard se bohot zyaada hain' mein jee lunga tumari yaadon mein aur zindagi bhar tumse hi pyaar karunga, tumari yaadon se pyaar karunga.
Tears fell as she heard what he just said. It pained her to hear that. Her heart ached so much that she was finding it difficult to breath. Jai saw how she shivered and the tears falling continously. Not realising what he was doing, he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close to his chest, wanting to soothe her down. Stroking her hair , he allowed her to cry into his chest as she held onto his shirt. Moments later, he heard her steady breathing and realised she had quietened down. Should he tell her? But it would only make her feel worse...No, he had to tell her. Slowly, he withdrew from her only to feel his shirt tighten as Bani clutched onto it even tighter. Keeping his one arm snaked around her waist, he brought his other arm to where her hand was, clutching his shirt and slowly removed her hands. Wiping away the tears from her cheeks, he gave her a reassuring smile and leaned in and placed a kiss on her forehead. Bani, tumare ghar se kuch chizo aur documents hain jo maine rakhwayi hain. Aur wo kahan hain aaj khabar mili hain. Tum chalna chahogi mere saath? Shayad kuch mil jaye. Bani just nodded as she had no strength left in her. She felt Jai's hand wrap around her shoulder and lead her to their car.
Part 29
Getting into their car, Jai and Bani drove off to where the documents and all were kept. Throughout the journey, Jai kept his arm around Bani and brought her close to him hoping to ease away all the pain which he was solely responsible for. Providing all the comfort that he could give her in that embrace. Bani just let her heart lead the way. She was exhausted in the battle between her mind and her heart. She didn't resist his embrace, instead leaned into the comfort of it where she felt so right, so safe. How she wished that everything was normal in their life. Oh how she wished that she could love him the way she did before that disastrous night where she learned about the truth. She leaned in closer, shuddering at the thought of that night. Jai felt Bani lean in closer and wrapped his other arm around her waist, bringing her close, silently praying that they find some clues regarding this matter.
Half an hour later, their car stopped at their destination. Jai's driver informed them that they have reached the place. Lifting his arm from her waist, Jai spoke softly, Bani, hum pohoch gaye hain. Chale? Bani lifter her head from his chest and slowly met his gaze. Everytime she looked into those eyes, her heartbeat went twice the normal rate and she could feel herself melting under his gaze. Forcing herself to look away, she just nodded as words seemed to get caught in her throat. Getting out of the car, Jai led Bani into the building that stood in front of them. Bani had never come to this place before , probably belonged to the Walia company. Entering the lift, Jai and Bani went to the 2nd floor where the room containing the documents were. Switching on the light upon reaching, Jai and Bani walked into the room which seemed much brighter with the light on.
Around 3 boxes lay on the far end side of the room. Jai walked in first to get the boxes in the middle where a small table was kept. Keeping them on the table, he motioned to Bani to come in. Silently praying that they find something in the boxes, Jai opened up the first box. Taking out the papers from it, he looked through them hoping to find something out of the ordinary. He came across a picture of the 3 sisters together and smiled to himself. One of them had become his reason to live, who ruled his heart and who he loved the most in this world. The eldest of the 3 sisters, Bani Dixit. Bani yeh tumari aur tumari beheno ki tasveer. Handing it over to her, he watched her as she looked lovingly at the photograph, a smile playing on her lips. Taking out the rest of the papers, he looked through them carefully only to find nothing.
Taking the second box, he took out the papers from it and sifted through them and nothing again. He was on the verge of giving up. His hopes were dashed in that one moment. Bani, yeh akhri box hain. Bani heard the quiver in his voice. She knew what he was thinking. She had been watching him all the while as he was looking through the paper and he had found nothing. Now there was only one box left and that was their only hope. Mr Walia, shayad kuch mil jaye in akhri box mein se' she looked up at him, with a gleam of hope still in her eyes. Taking a deep breath, he opened up the last box. Taking out its content from it, he looked through them. He nearly gave up hope as he neared the end of the pile when something caught his eye.
Part 30
Taking out an old letter wrapped in an equally old envelope from the stack of papers, he noticed it was addressed to Kiran Dixit and signed off with a heart sign. That's weird he thought. Was it some kind of love letter? Who was it who sent this letter to Bani's mother? Bani, yeh zara dekho. Kisine tumari maa ko ek letter diya tha. Handing it over to Bani, he went closer to her so that he could read the contents as well. Bani was puzzled upon seeing that letter too. Who could have possibly sent her mother this kind of letter. With shaky hands, she opened up the envelope and reached for what it held. An old yellowed paper came out from the envelope. Looking up at Jai for assurance, she procedded to open it when he nodded and held her shoulders gently.
