It has not yet become a law.So the current law prevails which does not automatically voids child marriage.

A wife,married or divorced has a right to maintainence. AFAIK the question of right over husband's property,it only arises on husband's death and only a legally married wife have that right.

If you don't mind me saying this, look at it for informing your self about these laws (just like I did coz even I was also unaware) rather than from the serial's perspective coz the serial will take whatever course the director wants but unfortunately child brides in real life who are unaware of these laws will not be as fortunate to use this to their credit.

Child Marriage is a joke and completely illegal and a CRIME...and thats exactly what they have depicted in this show...I know its difficult for Anandi...but this is the biggest evil effect of child marriage...

I agree with Sonali. Divmath, why are we looking at the one side of the coin why not look at Anandi's rights even if not as a wife but as a human being. Is she a cow or a pet who has been bought for the family? Does she not have a right to find a lifepartner for herself, why Jagya, The Man has the right to marry her, accept her when he became an "adult", use her and throw her out of his life. Jagya accepted her at the age of 18 and was very much in love with her until he hit Mumbai that too at the age of 18 and met Gauri. Whenever he thought about himself being in Mumbai he always thought about being out of the village and the dirty village people, not about Gauri . He did not think that he is out of the village for Gauri so he can spend his life with Gauri. He always thought that he is out of his village to have a luxurious city life. I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow he falls in "love" again with some other girl and would want to leave Gauri for that newly found "love". Jagya portrays the character of one selfish, arrogant person with no values and culture who loves himself so much that he can do whatever for his own happiness. I very much wish that he leaves Gauri for someone else and then Gauri will really understand the pain Anandi is going through right now.

I dont think Gauri has done anything to be called cheap.. But yes,, Its only JAgya who does these acts... Whatever he is doing comes under this category eversince he went to Mumbai...

is this the right way to show consequences of child marriage that a boy goes and marries another woman.this can even happen if boy or girl marry at a matured age.

Gauri n jagya both deserve each other as they are equally heartless and shameless...Sorry to all the gaga fans but its nothing personal guys its just that I can't stand gaga n my hatred towards them doubles with each episode after seeing anandi's tears ...
