When it comes to Bollywood and this forum, 95% of the times we discuss the stars/ actors only. However, there is more to film making then just actors and actresses…. so lets look beyond the stars ( Sitaron se aage jahaan aur bhi hain...")

So who are the directors/musicians/choreographers/ singers/cinematographers/ writers/editors/ lyricists, etc. in Bollywood whose work you really admire and why?

I'll start…

Gulzar : He has written songs, dialogues, stories…he has directed some very memorable movies… he has many awards including the Oscar and the Grammy…. But I love him because he is a dreamer and poet… a person with a unique way of looking at and interpreting things around us…

" beedi jalile jigar se"... "aaja aaja dil nichodein"..." surili akhiyon waale" ..." dil to bacha hai ji"... anantomy seems to acquire a new dimension when it flows from the pen of this gentleman...

and he seems to have a special love for the moon

" Chand ki utar li hain dono baaliyan" "yeh chand ka chikna sabun, kuch der mein gal jaayega"...

Words will be less to describe "Gulzar Saab"... God Of Lyrics Writing... Excellent command in languages... bring a whole new life in Hindi cinema by his lyrics and His direction.

i love Marasim like anything... it's a depressing medicine, but every word of it is a gem...

Kisi Mausam Ka Jhoka Tha, Joh Iss Deewar Par Latki Hui Tasweer Tirche Kar Gaya Hai
Gaye Sawaan Mein Ye Deewarein Yoon Seeli Nahin Thi
Na Jaane Is Dafa Kyun Inmein Seelan Aa Gayi Hai Darare Pad Gaye Hai
Aur Seelan Is Tarha Bhaithti Hai Jaise Khushk Rukhsaroon Pe Geele Aansu Chalte Hain

Even if he do a Asian paint ad such cute words

Har Ghar Chup Chap Se Yeh Kehta Hai, Ki Andar Isme Kaun Rehta Hai
Chath Batati Hai Kiska Aasman Hai, Rang Kehte Hai Kiska Yeh Jahaan Hai
Kamron Mein Kiski Kalpana Jhalakti Hai, Iss Farsh Par Nange Pair Kiske Bache Chalte Hai
Kaun Chun Chun Ke Isse Aapne Haathon Se Sajata Hai,
Kaun Iss Makaan Mein Apna Ghar Banata Hai

👏
