Gymnasium Capers & PanSid Jabbers
Okay guys,
It might look like a filler episode to you but it is not. Infact , it is fun to have all the characters back in the groove after an intense AbhIya week. I like how the screen space spreads out to everyone and other serials should learn at least that much from PKYEK. Anyway, on to the episode
Gymnasium Capers
Hmmmm… so the new sports teacher , Shanaaya is not a filler character after all. She is here for an agenda – Abhay Raichand. She has been sent by someone ( my best guess is Siddharth) to do some homework on Abhay- dig up things about him which the predator/friend in waiting needs to know. So, her special attention and strict behaviour with Abhay made sense towards the end. She is not here to issue health cards to the students. She is here to prepare a report card on Abhay.
Abhay , on the other hand was right when he told Piya that he cannot afford to attend gym classes or display any physical strength. He is supernatural and his strength superhuman. No matter how much restraint he exercises , reflexes are , well, just reflexes and one careless moment can expose Abhay's hulk like strength and endurance to the whole college. How will he ever explain that? But at the same time, Piya was also right on her stand. She is protecting Abhay's identity and she understands his position . Yet , she has a point when she says that by behaving like this , going against the tide , he will only attract more attention. Abhay gives in to Piya and goes to the gymnasium only to sit in a corner while everyone else sweats it out. What I like about this scene is that putting Abhay-Piya's love aside , the comfort level and that basic thread of a confidential friendship that they have is so normal and functional. Like Piya knew what she will tell Abhay and Abhay understood and gave in without being too bratty. I want this 'friendship and trust' to stay no matter how torrid or horrid their love story goes.
Kabir LURVES Abhay , doesn't he? If you look at today's episode, you see that Kabir is not just jealous of Abhay ( be it the competition of the stud image or Piya's affections ) … he is confused and intrigued by him as well. Why Abhay behaves like that? Why nothing affects him? Why doesn't he listen to anyone? You can see this on Kabir's face when he wonders why Abhay is not following the orders of Shanaaya. I don't see Kabir bitter or angry at Abhay any more – not today at least. It is like how two good looking men have this ego-battle between them that is just masculine and proud – there is no venom in it. That way. Towards the end , when Kabir takes jibes at Abhay for being a chicken , Abhay doesn't get angry or ballistic. He invites Kabir for a basket ball match with his signature cool waters humour. Kabir , the aggressive 17-18 year old and Abhay , the been-there –done-that 200 year old. I liked their scenes. I like this Kabir who is an egoistic stud with a heart and I don't see any reason for his character to go grey at all.
And uh-oh, how many thought that Piya was being a figurative Baby-Sitter to Abhay today? Abhay , don't do this – Abhay , don't mess with Shanaaya- Abhay , listen to me. Awwww….. caring girls always take the cake, don't they?
On a lighter note , Shanaaya giving a Relispray to Abhay and Abhay giving her the most respectful 'ATTITUDE' was fun and so was Misha-Tracker's SHAW WAR. Shaw, you are one lucky guy , my man!
PanSid Jabbers.
In one word , they are CUTE. They seriously are. You have this charming womanizing boss and his prude snobbish assistant who wonders why he was born at all. They don't fight , they don't flirt , they don't hate each-other and don't exactly love each-other. But there is this subtle tamarind gender war where they both are trying to get the better off each-other without crossing their lines. Sid stays in his limits and so does Panchhi and yet they give you the fun of chick flicks. Their archies comic books' like chemistry makes them slowly grow on you.
Admit it, Pancchi doesn't hate her boss and she doesn't hate her job either. She enjoys the abuses and jabs that all women send Sid's way and she laughingly even rubs it in his face. For all the cute troubles that Sid gives her, Pancchi hops with joy when Sid's 4lac something watch meets the end or a woman refuses to talk to him. Sid , on the other hand, doesn't mind Panchhi's feisty back answers – he too retorts in fun and quite likes the fire in her. Like when she was glad that Sid's beloved watch was over , Sid just smirked and grinned back at her. No typical dishoom-dishoom and 'I hate yous'. I see this as a refreshing look at a man-woman equation and as of now , I like it.
But wait! Sid is Sid, isn't he? He slightly flirted with Pancchi when he bent over and asked her softly in her ear that what were her favourite flowers? Pancchi's reaction was of a woman who is caught off guard- thinking of her heartbreak or caught by the man in Sid. Tough to say.
The closure of the PanSid tu-tu-main-main was fun though. Sid will send a bonsai of Cacti to Birdie soon. After all, as she told him. Cactus is her favourite flower! Haha.
Dialogues of the day:
Abhay – 200 saal mein mere saath aisa kabhi nahiin hua or something like that.
Piya ( rolls her eyes )- Sarcy hone ki koi zaroorat nahiin hai. 😉
Pancchi – You are such a child! 😡
Sid – No.I am all man. 😉
Kabir – Dekh , main iss Raichand ka raaita kaise banaata hoon.😡😡😡😡😡😆😆😆😆😆😆
PRECAP: Two hotties on the court and what fun! But if Abhay loses this match deliberately because of Piya's pleading rondumal expressions , I swear am going to send Haseena to bite her teenage neck off! Kabir needs to lose so that he understands that Abhay is just as good as him and stops calling him a sissy.
P.S – There will be no FF update till 9th Feb.
