Recap: Arnav came to Adi's ceremony late which made Khushi mad at him. Later on Khushi and Arnav get into a fight in which Arnav accuses her of wanting his money and trapping Shyam for money. Khushi went to bed crying and Arnav spent all of the night gardening. He goes to bed at 4:00 in the morning.
She moaned as she felt the early sun lights hit her face. She clutched on to the cloth harder and dug her face into it. The familiar scent reminded her of who she was holding making her smile against his shirt softly as she breathed in his presence. It always soothed her to wake up with him right besides her. The days he was not there, she was cranky all day. Khushi didn't know why it mattered, but waking up in an empty bed only made her mad. And it's not like I am asking for too much! He is my husband after all! Khushi would always sooth herself when he would start questioning her sanity.
As she tried to regain conscious of the room, she recalled the fight they had. Slowly lifting her head up off of him, she opened her heavy eye lids. You look so peaceful in your sleep' Tracing his face with her finger she thought about what he had done and said to her. Groaning softly, she let her arms buckle, as she fell right back into his out stretched arms. Hiding her face once against in his chest, she thought, Why do you always do this to me? Is that all I mean to you? A person who is meant to keep your children and the world happy? Why won't you let me keep you happy?
Khushi glanced at the time and sat up in shock. Oh no! Haye Devi Maiyya! It's 9:30!! I have to get up and get the kids ready!! What if they miss their school??! She quickly swung her legs off of the bed, prepared to jump out when she felt his arm on hers. Startled, she turned around to see him moving towards her side of the bed. His previously calm face now had a streak of irritation showing on his forehead. She checked if he was still sleeping and was surprised to find him still in deep slumber. I better wake him up too' Or else he will get mad for no reason', she thought but she couldn't find herself breaking his peaceful hibernation. Brushing her hand on his forehead lightly, she eased out the crease that had appeared and quickly detangled herself from him.
Grabbing her clothes, she ran into the shower to get ready quickly. When she came out, she saw him sitting there working on his laptop, again' All of her anger from last night reappeared as she watched him working nonchalantly. Does it not bother him!?! We fought and I cried myself to bed and he is acting as if nothing happened?!?! What did he think I was doing yesterday? Singing him a lullaby?!?! She slammed the bathroom door shut and walked over to the dresser, smirking when she saw the reaction she had wanted from him in the mirror. Fine Mr. Raizada. Two can play at this game. You don't want to be married to me right? You don't even want to make this marriage work! Not even for the kids. Well you know what? It's fine. I am done trying as well. Let's see how you do without my help. She put on the sindhoor in her maang and sprinted out of the room to go see her dear children.
Arnav watched her as she came out of the bathroom with soaking wet hair. She was wearing a lavender saree with embroidery on the side of her pallu. Her eyes met his and he saw the uncertainty in them clear as day. He knew he should try to make it up to her. What he had said was completely unnecessary, especially when he knew it was not true, but he didn't know what to say. What can I tell her? It's her fault! Why does she always have to instigate me? Isn't she the one who is always complaining that I don't know what I am saying when I am angry? Then why does she always make everything a battlefield for me?! He looked back at his computer and started to work. It doesn't matter. If she has a problem then it's her fault. I didn't do anything wrong here.
Arnav looked up startled when he heard the door slam. His eyes frantically looked for her to make sure she was okay and he saw her staring at him from the mirror. Her eyes didn't show any of the hurt they had seconds ago anymore. They only showed determination. I wonder what she is determined to do' he thought but then went back to work thinking, whatever it is, I will find out soon enough'
"Adi! Rhea!" Khushi yelled as she opened the door to their room assuming that Viren was up already, "Get up you two! You are late for school!!"
She stopped in surprise when she saw that not only two but three people were asleep in the room, meaning even Viren had not gotten up. Forgetting all of her anger towards Arnav and her panic for the kids being late, she rushed to her baby to make sure he was not sick. Why is he still sleeping? Viren never sleeps in! He is just like his father and likes to be punctual about time' Is something wrong? My baby! She felt him stir underneath her cold hands as she checked his forehead and face to make sure he was alright.
