JIT: Is this the reason for all issues?

When I saw the FB status message of Nitesh Pandey 2 days back, about his troubled eye and shoot, I got a big shock . I understood that he was referring the Armaan and Ashu convo after the V-day celebration. That was the last scene on Friday and as per his status he has shot it on the same day morning.
Previously MB also mentioned that in KTLK, most the time he shoots for the next day episode.
I read in SNS forum that there they shoot 2 weeks in advance. Is this Just In Time process of KTLK team culprit for all the wrong editing and shady camera work we see?
I really want to understand what are the advantages or reasons for having this JIT process ... I know this is giving them a flexibility to play with script by keeping an eye on TRP.
At the same time, because of the short turnaround time they have, the quality of the product is effecting
If any of you can throw some light, on what could be the reason other than hunt of TRP, it will be great...

AF...i think this time they had to shoot JIT as they wanted to incorporate the V-Day track as they had got a TRP jhatka ...

But if this is the rule and not only becoz of certain script change suddenly then it will def affect the quality of the show...

Last time the cast was reportedly sitting around becoz the script had not arrived...

The PH is not serious abt this show looks like...

AF.. from my limited knowledge of serial world... most of the show sequences (barring outdoor/ festivals) ones are usually shot pretty near to its airing date!

However... i have seen in quite a few Star Plus shows that sequences are shot with a few days gap.. thus helping to keep banks..! I think they can afford that coz of the comfort in TRPs... they dont expect TRPs to fall down week on week.. rather expect may be ups n downs..! For instance in IP i saw.. the Teri Meri sequence.. being shot almost a week ago. n promoted aggresively... ! Same way i saw SGP valentine segment being shot early on...!!

Coming to Sony... i feel atleast for KTLK there seems to b too much of last minute shoots.. as evident from MB n NPs status.. however some segments do get shot from before hand... like if u see.. the dinner thing at Mallus place was shot in advance.. as it was shown in promo and then .. SBS also..! SBS segments are shot 1-2 days before airing of sequences..!

So i dunno if JIT is meant for ALL the sequences of KTLK or only for some...!

Vasanti, I am wondering this is not one of an instace. KTLK has less turnaround time if we observe. They shoot 1 day of 2 days in advance. Long back when MB got back pain, they suddenly introduced the fracture track the next day because they did not have any episodes

Ya. IP shoot was done long back and promoted I have seen that. In KTLK case, in the last 2 promos, when all others were shooting the actual scene, MB was there to shoot the promo and later he added his part.
In the Nidhi-Mallu hospital scene, Nidhi was with Roses and she was wearing the same dress she wore for the promo shoot.
What I wonder is , one cannot change TRP over night. If I change the script and deliver some thing great also, the viewers who are engrossed in some other show will not come back in a week. So this weekly or daily change in script is not the right approach.

I have no idea how this TV industry works ...but like Tanu said a lot of shows r shot pretty close to telecast date. This is what i used to read when i was in India...i remember Ekta's soap cast complaining that they have no free time becoz of tight schedules and they can't even afford to fall sick...so many times cast work thru illness.

I think this is TRP baba ka asar...quality suffers !!

@AF...
we had the same complain during Geet...
after thing was Just in Time...
nothing was banked and when an actor was sick ...the cv's had to give it another twist... while if they had banked then the sick actors would have had enough time to recover...and viewers would have been happy... I blame PH for this mess up..
as I said after watching the BD's here and the regularity they are used...I still give credit to the PH off Geet cause we didn't had so many BD scene's...the actors were professional..at KTLK I dont No what to call it...
what I once understood: that banking for a track doesn't work cause Cv's want to change a track asap...and if you have to much bank the material goes waisted...

Earlier they used to shoot in advance ..but from some time they r not ..n d reason could be "VIEWER'S REACTION" ...i think due to low trp ...after the telecast they wait to see our reaction first n then they do necessary changes in d script ...smtms they add or remove things on public demand ...same thing hppnd with kmh2 ...n we cant ignore that they r trying to do changes ..n that changes delay their shoots ..no wonder y we dont get promos instantly.
n it is good n bad both .