As Jai and Bani read the contents of the letter, both were stunned at what they read. The letter was a sort of love letter written to Bani's mother. It dated back to the time when her mother was schooling, around the age of 20. The person who wrote this letter was supposedly an admirer of Kiran Dixit and was in love with her and wanted to know her better. Jai and Bani were shocked at what they had just found out. Who could have possibly sent this letter to Bani's mother? Could this have anything to do with the incident of that night? Taking the envelope, Jai looked for any kind of name or address that could tell them about the person who wrote that letter. When he found none, he threw the envelope away in frustration. Damn! Koi address ya naam bhi nahin hain! Kaise pata kare Bani ke yeh letter kisne likha hain! Jai shouted in exasperation.
Bani was taken aback for a moment. She knew how he must be feeling. Just when they had found something, they were back at square one. With no address or name, this letter seemed useless. Even though it was indeed something out of the ordinary, it seemed futile as they had no idea who this letter belonged to. She knew that Jai must be feeling even more frustrated with this. Just when they found something that might be of help, their hopes had been dashed. Taking a step towards him, Bani laid her hand on his hand that was resting on the table and gently squeezed it, offering him a sense of assurance. Mr Walia, aap aise haar mat maniye.. Hum zaroor pata karenge ki yeh kisne likha hain' agar hum iss letter tak pohoch paye hain, to hum uss insaan tak bhi pohoch payenge jisne yeh likha hain. Aap himmat mat hariye Mr Walia, hum zaroor kamyag honge. Hearing those words from her, Jai felt slightly better. Turning to her, he saw her innocent face shining up to him. Her eyes, revealing love for him that was hidden in her heart, gazing up at him. Giving her a smile, he said, Tum thik keh rahi ho. Main iss raaz ki sachayi tak zaroor pohochunga. Aab hum yaha se nikalte hain. Taking the letter and the envelope, he turned to leave when he felt Bani hold him back.
Kya huwa Bani? Jai said all concerned. Mr Walia, mujhe abhi yaad aya ki meri mummy ek diary rakha karti thi. Bachpan mein maine uss diary dekhi thi jaha wo likha karti thi. Shayad uss diary meh is letter ke bare mein kuch likha ho? In one second, Jai strided to the table again searching the boxes for that one diary where all their hopes now depended on. And there it was. Lying at the bottom, an old brown diary, the pages all yellowed but still legible. Kya yeh vahi diary hain? Bani took it from his hand and looked at the front covering. She remembered clearly that her mother's diary had a distinctive pattern on the front and it was clearly there on this one. Haan, yeh meri mummy ki diary hain.
Part 31
A sudden gush of hope filled Jai's heart. The diary was right in front of them. Kya? Yeh wahi diary hain? Bani just nodded. She knew that he must be feeling overwelmed as they now saw a new ray of hope. Ek kaam karte hain Bani. Hum yeh letter aur diary humare saath leh jate hain. Diary hum baad mein padege. Bani just nodded. She felt Jai put his arm around her shoulder and lead her away. While going to their car, Bani felt faint and she leaned onto Jai for support. Jai worried wrapped his arm around her waist and held her close to his body. Kya huwa Bani? Tum thik to ho na? He asked anxiety clearly showing on his face. Tode chakkar aah rahe the, lekin aab mein thik hoon. Still holding her securely in his arms, he made her look at him and he could tell that she wasn't feeling well. Bani chalo ghar chalte hain. Mein doctor ko bulata hoon. Nahin Mr Walia mein thik hoon, mujhe' but she never did manage to finish her sentence. The stern look that Jai gave her silenced her. She knew that he wouldn't take a no this time. Smiling to herself, she let him lead her to the car, his arm holding her firmly to his body.
During the journey back home, Bani felt her eyelids getting heavier and heavier and she dozed off on Jai's shoulder. Jai couldn't help but smile. She looked so cute when she slept. Gently he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close. He felt her huddle closer to his chest and she had brought her hand to rest on his chest as well. Right now, Jai felt like the most luckiest man on earth. He had never felt this good in life. He had a loving family, a beautiful wife, on the inside and the outside and now he was going to be a father. As if on cue, he felt Bani snuggle even closer and her face burrowing into his chest. Resting his head on hers, he hugged the one woman he loved the most in this world , now sleeping peacefully in his arms.
Soon they had reached Walia Mansion. Jai looked down at Bani and saw that she was in deep sleep. He didn't have the heart to wake her up. She was sleeping so peacefully with a cute smile playing at her lips. Getting out the car first, he walked over to the other side and lifted her carefully from the car. Signalling to the driver to park the car, he entered the house and walked to his bedoom. He layed her down gently on the bed and covered her with the soft blanket. Sitting at the edge of the bed, he caressed her cheek which felt soft and warm. Leaning in, he placed a kiss on her forehead and left for his study room to check out the diary, silently praying that he finds something.
