Kalsanwali and Mittho head to Amma's room. Kalsanwali thinks of calling Billo but Mittho stops her and says that along with Billo, Buntu, Billo's follower, will also come. While Billo might not say anything, Buntu isn't one to keep quiet and they will be in trouble. Mittho and Kalsanwali go into the room, and are spotted by Runjhun.
Runjhun wonders what Kalsanwali and Mittho are up to so late in the night and wonders if Amma is okay. She thinks that she hasn't seen Amma for such a long time, and says her mind is at unrest, and she is worried about her Amma.
Inside Mittho's hesitance flares up again, and she thinks that Kalsanwali's actions will send her to jail. She voices her concern to Kalsanwali and says that if anything goes wrong they will be in deep trouble, and their about to commit a huge sin. Kalsanwali tells her not to talk like a coward. She says the police will only know if there is proof. She says that as soon as Amma dies, they will bury Amma, and the proof with Amma in the ground.
Mittho retorts that Lakhan Mishra will not accept that. She tells Mittho they will need a death certificate proving that Amma died due to natural causes and not poison. Kalsanwali says that she's not an amateur. She produces a death certificate already filled out and signed by officials, and says that all they have to do is fill the date. Mittho thinks to herself that Kalsanwali has learned all from her father and come here. She asks Kalasanwali where she got the form, and Kalsanwali tells her it is from her father. She tells Mittho to go ahead and put the poison in Amma's water.
Runjhun outside is worried that Mittho and Kalsanwali haven't come out yet. In her worry she rushes down to the door, and is about to knock on it when she remembers her aunts' threats. She says to herself that she is so close yet can not reach out to Amma, because her silence is connected to Amma's life. She is about to leave when she sees Lakhan.
Lakhan asks Runjhun what is wrong, and suspects that something is amiss. Inside Kalsanwali is telling Mittho to hurry up. Mittho's hands are shaking as she is about to put poison in the water. Lakhan bangs on the door, and startles them both. Runjhun tells Lakhan not to wake Amma, and she's worried. She tells him that she was just checking if Amma is asleep or not.
Inside the room Kalsanwali & Mittho rush to hide the poison and the death certificate, and Kalsanwali tells Mittho to get rid of whoever is outside. She wipes the sweat on Mittho's forehead and they open the door. Mittho sees Lakhan and then see Runjhun.
Runjhun says that she didn't try to come here but Lakhan insisted that she come here. Lakhan agrees. He says that Runjhun is Amma's favorite, then why does she look so scared to be near Amma. He walks in the room, and sees Amma sleeping. He then notices that the windows are boarded up, and says that there is no fresh air for Amma. He says Amma has grown weak, and blames old age.
Mittho says that because of the noise they've blocked Amma's room, trying to distract Lakhan since he's standing near the box where Kalsanwali hides the death certificate. Runjhun wants to see Amma but is hesitant. She peeks from the door, but can only see Amma's back, and wishes that she would turn so she could see her face. Amma turns in her sleep and Runjhun is happy to see Amma but notices how weak and frail Amma is looking and is concerned more about her Amma's health.
Lakhan sees the poison bottle, as Mittho sits by Amma's side and turns her around, afraid that Amma will wake up, and their game will be over. Lakhan asks what's in the bottle,a nd Kalsanwali snatches it up angrily and starts threatening Lakhan that he should stay as a guest and not try to snoop int heir business. Mittho says that Kalsanwali gets angry pretty easily, and tries to explain that the bottle is just medicine.
She says they try to limit Runjhun's access to the room, because whenever Amma sees Runjhun, the worries come back, and it isn't good for Amma's health. Mittho asks if Lakahn has any more questions. Lakhan says no and pretends he is sleepy and walks out. Mittho and Kalasanwali close the door behind him, and Runjhun is worried again.
[CRYPT]Lakhan goes back to his room, where his wife is snoring away, and wakes his wife. She asks him why he's awake, and asks him if he's not feeling well. She tells him if he is constipated again, she can get medicine for him. Lakhan tells her to keep quiet and says he doesn't want medicine, but he is sure that Kalsanwali and Mittho would be keen on feeding him poison. He starts rounding his clothes and tells his wife that Amma's one foot is in the grave, and so he is going to go bring Runjhun's groom here. He tells his wife to keep all eyes on the family, and make sure that nothing happens. He leaves.[/CRYPT]
