Khushi heard the door of their bedroom slam shut and stiffened, waiting for his barrage of insults.

When none came, she turned around and saw that he was still facing the door, head bent down and shoulders stiff.

Much to her relief, he didn't glance at her and walked straight into the bathroom.

Khushi sighed as she gathered her pillow and comforter and made her way out to the poolside.

"Khushi!"

Jumping out of her skin, she quickly stood up and rushed into the room, wondering why he was so angry.

She found that he was sitting on the bed, head lowered and hands clenched together.

"Yahan baitho."

Khushi felt unsure of what to do and just stood rooted to the spot.

"Tumhe sunayi nahi diya. Maine kaha yahan baitho."

There was something strange about his voice and she quickly complied with his order, afraid of another onslaught which would definitely deprive her of her sleep.

She sat tentatively on the other side of the bed and waited anxiously for him to speak.

"Theek se baitho."

Confusion was slowly overwhelming her fear as Khushi began wondering why he was asking her to do such a thing.

Nonetheless she lifted her legs up, crossed them in front of her and leaned back against the head board.

She waited another few minutes and was about to open her mouth when she felt a weight on her lap.

She looked down and her eyes turned the size of saucers.

Arnav was lying down and his head was the weight she had felt.

She was just about to shake him off and run away when he caught her wrist in his hand.

That's when she realized that his hand was burning hot.

She quickly felt his forehead and gasped.

He had a very high temperature.

"Arnavji, aapko toh bohot tez bukhar hain. Aap rukiye, hum doctor ko phone karte hain."

She felt his grip tighten on her wrist and she had a feeling that he wouldn't let go off her very easily.

"Koi zaroorat nahi' theek hoon' Khushi' ruko'"

He murmured incoherent phrases and her heart melted at the sound of his tired voice.

She took her free hand and stroked his hair, feeling him relax under her touch.

"Theek hain. Hum kahin nahi jaa rahe hain. Aap soh jaiye."

Hearing her say those words, he snuggled further into her lap and Khushi felt a blush creeping up her face as his hair began tickling her exposed stomach.

She tried shifting slightly so that she didn't feel as uncomfortable but Arnav wasn't happy with this movement.

Instead, he buried his face in her stomach and started breathing softly.

Khushi gasped and felt herself go rigid as his stubble grazed her stomach, making her skin tingle.

"Arnavji' chodiye' hume chodiye'"

Arnav suddenly jerked his head up and Khushi was startled to see his bloodshot eyes.

"Kyun?"

Khushi gazed into his brown eyes which, despite betraying all his fatigue due to the fever, still had a mesmerizing effect on her.

She gulped and waited uncertainly while he brought his head near hers.

Instinctively, she tried moving back but because there was nowhere to go, she only managed to slide down and soon she was underneath him, trapped by both his hands on her sides.

She cursed herself for getting into an even worse situation than before but all those thoughts were cut off as he slowly lowered himself towards her.

His hot, erratic breath was falling on her face and Khushi's dhakdhak was increasing dangerously.

She opened her mouth but no words came out. Her eyes locked with intense brown ones and she was completely lost in them.

His lips were now just millimeters from hers and she became stiff, afraid that even the slightest movement would spell chaos.

"Chod doon?"

"Ha'haan,"

With that Arnav's lips made their way to hers and Khushi felt herself being whisked into heaven.

After what seemed like eternity, he came up breathing shallow and smirk in place.

"Chod doon?" he repeated.

Khushi wasn't sure of anything anymore and nodded her head uncertainly.

She had just managed to get her breathing under control when his lips landed on hers again.

This time there was a kind of impatience and he came up quicker than before, leaving Khushi a little disappointed.

With a slight frown on his face, he asked the question again.

"Chod doon?"

This time Khushi realized why he was doing all this but she was not in the mood to relent.

Instead of answering she gazed defiantly at him and watched as his irritation mounted.

Getting no reply, Arnav cupped her face with his hands, gave her a fierce look before claiming her lips for the third time.

But Khushi was ready for it and she returned his kiss with equal enthusiasm.

For a moment Arnav was startled but it was only for a moment.

This kiss lasted the longest and when they finally pulled apart, Khushi could see a look of warm contentment in his eyes.

He gave her a lopsided smirk before collapsing on her out of exhaustion.

Khushi gasped as she felt Arnav crushing her but she could hardly budge under him.

As if aware of how uncomfortable she was, Arnav unconsciously rolled off her but didn't loosen his grip on her which meant that they were now on their sides facing each other.

Khushi could feel her mouth drying as she saw him merely inches away from her.

Despite what happened a few minutes back, she still felt nervous whenever she came so close to him

"Khushi'"

He murmured in his sleep and proceeded to bury his head in the crook of her neck.

It was then that Khushi realized that there was no getting out of this situation at present.

Instead she rested her hands on his chest and breathed in his intoxicating scent before drifting off to sleep.

The next morning, Khushi served everyone breakfast while Payal finished making the last dish.

Suddenly there was a loud noise.

"Achoo!"

Everyone gazed up at Khushi as she sneezed a few more times before wiping her nose with her hand.

"Yeh ka hui raha hain Khushi bitiya? Kal Arnav bitwa ko zukhaam huya tha aur aaj aapko bhi? Zara apna khayal toh rakhiye aap dono."

Anjali suppressed a giggle as Mamaji unknowingly hit the nail on the head.

She glanced towards her Chote and Khushiji and smiled on seeing their reactions.

While Khushi's cheeks had turned pink and she was looking everywhere but at her husband, Arnav had turned red and was hurriedly finishing his food.

"Arre Mamaji, shaadi ke baad zukhaam kabhi bhi ek ko nahi hoti hai."

She winked at Khushi who promptly dropped the tray she was holding while Arnav choked on his glass of water.
