A Theatrical episode !!
A nod of appreciation to Abha Parmar for that brief moment when she begins her Gudia marriage talk ...
The epi begins with the Sisters in the grip of strong emotion at the imminent parting ... They recover enough to go to RM house where they are greeted affectionately by the Raizada's ..A teary moemtn for Khushi when Nani's words remind her that Payal is now Raizada's treasure and she will be separating from her .. Arnav who had arrived last notices Khushi's tears, offers his kerchief and tries to allay her distress with his own brand of comforting ..An action which is watched is growing anger & restlessness by Shyam..Shyam swiftly intervenes and sends Arnav away from there on using Akash as the bait and when he tries to make his move, Khushi leaves him standing alone n goes away
NK seems to be a very perceptive man, he seems to be picking up on the vibes of Shyam ..will he be the whistle-blower from Raizada side, the one who will stand up to Arnav and give him what Arnav simply refuses to believe in ...
A shot which sort of irked me was Shyam and Khushi in the same frame, standing side by side ... before I could mutter what tha ??? quickly comes Arnav in between them, splitting them in half ...None of the member saw Khushi's tears but Arnav did & also offered her kerchief , will he be there tomorrow too ??
A mention must be made of Abhaas's voice modulation in this segment.. the suppressed anger, hurried tone to send Arnav away instantly softening to a hypnotic pitch when addressing Khushi was well done..
The scene by Poolside with a tense , absent minded Arnav whose Mind & heart is revolving around Khushi , whose famed power of concentration & focus seems to have deserted him as he fumbles to unbutton the sherwani, His thoughts slipping out , embarrassed about it but not giving much while on the other hand A scatter brained Khushi , short of announcing on national TV has done everything to reveal about the rendezvous .. same anticipation but different reactions ..the contrast was wonderful to see ..
Nani has begun to get worried at the delay , She is calling up a missing Anjali ... while Shyam is gloating ..Abhaas was good with his lines here !!
The next scene, Khushi stops abruptly n pauses by the mirror and so does Arnav ..A hesitant Khushi turns towards an equally shy Arnav ..Predictably it is the impulsive Khushi who gets off the mark first, huskily whispering that he wanted to with Arnav completing her sentence...then Arnav does his most favorite job... Yep, he begins to back her towards the wall.. Arnav starts on his admission whe he is rudely interrupted by the guest who wish them and move away [bless them ] ..Undaunted by the interruption , Arnav again inches ahead when his eyes alight somewhere on Khushi's anatomy [ Don't ask me where ??] his eyes puckers in surprise followed by amusement, he extends his hand while Khushi closes her eyes unable to bear the closeness of the gorgeous hunk as her racing heart seems all set to explode from her rib cage ..Without uttering a word nor making a sound, Arnav bring the hand and touches the mirror n presses his fingers against it , while a breathless , confused , starry eyed Khushi can go only, Arnavji, Arnavji...and the bloody Arnavji is taking his own sweet time to unzip his lips ...Khushi goes Arnavji a second time whilst Arnav is unable to even articulate and contents himself with a monosyllabic 'hmmm'..before Khushi can go third time Arnavji ..the mobile rings ..the sound of which is ignored by Arnav while Khushi reminds him about the ringing phone.. Arnav with a small smile cuts the phone but the steward interrupts them, tells Arnav that Nani is calling a family council..Arnav walks away, stops n turns back , A puzzled Khushi enquires the reason ,Arnav smilingly points out at the Bindi on the mirror which he had stuck previously..Khushi is flabbergasted to see it and also secretly joyous ..She turns to look at Arnav who has paused by the curtains and is looking expectantly ..Another waiter comes and requests Arnav's presence downstairs .. Arnav accedes to it .. makes a movement as if coming towards Khushi but then with an unwilling half step he turns and walks towards his family.while a ecstatic Khushi willingly accepts the honor and gift from Arnav, put on the Bindi handed by him to her ...in one small gesture, Khushi has given him the power and right over her, her future, her happiness and her smile ..
This was the best scene of the episode for me .. The slow back up reflected in the mirror where initially they are shown as two individuals standing side by side, then gradually aligning in the same angle both maintaining their individuality but also beginning to merge , the final act when both become one with Khushi existing within Arnav n Arnav existing within Khushi ..both their bodies reflected one upon the other , truly wonderful to see such subtlety ...
Another moment was when Arnav points out at the bindi he has stuck on the Mirror, turns to look and leaves confident that Khushi will put His Bindi on ..Khushi does not disappoint, with a smile indicative of her pleasure, acceptance and love , she puts it on her forehead ..The marriage is now complete , clever of CV's ..They got Shyam to overreact over the simple tikka and made us aware that a momentous occasion has happened with Arnav finally owning her , by applying the bindi and also fulfilling Buaji's statement as well as Khushi's assertion...Yes, She is married but she is still stuck to Gupta house
Also loved the back -forward walk of Khushi-Arnav... very much reminiscent of the Diwali walk but what a difference from that to this ... On that fateful day, both were caught in a magical flash, unaware of anything , their minds completely at abeyance as hormones took over , unconscious about their actions, brought out of that enchanted thrall by the ringtone of the mobile as they crashed to the ground, shocked by their actions ..while today they are both conscious, intensely aware of one another, their senses are heightened ..They consciously move towards one another ...The phone rings, but the interruption is cut off and the emotions run smoothly despite the disruptions ..The enchantment is there, the magic is there but they have consciously, willingly, wholly accepted this magic ..
The final moment when Arnav walks away despite longing to stay by Khushi , a rueful smile on his face as he glances yearningly at Khushi ..That half step suggesting that although his heart wants to be by Khushi, duty bades him to attend to his family. Arnav chooses duty over emotions, mind over heart and walks away leaving a young innocent dreaming about a rosy future ..while a dark shadow looms unseen by either of them..
Abhas acting when he rehearses for Anjali's funeral...started out well but turned too theatrical ..Shyam is getting ready for greeting his wife...oops wife's body..the methodical man that he is he begins to practice and perfect his grieving act with him tearfully requesting Khushi to cure his wounded heart..Really never seen such a deluded man before who sees the reality but is unable to accept it ..I say Khushi by all means provide the balm, hand over the sulfuric acid , much better pour it over his heart with ur own hand ...could have been a good scene had t been kept short ..
So far Bauji was not aware of the attempts made on anjali but now this accident will become open news... Will the clever bauji begin to put 2 & 2 together ...