Taking out the diary from his pocket, he noticed the diary having unique patterns on the front. It was quite a unique diary. Almost all the pages were yellowed and some were even tearing off. Flipping through the diary, he saw neatly written words in paragraphs, in hindi. Walking over to his desk, he flipped through the pages when he realised that one of the page was folded. Turning to that page, his eyes widened at what was written on that particular page. Meanwhile, in their bedroom, Bani jerked awake. She didn't know what made her jolt awake from her sleep. From the little nap she had, she was feeling slightly better now. She noticed that Jai wasn't around and wondered where could he be. Shayad study room mein honge' she thought to herself. Getting up, she walked quietly to the study room. Turning the door knob as soundlessly as possible, she walked in to see Jai standing by the window, looking out. She couldn't tell what he was thinking about from the expression that he adorned on his face. Walking over to him, she layed her hand on his shoulder and said, kya huwa Mr Walia? The warmth that seeped through his body from that one touch could only belong to Bani. Facing her, he saw her looking at him, eyes filled with concern. Bani, maine abhi tumari maa ki diary padi. Aur usme uss envelope ke baare mein likha hain. Aur' kisne wo letter likha tha tumari maa ko, yeh bhi likha hain.
Part 32
Haan Bani.. Isme yeh bhi likha hain ki wo insaan kaun tha. Bani stood rooted to the ground. Kaun tha wo? Jai walked a few steps away and heard a sigh escaping from his mouth. Wo Ranvijay ka bhai tha, Rohit Chopra. Tumari mummy aur Rohit ek hi college mein padte the. Tumari mummy ne likha hain diary mein uss letter ke barre aur kisne likha tha. Iska matlab yeh hain ki Rohit Chopra tumari mummy ko chahta tha. Bani was shocked at what just unfolded in front of her. Roshni's other brother was in love with her mum? Kya? Roshni ka bhai? Mr Walia aap wo hain kahan? Jai turned around to face her. Jahaan tak mujhe pata hain, wo aab is duniya mein nahin hain. Usne khudkushi kar di thi. Kis vajase yeh mein nahin jaanta. Lekin mein pata karlunga. Bani wondered when would everything be over. She just wanted all truth to be out. Bani, aab tumari tabiyat kaise hi? Arre mein doctor ko bulana to bhool hi gaya. Taking out his phone, he started dialing when he felt two hands stop him. Iski koi zaroorat nahin hain Mr Walia. Mein thik hoon aur hamara bacha bhi thik hain. Aap hain na mere saath. She looked up at him. Gosh she looked so beautiful. He felt so good inside when he heard her say hamara bacha. Lifting his hands up, he held her face in his hand and gently placed a kiss on her forehead. Thik hain Bani, bohot der ho chuki hain. Tum so jao. She smiled slightly at him and left towards their room. Tidying up his study, he too retired to his room.
Next morning, Jai went down to see Bani busy talking to Tony and giving him instructions. He smiled to himself. As usual, she was up early and doing what she always does, taking care of everything in his'.no, their home. She must have seen him coming as she had walked over to the table where breakfast was all layed out for both of them. Good morning Mr Walia. Aapka Breakfast ready hain. He glanced in her direction and smiled at her. Dressed in a simple suit, she looked as wonderful as ever. She seemed to be glowing. He had heard that when a woman was pregnant, she seemed to glow. Bani tum bhi apna breakfast karlo. Nodding, she too sat down and both ate their breakfast in an awkward silence in between stealing glances at one another. Having done their breakfast, Jai proceeded towards his study as he didn't want to go to work. He didn't have the heart to leave Bani here all alone in this huge mansion. The rest of the family members were suppose to be returning tomorrow morning. Till then , he just wanted to be with her and for her. It will be just the two of them.
Meanwhile Bani helped Tony clear up the table when he insisted that she go rest and that she shouldn't be taking any sorts of stress in this condition. Leaving the kitchen, she walked back up her room and stood by the window, looking out at the blue sky. She was missing everyone at home. She longed to chat with Massi and Dadi and smile at their silly jokes. This mansion felt empty without them. She knew they were returning tomorrow and that brought a smile to her face. With nothing to do, Bani occupied herself with watching a movie till lunch. Finishing her movie, she went to check on Jai who like always would be in his study room. She found him busy talking over the phone about some project details which he wanted by tomorrow morning. He must have noticed her come as he gestured to her to come in. As he ended his call, he took her in his arms and held her there for a few moments before letting her go. She smiled at him and told him to come down for lunch. Tum jao mein abhi aata hoon. Nodding, she went down to set up their lunch.
