I think Guddu's change is due to his father. Guddu's father might have put the condition that he will use the money for his wife's care only if he is convinced that Guddu is treating his wife well.

Also I noticed in the precap Guddu gave particular stress on the words - Marriage means union of two ppl and two FAMILIES. I think he is trying to prove to her that since he is caring for R and her Amma, it is her duty in turn to care for his family. I am sure in coming epis G will create a situation wherein R will herself express a wish to meet his family. So Guddu's father will get to see a responsible G treating his wife well and he will accept the money.

Well, thta's what I think of. While watching thi show I feel a close resemblance to an old show on star - Karam Apna Apna. There also the Shiv(Iqbal Khan) tried his best to get rid of Gauri (Pallavi Subhash) I 'll share a clip from the show later..need to go now. I can almost imagine R saying this to G eventually.
