Scene 51

Viren had arrived at office and was quite busy. He did not have the time for lunch because he HAD to submit his project rapport today. Tonight was their 3-months anniversary and due to the work load he did not have time for planning a surprise. He was thinking of inviting Nivedita out for dinner. They had hardly seen each other last 14 days. He had been busy and she had not bothered him once for neglecting her. He had many times observed that Divya could be irritated at Siddhart for neglecting her etc. but this was not what he had observed with Nivedita.

She had taken care of everything at home and had made sure that he got his lunch on time and if he had skipped his breakfast, she had made sure that someone at office gave him breakfast. His life was surrounded by her love and affection and he dwell in it day by day. He had told Nivedita that he was going submit the rapport today and now he could not concentrate. He just wanted to go home.

He was trying hard to concentrate when someone knocked at the door. He looked up and saw a boy came in with a rose and card. He smiled knowing who the sender must be. He took the rose and began to read the card,

This journey begins, where it all started.

She was referring to the bridge, where they had met for the first time. He smiled and then called Nivedita. She sounded busy and regardless how much he asked her about it, she did not tell him why they were going to meet at the bridge. He kept waiting for her to say something about the anniversary and she did not say anything at all. So he decided to wait and watch and went back to work. The work seems to be not ending and hours were not passing by. He did manage somehow to finish his work and then went towards the planned destination.

When he had reached the bridge, there was no one. He was on his motorcycle today and he parked it and began to look around. It was here their journey started. He was trying to see if he could see Nivedita somewhere, but she was nowhere. Then suddenly his eye fell on a rose and a card. There was a stone on the card, assuring that wind did not blow it away. On this card, it was written,

Next stop: Where life and death meets.

He knew it was the hospital. He loved her surprise so he went to the hospital and was thinking of what she might have planned for him there. He went there and everything seemed to be quite normal. Whom could he ask and how? He seemed all lost then he looked at the reception and found an unusual decoration in form of card and rose. He went there and was about to take it, when the receptionist asked him about his name. He told her that his name is Viren Sood and then she smiled at him and said that in that case these belongs to him. He was getting more and more excited and opened it quickly. Nivedita had written,

He went to the Mandir, where Nivedita's voice had bewitched him and forced him to come to the Mandir. Not only that, there was a magic in her voice that made him play the flute. How much did he not miss the flute today? When he arrived there he stood there for a while. Nivedita had not only given him love and family, but she had made him realize the existence of God and the value of faith.

What Nivedita did not know was that on the night of separation he went to the Mandir where Nivedita took him once to make a Mannat, so they always were together. He went often to Mandir now, but no one knew about it. It was his meeting with his Friend and he had promised God that he will meet Him often and he had pleaded and begged God to grant him Nivedita. His sincere prayers were heard that night and he was granted Nivedita. Now he went to meet God for thankfulness and this relationship was getting deeper and deeper. Niveditas love had given him belief in God and his sincere love for God had given him Nivedita. Now he was blessed with both in his life. If fortunate fates were to be described in this world, one could surely describe Viren's fate as being one of them :)

He went upstairs and the prayed and was given another rose with a card.

Viren smiled and then decided to drive. He knew exactly where she was. She was at his favorite park waiting for him to come. He smiled over that she was as good planner as himself, actually she was better. He just could not wait to meet her and suddenly he was thinking of he had not bought anything for her. He decided to have the gift due, so he was not late...
