Damn..I am just as confused...is it that the CVs are confused and they are not sure how to position his character...or are they portraying multiple LAYERS to his characterization.😕

As for the EYE closing and FIST and JAW clenching scene...i think it was a combination of all three...confusion with why he want to touch her...frustration at why he wants to soothe her and Anger at himself for falling into this confusion and frustration!!😃

Nags, I now think that the only reason Arnav is allowing La to stay at RM is bcoz of Khushi. If he asks her to leave RM, Khushi will have no reason to come to RM - he is hiding behind the excuse that his Di wants Khushi and therefore he is tolerating her in the first place.

Yes, I agree that Arnav should be honest with his feelings with La. It is really not fair on his part to keep her hanging on to a relationship that has no future. But I am surprised that La doesn't sense his disinterest. We girls are blessed with in built radars in such instances. If nothing, La should be able to read his body language which very clearly states "stay away from me".

I agree with Vrushy's defense mechanism thingy - I think that is a large part of Arnav's character. This incessant need to hide what he really is and defend what he wants to be.

Chick - even I wondered about that scene. I thought the fist thingy was more like 'damn, I hurt her again - physically too this time' or maybe it's 'damn , did I just put out my hand to touch her?' or maybe it's 'for the first time, I reached out, but couldn't grab her' (:-p)

If we take a step back, we'll realize that he only wanted a girlfriend, not a live in one. That was Shyam's big idea. Wonder how everyone forgot about that. When Arnav said he doesn't intend to marry Lavanya or break up with her, Shyam came up with the wonderful live in idea. So, I guess live in is also something that he didn't want.

I think he just wants to stick to the image that he's built for himself - someone who doesn't believe in marriage and so will never get married. Also, someone who doesn't listen to anyone/succumb to norms (society and Naani included). So, for him, I think it was only about making a statement. He doesn't even look at Lavanya each day if he can help it.

If so...then Janet...doesn't that make him rather CHEAP for using La for his own gains...and by keeping her in the dark of his real intentions...fir she really thinks she is in a real LIVE IN relationship with him!!!

I think if they're living in separate rooms..and the way la does come to him for some affection, some bodily gestures which he pretty much rejects or passively accepts- i think the issue here is simply that arnav sees la as a convenient relationship...in the most simplistic of terms.

He knows la- he thinks la and his persona match well. And la does what he wants- agrees to what he wants- a doormat-who doesn't converse with him, doesn't make him think, doesn't make him FEEL

What he's getting form LA is a state of STATIC where he doesn't NEED to feel. a numbness he can usually maintain.

now that khushi has come, i think at one level, he does want out..but it's very very faint as to push khushi away, he will keep la close-by. Again, for his convenience..for HIS needs- not sexual or emotional..but non-emotional. Simply a presence..NAAM ki girlfriend, NAAM ka live- in.

For ASR- the outward image is important. FOR ASR, arnav must not be revealed. but he has been revealed more than not to khushi.

That's what i think.

Rishte- the only rishta arnav values is his blood relation with his di.

Nags, my response to that would be that all of that is in his subconscious mind. He obviously doesn't think that that's what he's doing. He thinks he is happy in this situation in this life - namesake girlfriend who doesn't question a thing he does (erm doesn't do in this case) or demand anything or oppose him in any way. So, since in his conscious mind he doesn't intend to break up/marry and he assumes that she's fine with that too (until now), I guess he doesn't think he's wrong.

Personally, as long as something is between 2 people and it's consensual, I think it's right. Of course, it's not consensual anymore considering Lavanya wants marriage (erm and Arnav wants Khushi :-p).

Wow...really...I don't know...its entirely possible...nut again this portrays him as a BIG liar for he has repeatedly said to Khushi that he tolerates her simply because of Di...otherwise she would not be allowed anywhere near his home.

La...unfortunately was not in GOD's Sensor line...she was apparently absent that day!! 😉 But, her stupidity should not be the reason to take advantage of her...that is simply not done!!🤢