As soon as Jai came down, she served him first when the doorbell rang. Tony came out saying that he would answer it. Both Jai and Bani wondered who could it be who was visiting them. Just then Tony came announcing, Jai sir, Bani ma'am Roshni ji ayi hain. Wo living room mein bethi hain. Both Jai and Bani could tell that Tony didn't like their new guest who has just came. Jai stood up abruptly almost knocking his chair over. Roshni?! Aab wo kyun ayi hain yahan?!! Banging his hand on the table, he nearly knocked a glass over had it not been for Bani who caught it in time. Knowing what was going through his mind, Bani walked to him and placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder and said, Mr Walia, yeh waqt gussa hone ka nahin hain. Mein aapke saath hoon Mr Walia. Roshni chahe kuch bhi kahen, mein hamesha aapke saath hoon. Wo yahan zaroor koi maksad se ayi hain. Jai turned to look at her and couldn't believe what she just said. He was over joyed to hear that she was with him. Hearing Roshni's name, he almost felt like strangling her for coming back after what she had done. This time, he wasn't going to let her do anything to him or Bani or their relationship. Tum sahi ho. Chalo, jake dekhe ke wo yahan kyon ayi hain. Roshni was sitting on the couch looking around the house with her luggage on the side. On seeing them, she stood up. Hello Jai! Ohh tum bhi yahan hoon. Wo sab hone ke baad tum abhi yahan hoon' Jai felt anger rising up and felt like slapping Roshni but Bani had taken hold of his hand, stopping him. Haan mein yahan hoon kyun ki yeh mera ghar hain. Roshni just smirked to herself. She didn't like the fact that Bani was still here after all that had happened and she was going to do something about it.
Part 33
Oh I see. Mujhe laga tha ki tum yeh ghar hamesha ke liye chhor kar chali jaogi. Lekin tum to yehin ho abhi. Shut up Roshni! How dare you talk to my wife in this way?! Yeh mera ghar hain aur Bani ka bhi! So stay within your limits! Roshni just smirked even more and flicked her hair like she always did and said, whatever Jai. You're such a bad host. No offer of water or anything? Jai could feel anger building up inside him and so felt like strangling her. She comes to his house uninvited and says hurtful things to his Bani when she had just learnt how to come to terms with everything that had happened. Tony! Roshni ko guestroom mein chod ao. Roshni tum vaha reh sakti ho. Lekin apni hadh mein rehna. Mehman ho mehman ban ke rakna. Chalo Bani. Leading Bani to their room, Jai paced the room, anger clearly written on his face. Bani walked up to him and stopped him from pacing anymore. She didn't want to see him in this way. Jai grabbed her shoulders and almost yelled, uski himmat kaise hui tumse aise baat karne ki! Nahin chodunga mein usse! When he heard Bani squirm under his hold, he softened his hold and just embraced her and spoke softly, Roshni phir se ayi hain Bani. Wo zaroor kuch karegi. Kahin wo tumse mujhse alag na karde' nahin mein aise nahin hone doonga. Mar jaunga mein tumare bina.. Nahin reh pehaunga' Jai cried on Bani's shoulders as he held her in his arms, never wanting to let go.
Bani hugged him back with all her heart as she knew what he was going through. Her heart broke at seeing him in this state. She held him with all the warmth, never wanting to leave his arms. Pulling back, she took his hand in hers and held them to her cheek. Mr Walia, mein aapko chodkar kahin nahin jaungi. Yeh vaada hain mera. Roshni chahe kuch bhi kare, mein usko hamare beech nahin aane doongi. Giving him a smile, she leaned in and kissed away the tears that had made their way down his cheeks. Jai stood, eyes closed, surprised at his wife's actions. That was a daring move for his usually shy wife! Opening his eyes slowly, he gazed into those eyes that were capable of melting his heart. Cupping her face in his hands, he placed a kiss on her forehead. Resting his forhead against hers, he whispered, thank you Bani, mujhe laga tha ke tum mujhe chod kar chali jaogi. Thank you for trusting me Bani. And I promise you, I wont break the trust you have in me.
Both had their lunch in their room instead. Jai insisted that Bani should eat her meals on time as it would be good for both mother and child. Bani couldn't help but smile seeing him take care of her and their baby. She was loving the feeling of having him take care of her. Both ate their lunch enjoying each other's company. Jai gave Bani her medicines and told her to take some rest. He insisted that she should take rest even though she didn't want to. Covering her with the blanket, Jai went over to his study to do his work.
As he walked towards his study room, he walked past the room that Roshni was staying in and found her talking on the phone. He felt anger rising in him and managed to control it and was about to walk away when something caught his attention. It was Roshni's conversation with the person on the line. Kahan ho tum? Mein yahan pohoch gayi hoon aur tum hi nahin ho yahan. Tumme yaad hain na mein yahan kyon ayi hain' But before Jai could further listen to what she was saying, she had walked over to the other side of the room where it was impossible for him to hear anything she was saying. Turning around, Jai walked over to his study all the while the conversation playing over and over again in his head. One thing was for sure, Roshni had a motive behind her coming to India and coming into their lives once again.