"Mama?" Viren asked in his sleep.
"Yes beta! I am here. Are you okay? How do you feel? Tell me is everything alright? Viren talk to me!" Khushi yelled in her despair, holding him tightly as he tried to get up.
"Mom! I am fine mom! What is wrong with you? Are you okay? I am completely fine!" Viren responded a little shocked by the rude awakening he had just experienced.
"What happened?!" Arnav asked as he walked into the room.
He had heard Khushi shouting but had not been able to make out what she had been saying. The moment he heard Viren, he quickly walked over to their room to make sure everything is alright.
"Arnav look! He wasn't waking up! See it's so late and he is still sleeping! Call the doctor Arnav! He is sick! Can't you see?? My poor baby is sick! Oh Viren why didn't you tell me you didn't feel good?! I would have given you medicine or anything that would make you feel better!! How could you do'" Khushi scolded her oldest son until she was interrupted by her husband.
"Khushi. Let him talk will you?" Arnav said, noticing his son pleading for help from him by his eyes.
"Hain! Mom I am fine! See Dad knows right Dad?" Viren told Khushi, looking at Arnav who nodded in approval.
"Oh forget your Dad! What does he know? He is no doctor! Arnav have you called the doctor yet or not?!" Khushi demanded.
"Khushi he is fine. Look at him!" Arnav told her gently, as he stood beside Viren, holding him by the shoulders.
"Mom, seriously! I am fine!"
"How can you be fine!? Why were you still sleeping?! You didn't forget about school! You never forget about school!" Khushi said, now a bit more stable as she saw all three of the males that she loved in front of her with Adi sleeping off in the corner.
"Mom, you forgot. We are on vacation! Remember? School ended!" Viren reminded his mom gently, feeling a bit calmer as he felt his Dad standing beside him, his powerful aura rolling off of him to comfort Viren.
"Kya!? Haye Devi Maiyya! I forgot completely!" Khushi exclaimed when Viren shushed her.
"Ssh! See they are still sleeping! Let's go before they wake up," Viren suggested, smiling as both of his parents obeyed him.
"Heyyy!! Who says we are sleeping??" Adi complained.
"Ya! See I am awake!! See, see!!" Rhea yawned out as she tried to open her eyes by rubbing on them.
"Hai dekho! Even Di is awake!" Adi commented before he could stop himself.
"Kya!?" the room exploded with Arnav opting out to say "What the" instead.
"I mean Rhea. That's what I meant'" Adi commented quickly before people started to question him further.
"Nahi! You said Di! You meant it!! Yes yes yes!! Daddy? Did you hear that?!?!?" Rhea asked as she quickly jumped out of bed and ran to everyone who were surrounding the main bed.
"Yes bunny! I did hear that!" Arnav responded, smiling as he saw the happy smile on her face, "Khushi I am going to take a shower," he said as a side note as he got up to leave.
Arnav was always delighted whenever something good happened with his family, but for some reason he never wanted to share the joy. He liked to look at their happy faces from afar, trying to stay as aloof as possible, but that was not possible. His wife always made sure he was more than involved, which only ticked him off about her even more.
He smiled to himself as he heard the room behind him exploding with noise as Rhea and Adi argued about what the little guy had said in his sleep.
Khushi watched him quietly. She had gone hysterical when she the thought of her baby not being well had entered her mind but now she was back to normal and she could tell he was back to normal again as well. She had seen the worry in his eyes when he had appeared and as usual, when he saw the storm had passed, he opted out on staying for the celebration. Why do you have to be that way Arnav? Why? Her mind only filled with more unhappiness which fueled her anger even more. It made her sad to see him so aloof from the family, as if he didn't care or thought that they didn't care. Are we just a responsibility that he has to oblige to? Is that why he is still here and has not given me a divorce? Does he think that we will not be able to live without him? Well then he is mistaken. We would be just fine without him, she thought.
