The above article was early-mid 2009. CB was the only 7:30 show to get TRP of 4. Why doesn't Zee remember this? Only when a show starts successful, Zee promotes it. Also, much of the shows that ended recently aren't because of bringing in new shows, Zee deliberately pushed in bakhwas tracks so the TRPs would lower and they would have an excuse to end it... so annoying!

Zee's Promotion/marketing strategies are laid back. they still believe in highlighting one/two shows which are gaining good trps whereas they completely loose the ground in others. They shud know better than u and me that these trps system is very flawed. not only Indian soaps but intenational series are getting hit by such flawed system. Random tv viewership cannot be captured with some 30K trp monitors placed probably in metros only (not ware of their measure system) plus Online and DVR viewing has increased in last decade with DTH and other system so i dont uderstnad wht TRP system shud still hold any value.

Anyways no matter if TRPs are correct or not (system is flawed plus i think there is some tempering with numbers..) i believe Zee and DJs are collectively responsible for tehir state. Zee has some blind notions to run an entertainemnet channel whereas DJs are most pathetic PH. they dont know how to put their foot down like Balaji PH and allow any amount of intervention in their show by Channel which always had short term gains in mind. DJs are incomepetent to not take some strong actions/good creative team from the starting and now i belive they are not interested to promote their own show or ask chennel to do so. Now it seems they are busy with some other shows and as far i know this PH is not lik Balaji which can handel multiple productions at a time.

Whatever be the case i feel its Cb cast/crew (majorly Avina) and its fans who are bearing all the heartaches. CB is performing consistently low (@1.2+ range) but that is without any single effort fromm Channel to highlight the goodness in the show whereas rivals are very aggressive in their strategy of prooting their 7:30 slot. This i believe is highly comeptitive slot and wonder why Zee is not looking at the facts. Rivals alwys have counter moves whereas Zee simply chooses to put their guards down without even trying.

Cb for me will alwys remain best show no matter how brutal their treatement will be but feel frustrated with low numbers despite knowing these are not true picture of performance but alas for channle its only these numbers that matters😡

One more point can it possible that Channel/PH are deliberately behind butchering the story/leads?? reason: They were never interested in the show and they just wanted to shut us by giving us second season of CB and on other hand were completely uninterested in overall story arc of the show. So to achieve two goals they gave us Cb2- One to get quick money for few initial months, second they had this personal vendetta against Cb fans and to put the show down they are playing with it now as they thing they do not have anything to lose...

Seema i agree with the highlighted part ...Zee,s another show completed 100days , they were so excited , celebrating with cake and party , when CB completed 100 days not even a mention ...Lets see what tomorrow brings

Plus Star at that time was going thru a rough phase. Back then, Star gathered numbers in 200+ range whereas now, the GRPs of Star account to 300+, but ZEE is lying low in 100+'s.

Yes, but some serious problems are there in ZEE's marketing strategy. Its a wrong move to only promote the already established/successful shows...all serials should be given fair treatment and they should be promoted equally. Only then can a channel surge ahead. By promoting only few serials (in this case ZEE only has 2...and only a single Super hit show, PR) the channel can never achieve the top status.

In those days other than Doordarshan Zee was the 1st private channel and had run many good shows and was on the top and then the head Subash Chandra had grip on the pulse of the people .It had many hit shows now there is lot of competition in the market and lot of regional and language channels, so all have to be on their toes always and being on the top is very short in fact at one point star used to shut down serials at the drop of the hat and antagonise not only the viewers of that show but others also but now you find some of the longest running shows in that channel and those doing very good though in between they also faced problems But Zee must be the 1st channel who closed a show at 3+ trps not even giving a chance for it to complete 500 episodes😡 .
The downward trend started for the whole channel no one likes such disregard for their emotions and viewers built up emotions and fondness for shows its not only CB but some other good shows also shut down before that so they stop watching shows on that channel as they dont know when it will be shut down or the story killed or characters spoiled it has a cascading bad effect on the viewers.A good channel should not interfere with the story lines as long it is going good unless something not proper or against the policy of the govt is shown

other then reality shows and films shows in the hindi shows there are 12 shows which have got between 1 and 1.99 so you can see how close the competition runs. rest have got 2 and above and rest below 1
