I never thought I would ever be saying this but Ambaji in this track has simply fallen as a parent and comes across as a bully who bullies the nicer , amiable minded ones but bends like a coward before the strong headed , wrong ones like her own daughter Hetal and nanand Phui .
I ABSOLUTELY hated the way she gritted her teeth and YELLED at Mona for telling Karan about the pregnancy .
Its another matter that Mona did NOT tattle but it was a pure misunderstanding that led to the revelation of a secret that the Gandhis were sitting on since 3 days .
But even if Mona HAD told her brother , WHO gave Ambaji the RIGHT to talk that way to bahu . It is simply UNACCEPTABLE , that tone and tenor and those gritted teeth .
If she has guts Talk that way even once to Your BETI and show . In front of her tantrums Ambaji becomes helpless and goes on her knees ...gives SAATH in every scheme of hers .
Such BAD parenting really . And she tom toms about her great sanskaars .
When a daughter is selfish and falls in the habit of playing the victim and whining that she was unjustly treated and felt unloved ...and holds this victim card over her mother's head to get her way in every little thing , she is attempting to bully and control her mother .
And when the mother as a parent decides to appease her as IT IS THE EASY WAY OUT instead of showing tough love and battling it out with her , the mother does BAD PARENTING .
On What level Has Ambaji guided Hetal perfectly as a good parent should have ? I don't see ANY level , any occasion .
In the matter of Car demand , Ambaji buckled before Hetal's greed , supplied her with bahu's car and later when her lies were found out did NOT insist that just the way Hetal took the car from her brother bhabhi ...same way she should RETURN it to Brother bhabhi . So what if Anukalp said LET IT BE . Ambaji should have vetoed it and sent a strong message to Hetal . By falling in with Anu , Ambaji did bad parenting as Hetal ultimately got that car .
If at a certain point she DID believe Hetal that the Bedis were dowry demanders and insisting upon that car , she should have told her NOT to give in to any such demand and insisted that she would speakk to Vimmy about it . By showing Hetal that she would supply any dowry demand Ambaji sent wrong msg and again was a bad parent .
By Indian standards its regarded as shameful when Beti does not stay in sasural but at maayka for days , along with the husband , especially when sasural people r more than welcoming and constantly coming to door step to plead to Ambajis Beti to return home . Ideally Ambaji shud have FIRED Hetal and told her to go back and NOT given her support so that Hetal wud have understood the difficulties of living alone . Ambaji cud have conveyed her dis[leasure by saying Your seperation does NOT have my blessing as it reeks of manipulation and gives pain to kind elders who are not at fault . She did NOT . Not once did she tell Hetal this but decided to play safe as she did NOT wanna give hetal the chance to blame her .
So hard to be the bad guy is it not ? But those who are unafraid to be the bad guys in eyes of tantrumy spoilt children and only focus on doing the right thing are actually the GOOD parents . I have yet to see Ambaji being unmoved when hetal throws a tantrum about YOU DON"T WANT ME AND KARAN HERE and replying to her frankly ...YOU ARE DAMN RIGHT I DON"T COZ I "LL HAVE TO ANSWER TO THE BEDIS FOR YOUR SELFISHNESS . YOU CUT MY NOSE , YOU SELFISH GIRL .
Even meek Kalpesh mustered up courage to speak his mind and stood by what was right , but not Ambaji . Kalpesh had told her privately , that Why dont u speak to her and send her BACK to her sasural as this whole thing is WRONG .
In the PREGNANCY thing , Ambaji went along in the HIDING business . It did NOT befit her at all , I am sorry to say . As an elder she should have urged her daughter to talk to her husband and tell him frankly about her thoughts , but not to HIDE as hiding would only cause more complications , misunderstandings and pain . Bad parenting again .
Instead she took anger out on innocent bumbling Mona . Only bullies do that as bullies are cowards ...they can never stand upto bigger bullies [ Like Hetal } so they turn and pick on the innocent .
So much hiding ...it was bound to b low up in the face . What did Ambaji expect Karan would feel after 3 months ? That he was the only one in the dark and others knew ?
Encouraging Beti not to tell husband and his family as if they were abusive family or something when in reality they are the most liberal , kind , loving people in the mohalla , was really shameful .
Neither has her Beti ever fulfilled a single responsibility of becoming a bahu , nor given the family next door a single moments peace . Now toh she has broken their boy away from them and plonked herself permanently in her maaika . Perhaps planning to raise kid there only while Karan goes out and comes comes home ignoring his family on opposite road .
Not once has Ambaji fired Hetal for not bothering about Daarji 's Health .
Not once has she fired her for insulting Mona like a dog .
Why ? Coz she wants no blame from Hetal . She is afraid of Hetal's blames .
In short she is afraid of doing the right thing . The Geeta teaches us to go against your own in the battle of life if you are right .
Ambaji joined Hetal instead .
In this track she has gone away from my heart . She comes across as a very common woman who backs selfish Beti but bosses bahu around .
Bahu is pulled up for hiding about Corporator nomination but Beti is encouraged to HIDE from Husband .Wah ! And it seemed as if Ambaji HATED Hiding .
These are double standards . Ambaji owns a big time apology to Bedis and the firing of a lifetime to Hetal , preferably a public one , in FRONT of Karan .
But that won't happen . she will only grit her teeth at Mona .
