Chapter 1 - The Past Remains The Same
"Rhiddhimaaa-"She screamed.
She sat up and looked around, complete darkness. Exactly what she was afraid of, this darkness that had surrounded their lives after...after'she couldn't bring herself to repeat the incident. Somewhere a light was switched on, the shining bright light hit her delicate face. You could make out the features of her face now, her eyes were a dark brown with innocence reflecting in them. Every feature was defined. Her body was shaking out of fear. A hand reached out to touch her face, unknowingly it comforted and calmed her.
"Geet" The comforting voice called out.
Geet let a sigh of relief out. She was safe. She rested her head on the figure's chest.
"Maan" She called out. This was Maan Singh Khuranna, owner of Khuranna Industries. He is the loving husband of Geet. Geet is his life and whom he cannot live a day without.
"Maan, I saw it all over again. I can feel it Maan. Something's wrong, I need to go to Ridzy, I need to find her and warn her-"
"Geet" Maan forced Geet to lie back down on the bed. "Calm down Geet, just relax" He stroked her hair.
"How can I? Maan she's in danger, I want to talk to her now please" There was desperateness in Geet's voice.
"Geet, you perfectly know that if it was in my hands I would take you to meet Rhiddhima right now, but if we have no idea where she is, then how can you meet her?"
"Please Maan, we can look for her, she needs me-"
Maan cut her off "Geet why don't you understand Rhiddhima is happy wherever she is. It was just a bad dream."
"I want Ridzy back, I want her now, please" Geet pleaded.
"Geet go to sleep, we can talk about this in the morning, now shhh" Maan placed his finger on his lips to indicate to Geet to be quiet. He kept stroking her hair till she had finally fallen asleep.
He pulled the blanket over Geet, and gave her a light kiss on her forehead. He got up but was pulled back by something. He looked back to see Geet holding his hand, a smile came upon his face. He slowly released his hand from Geet's.
Maan walked over to the window, the moon was shining bright in the dark sky. The wind was blowing hard, it seemed as if a storm was on the way. 'It was a night like this exactly when it happened' He thought to himself. "Geet when will you understand? That nothing will ever be the same again. After that dark horrible night nothing can ever be the same again" He muttered to himself, whilst looking at the stars that were shining down at him. He slowly pulled the window shut as not to make a noise that might awaken Geet. He went back to the bed and laid next to Geet. He stared at her innocent and beautiful face for a while. Before he knew it he was asleep too.

On the other side of the world, in London the sun was starting to set.
"Mummmyyy!" A young girl called out. She ran up to the woman standing at the gates of the Nursery. The woman knelt down till she was the same height as the little girl. She put her arms around the small girl, and gave her a kiss on her soft, rosy cheek.
"Rhea my princess, I am so sorry. I got held up in an emergency. You know na Mamma is very busy these days. I promise baby it won't happen again." She gave the little girl a smile.
Rhea crossed her arms and turned around so that her back was facing the woman.
"Hmmm princess is angry with bad Mummy na? How about if Mummy got Rhea some Ice-Cream? Would princess still be angry?" The woman let a little laugh out. She pushed her soft hair away from her face, the wind kept throwing her hair back in her face and covering the beautiful features of her face. Everything about this woman made you want to keep staring at her, as if she was a magnet and you were constantly forced to stare at her.
Rhea turned to face her Mum. "Can I have strawberry flavour and chocolate and vanilla and-"
"Yes baby you can have every flavour you want" She took Rhea's hand and they started walking back down the road.
"Mummy I love you lots" She turned to look at the woman who's eyes were brimming with tears now.
"I know Princess. Mummy loves you lots too, your Mummy's life" She wiped the tears that had now started coming out of her eyes. "Now come on let's go before the Ice-Cream Parlour closes and then we'll get no Ice-Cream if that happens."
They both disappeared round the corner of the road.
The sun was half way setting now; you could just about see its orange glow. The streetlights were starting to switch on and traffic was starting to increase as people were starting to make their way back from work. This was the usual atmosphere of London on Monday nights.
