Rajeev's departure was very sad. His last performance with the Sufi style Punjabi folk song was just superb and spoke volumes of his caliber.

It is amazing the way he managed to survive the contest, despite constant discouragement and condemnation by the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa EMAT GGs, his own partner, and some co-participants. The 'culture shock' that he was subjected to was not an easy thing to handle. The cut throat competition that he was exposed to in Bombay, and the practices indulged in to deal w/ that, were obviously overwhelming. Yet this boy did not lose his calm and continued to perform.

The issue of "Phone conversation between Sanchali and Vishwas" was trivialized by all in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa EMAT team. However, it must be remembered that Rajiv comes from a small town where a degree of cohesiveness and bonding is still maintained, where traditions and customary etiquette still hold value. The 'open' bitching and griping appears to be an acceptable trend in the film industry. An industry where unprofessional behavior reigns supreme and egos dictate decorum, where show of respect is governed by money power, as evidenced by the behaviors of Challenge 2005 mentors and the star invitees. (Though in lighter vein, the Indian politician far exceed the film industry folks in this behavior).

The act of telephonic conversation conducted with the speaker phone on, between Sanchali and Vishwas, was a VERY SLY thing to do. Mr. Paresh Rawal may have done more justice had he modified his statement and advised Rajiv that he will not get anywhere in life if he bothered himself with "BEHAVIOR WHICH WAS SO TRIVIAL FOR THE FILM INDUSTRY AND THE METROPOLITAN / BIG CITY SELF-CENTERED/SELF-PROMOTING CULTURE." I cannot forget the look on Rajiv's face after that advice, which seemed to ask, "was that a trivial thing?"

This young man needs a break in his life. He and his family appear to be under great financial stress. I am approaching all those listeners, who are his fans, and, those who have heard him sing on the last day, or those in positions of power, to organize "credible and open to inspection" fund raising for him. He may use this money to make an album of Sufi style and Punjabi folk songs, which he does best. The sales proceeds may relieve his financial stress. I will be happy to chip in. Since I am based in USA, I am not aware of how this can be achieved. Suggestions are welcome from people located in USA or India. DOES ANYONE HAVE RAJIV'S ADDRESS/PHONE NUMBER OR PRESENT CONTACT INFORMATION?

I hope Rajiv will grab Mr. Hari Haran's offer to learn music from him. In the end, I only reiterate what Mr.Ismail Darbar & Mr. Aadesh Shrivastava have already said. Rajiv can be a wonder star singer if he can perfect all his 'surs.' Additionally, he must learn to control his emotions from interfering with his profession.

This is with best wishes to Rajiv.

I am responding to the request of Dynamo, to provide the lyrics of this soofee Kalam. I am making an endeavour to do that and also the translation of the song. Just to give credit to Bulle Shah (Real name Bulkees Chand) the sufee saint who wrote this one any many other Kaffees, as they are called.

Rab Bande dee Zaat ikko.(Cast of the god and the humans is same) Jeeven kapde dee zaat hai roon (Like the cast of cloth is cotton). Kapde de wich rooh lookya (Hidden inside the cloth is cotton) Jeeven wich bande de too. (Just like you the God almighty are hidden inside the humans) Aape bole aap bulaave, tey aap karey hoo hoo. (You are the one who makes human speak and you are the one who speaks inside the humans hoo hoo Like Allah hoo allah hoo)
Too maaney ya no maney dildara asaan te tenu rab maneya. (You may or may not believe me , but as far as I am concerned I revere you like God) Das hor keda rab da dwara, asan tey tenoo rab maney. (Tell me where else can I find the abode of God? except on your threshold) Tujh bin jeena bhi kya jeena, teri choukhat mera madeena. (What is the worth of life, without you, for me, your threshold is my Madeena, the sacred place of Muslim, where they go far Haj) Meri saanson ka boley ik taata, asaan te tenu rab manya. (The single string musicall instrument, of my breaths, chants that I have accepted you as God)
Dynamo, If you want to hear the original song, go online to Puran Chand Wadali, the soofee singer and listen to the full song. But I must say that Rajeev sang better than the great Guru himself.
I am also located in SFO area. I am very keen to raise some funds for Rajeev and help him settle in Bombay. He Financially in a desperate state, as he and his parents have no means of livelihood. Can we work together and organize contributions from the fans of RAjeev in USA and send him some money, that may help him to survive in the jungle called Bombay and help his parents to repair the leeking roof of theier dilapidated house..

Nihira may be moderately successful if luck favours her, and Rajeev can get some offers courtesy his different voice.. But as Rahul says, few offers does not make a career in playback singing... As for stage shows - there too the magic is difficult to last long for anyone, not just Rajeev...

But given his great original voice, I just hope that he utilizes all opportunities to learn, however late it is - its going to help him and am sure he will be able to carve out some space at the local level if not global.. and for him, even that level of success will help him realise a lot of his dreams... Hoping for his best!

i dont think age is a big factor when it comes to playback singing.he is only 30 even 10 yrs from now if he gets properly trained he could break into playback.kishoreda sang for a film just days before he was dead and he was near about 55 at that time i guess.

as for rajeev i do believe he will get chances coz of his different voice😊

Rajeev has earned a lot of goodwill from the EMET episodes and will always be popular. People love to watch him perform because his voice has rich tonal quality and is very macho. With some grooming and a change of outfit he can be very well packaged. EMET has done well for him and I am sure he will always be thankful for that. 😆 😆 😎

Yeah,Provided you have the talent 😊
SPB ji is 60 and still sings for 30 year old's cuz his voice still has that youthful feel to it 😊

Jaya Ji,Will Partly Disagree with you.IMO,Nihira can be as succesful as Shreya and the industry is big enough to accomodate these singers, provided they've the talent.
Shreya came frm nowhere to being a top singer just becuase of her talent :)
The same can be said about Shaan..The last 4-5 years have worked remarkably well for him.Today he features in evry other OST we hear
I hope Nihira's songs in Salam-E-Ishq give her the right platform 😊
