I understand your angst totally about the missing story-line that seems to have gone AWOL!

What we are getting of late is a series of incidents and not a power packed STORY.

But,remember the adage, "Be careful what you wish for....you might just get it!"??

Well, we are to blame partly for the current situation.

As you said, Gc/DD are superb actors and thanks to them Maaneet's chemistry sets us and our imagination on fire. We thrist for them more and more...so, teh cvs are giving us more and more.

And they are shoving AA at us mercilessly for this very reason, so they can give us MORE of mannet.

We've made the cvs' lives easier with our demands that they've figured that there's no reason to search their heads and imagination for a story line as everyone loves the romance. Unfortunately for them they can't show this realistically or non repetatively.

Thus your anger and disgust at the absent story line.
Just my two cents.

I agree kinda of
Geet is losing the main storyline n the scenes are the same
I think the major story line is not moving at all
Geet has so much potential they can show one whole year full of interesting tracks n not seemign like a drag at all..
seriously they shud get some interest in the audience n kick AA out there r a million better tracks other than AA
Plzz cvs balance the tracks u dun have to show everything from geet's side n then show everything from maans side..u can show sameera track n then dev track n then another track from maan's side n thern one from geet;s that wud maintain the interest as well..
But i dun really mind that..But the pace of geet is slowed down a lot now..n MSK is turning more out to be losing his character charm..like THE MSK
I really wanna see the honeymoon in MSK high class style
Why same old pool side?
Why not something new new places??
Anyways
I am still enjoying the show right now just these few things here n there..

@pippa: I agree... I had hoped that they would show something really unique and spectacular when Maan and Geet had broken up over the misunderstanding Geet had had... like she would really be shown doing something on her own...

and they made a mockery of it with that indian paints CEO act!.. it was ludicrous, but I has still hoped that something would come out of it.. ah!😕

then again, after marriage I really wanted to see Geet work in KC and not sit at home... the one thing I had really loved in the pre-marriage scenes was that Geet would blatantly seethe when Maan would tease her to become a good housewife... why even when Daadi joined in the joke and tried explaining that she would have to be a dutiful wife, she had sulked and argued...

so what is she doing now?! giving Maan his kerchiefs and mobile while he leaves for office!😳... taking him lunch! and all that while dressed like a desi clown, in neon colors and prints!

Also I agree that Man, being an indulgent husband and loving and eing playful is a nice touch and ofcourse expected when hes with Geet the love of his life and his wife.. but seriously sometimes the director seems to forget its maan!
FOr instance when they came back from the 'movie', where Maan walks in with her.. it felt it was more Guru than Maan😕... Also , its MSK isnt he... when the waiter said they didnt have kulfi, he shud have been shown to get angry or arrogant, not try to reason with geet.. doesnt go with his high-and-mighty character...

also such a high end hotel... such an amazingly rich clientele.. and the chef had to be bribed for a super-rich guests whim!!! that was unpalatable!😲

and one last thing about Geet-- one thng that is kinda beginning to bother me is she is being shown a little bit too clingy.. I eman yeah.. its a dream marriage, a dream husband, but in making her out to be a little too 'small-town', shes being shown practically hanging on to his arm all th time! getting jealous and hamming stupidly with that shawl...

Naah.. geet shud in fact be shown more cool with it... i dunno, but thats how I feel... there are some glaring inconsistencies with the lead characters, nothing too much right now, but they have the potential to go horribly wrong if they keep at it... and we 'd hate that!

Maan Singh Khurana character is legendary and lately the CVs seem to be taking it a bit lightly. Still adore the two to bits right now😳.. but they better take care..

Superbly written post. You've made a lot of pertinent points regarding the story and characterisation.

I strongly feel that the cvs and the production house never had a clue about how and where the story would go. it was a clear case of shooting inn the dark..if it hits it hits and if it misses, it misses.

The earlier characters of Geet and maan were mere experiments that disappeared into thin air when the remarkable chemistry took over and the strident demands for more romance grew louder.

What is unforgivable is the age old belief that only a good man can save a woman from a fate worse than death.

Maan is now the saviour and Geet is the Grateful One. The same Victorian rant that once a woman loses her virtue her action may cost her family its good name and it requires either the man who brought about her ruin or a man to save her reputation as well as her familiy's.

I don't know if it was your post some days ago that highlighted this point. I remember that TM saying why such a great deal was being made over sleeping with someone out of wedlock. This is the 21st century and such things are common. Annie did it out of love for the man and now they are showing her pursuing that man relentlessly to accept and acknowledge her love as well as his.

The cvs are gift-wrapping this with romance so that the less observant among us don't see that it's more a case of self preservation than any true love.

As for Geet, her current air-head act is funny and cute and helps in showing an indulgent Maan who accommodates her every whim. Personally I don't mind this so long as they don't stretch it forever.

@ Pippa

Good to know we concur..

You are right about the Victorian morality part. If you think about it, how did Geet's redemption in Darjee's eyes come about? Simply because she was marrying Maan, something that Brij had asked for right at the beginning. How much ever you may dress it up as romance, it is the same at the core. A 'fallen' woman requires a good man to come along to help her 'rise' in the eyes of society. Wonder if Darjee would have bothered to come back if Geet has still been struggling as a single mother with a day job?! I am not complaining about the romance. I am as much a sucker for it as the next man or woman. The thing is I don't think it has to come at the cost of a woman's self esteem. Is that too much to ask for?

About Annie, you're bang on. It is certainly self preservation..nothing wrong with a healthy dose of that..but I wonder if Arjun is worth it?
