This realization is 7 months in the making! Nothing rushed about it! If anything it was high time he Accepted his feelings!
He has known what he is feeling is "Probably love" since the guest house incident I think! That was why he ran from it! Despite him running from his feelings, circumstances kept briging them together and he could not stop himself falling harder for her each time.
He was devestated when he found out she was engaged! He could barley contain himself! HE rejected her on Diwali night, but he was still floored knowing that she had moved on! THEN he called off his engagement with La as they BOTH knew he felt something for Khushi, which he did not feel for La!
THEN of course PAYASH kept bringing them together and NK comes on the scene and from day 1 Arnav is jelouse of K's closeness to NK!
So this "Dance" was just the last step! By stepping forward in public to take her side and dance with her, he decided to give into his feelings! Especailly the Physical intimacey of the dance gave him a taste of what he has been missing! Like some "Voiceover" in an SBS said "Dance Katham hogaya hain, par Khushi ka Nasha Arnav ki dimag sain Itene Jaldi Nahin Utherega" (something to that effect)!
SO he has finally given into the "Jadu and Nasha" he has been feeling! He is a normal guy at the end of the day! He MAY be ASR, but he is still a guy! A guy who's crazy in love and just cant hide his feelings anymore! We ALL knew this day would come eventually when the dam inside him will burst! Just like Anjali predicted when he said he will "Stay away from such a girl if he fell in love"... he WONT be able to do it!
HE tried at Diwali to deny his feelings and move in another direction but he failed in the end, coz he was the one who suffered the most after SHE got engaged! SO, finally Arnav is giving his feelings permission to fly and I am thrilled with this progress in his charachter!
