"Whatever." I crossed my arms in a huff.

"Hahaaa...Nupsie you are so cute. Stubbornly cute if I may add. Well you have waited so long. Why not a few minutes more?"

"I hate waiting. For anything. The anxiety kills me and especially if it's you. Every second we are apart seems like an eon has passed between you and me. I just can't seem to bear this."

"I had never known you wanted this much to be closer to me. Does even standing an inch apart hurts you?"

"okay serious now...open your eyes . I am right here beside you." I felt a sappy wet kiss on my nose as he finally removed the blindfold." So do you like it?" he peered at me through wide eyes.

The view infront of me left me speechless and numb. Cascading waterfall gently made its way down the slope. The lushly green meadows bordered it giving the running water company through its course down. The clouds appeared as if hovering over us. The world below couldn't be seen from this height as darkness engulfed them. However there was still light here as the setting sun shimmered behind the tall dark pine trees. It was a beauty to behold. The cool breeze gently played with our tresses. The humming of few lone returning wild birds added to the soulful pensiveness of the place.

"Nupur?" He gently tapped me on the right shoulder to break me free of my reverie.

"Yeah...Okay then. It was worth all the climbing you made me do to reach the top. In one word- beautiful."

I gently rose on my heels to give him a light peck on his cheek."Thank you."

"Wait, there's something more."

"Now what Mayank?"

"This." He held out his hand with a gorgeous bouquet of freshly plucked purple orchids. I couldn't help squealing in delight at the sight of my favorite flowers.

"Oh ...two words now- love them!"

I ran into his open arms to be warmly enclosed in his strong hold."But the best part of the surprise is still to come. Save your love for it." He winked.

"Mayank." I eyed him suspiciously."Don't test my patience. Out with it right now!"

"What do I get in return my feisty lady?"

I pretended to think hard." You get what is spontaneous reaction depending what your surprise is."

"Fine. Just remember your words. Give me in return what you will feel."

"Deal." I nodded my head.

"Alright ...here it is then. " I waited with curious breath as to what he could surprise me with. He was empty-handed infront of me.

I looked closer. There was something tiny glistening in his fingers.

"OH...MY...GOD..." my jaw dropped.

"Is that a no?'

"You idiot...I hate you!!" Thick large tears rolled down my cheeks.

"But I love you," he smirked. "Now cut the drama and accept it. My knees are hurting."

"Get up you dolt. It's a yes!" words evaded me further as I badly choked. He quickly slid the ring in my fingers and got up. I could see mine reflection in his hazel eyes. They were moist as well.

That was the last thing I could make out before my senses were swept away by his warm lips ruthlessly capturing mine yet with the delicate touch so ever possible. As I allowed him to savor in the delights inside my mouth reaching out to my soul I slowly felt myself drowning in the unexplainable passion of love.

Rubbing my eyes I woke up, wiping the lone tear from my cheek- a reminder of my last night dream. Hitting the alarm to stop I ran to hurry getting ready for hospital duty.

"Hey Dia, good morning."

"Morning Nupur. So are you finally coming tomorrow evening?"

"I am so sorry Dia. I can't."

"But it's New year's eve. You gotta come! Ian and I are hosting this party to celebrate with our family and friends. And you are my best friend."

"Dia, you are the only one who I can always confide to just about anything. Please understand, I just don't feel like celebrating."

"What's wrong with that guy? He hasn't yet called you since he left town?"

"I don't know. I have tried calling but apparently his number isn't reachable. I am worried if he's okay. Has he contacted Ian by the way?"

"No.Heard of his welcoming party in Atlanta through a common friend. If he doesn't bother to call you soon, he'll be regretting big time from my side."

"Relax Dia, he's just lost his father. He is spending time with his mother. There has to be some strong reason. Anyways it's been only 5 days since he left."

"Only 5 days??? Don't give that crap to me. How much can he be busy so as not to even text you a simple message? Don't defend him. And moreover don't act as if you're okay with his this behavior."

"Dia I am alright." I spoke in a small voice.

"Right. You are happy and don't cry for him missing him. Sleep peacefully at night and not constantly stare at your cell hoping he would call you anytime. You are totally in the mood to rock and roll. But care not to party in New Year's Eve because oh –its-so-not-worth –it...definitely not because I am unhappy."

"Dia."

"I am sorry Nupur. It's hard for me to see you in pain. Does he even loves you or not?"

"Yes he does."

"Has he ever actually confessed?"

"I do not doubt his love even though the customary I-love-you he never said. I don't need his words to get what he feels for me."

"When he will be back I am sure he will make it sure."
