I haven't read Harry Potter, neither do I have any intention to read it, but I remember the fans falling sick over that part.
😛

Could you please find that thread for me? I don't remember it. I was not into even checking the HP topics before I started reading these books.
Harry's son's name reminds me --- My daughter was really sad when she was done reading the seventh book. She was sad again after we watched DH. My husband, pretending to lift her spirits, quipped in - hey, I read somewhere that Rowling is coming up with a sequel! My daughter said - No way! That ain't happening! He goes - oh, the article said that in the eighth book, they discover that Harry Potter had a twin sister named Sherry Potter and that Voldermort stole her when he killed his parents and that Sherry has been brainwashed by the dark side and Harry is gonna go bring her back home😆 My daughter goes - Dad! We are talking about Harry Potter here - not kekta brand serials!!!
Apparently, even the NRI kids who never watch Indian soaps know what's Kekta's expertise😆

Now I know someone's going to compliment me again for being an expert at digging out old records.

Yep Gauri, book one and two are very childish. The first film especially was such a snoozefest, at least for me. 😆

character development need not be done at snailspeed 😛 actually I might read it again when I have time.. harry potter 5 and eragon and eldest were chores, I tell you.

niiice! he writes well, not like jk rowling in order of the phoenix 😆 his details are interesting.. also his characters have lots of substance, and the concepts are really creative.. This one is about a dog as intelligent as a human and a hybrid monster being released into the wild by a government department. Have you read stephen king? i havent as of yet.

I'll know more when I get to it. My daughter is tight lipped about everything I ask. She says you finish reading and then we will discuss it. She did not even confirm for me that invisiblity cloak theory I came up with based on the first book and this latest movie.

Nope the epilogue does not seal the series really. It just is a jarring uncharacteristic travesty. In fact I would rather have had JK Rowling swear a blood oath never to write another Potter Book than publish that bit of utter trash called the Epilogue.

You read the whole series and then you flip the page to the epilogue. All of a sudden you are transported to Forks, WA where Edward and Bella live sparkling ever after, with their sparking little babies. At least Edward and Bella would have had a wolf of a son in law.

The epilogue is too cliched, too conformist, too cheesy and all that. When you write a series that is so non conformist, that deals with so many dark themes and elements like politics, racism etc. When you have characters that defy the normal bold - you don't end them with such a cliched conformist end.
