Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated every year to celebrate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi,the Father Of The Nation..Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2nd October,1869 in Porbandar as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi..His parents were Karamchand Gandhi and Putlibai.

Gandhiji was one of the most eminent leaders of India during Independence Movement.He led the Civil Dosobedience Movement which was based on "Ahimsa" or "Non-Violence"

Gandhi is also known as "Bapu" In India and honoured as "Father Of The Nation"..His birthday is also celebrated as worldwide as the "International Day Of Non-Violence".
Gandhiji led the famous Dandi March in 1930 and later the Quit India Movement in 1942.

This year we are celebrating Mahatma Gandhi's 142nd Birthday.
Gandhiji married Kasturbai Makhanji,14 years old in May 1883.Gandhiji who was 13 years old then said about his marriage "As we didn't know much about marriage, for us it meant only wearing new clothes, eating sweets and playing with relatives."

Gandhiji died on 30th January,1948..He was shot while he was going to address a prayer meeting.

I wonder no one has liked the post & even commented on the thread!

We all have definitely lost respect for him. I was not around IF at that time but I remembered him on 2nd oct & even kept a silence for 2 min today (30th jan: the day he breath his last)

Gandhi Jayanti can be celebrated but first tell why Congressi Government has named Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru as Terrorist in Mumbai based NCERT Books once.
