Since we had one on HBP, I thought why not one for DH part 1 as well. I know this is supposed to go into the HP section of this forum, but that section has become awfully quite and inactive in recent times (though DM's state doesn't look very inviting either). So post your reviews and here. And a few more things to consider:

- How excited were you about it? And how did it turn out to be? Did it meet your expectation? How was it? Fantastic, decent, or dreadful?

- Thoughts on the movie and other technical aspects? The performances, direction, screenplay, cinematography, music, editing, visual effects, art direction...?

- How did the trio grow and evolve as an actor? Who was the best of the three?

- How close was it to the book? How much did they leave out that made you pull out your hair in frustration?

- Was the split appropriate or not? Was it effective? Was it really needed or did WB just do it to rake more money?

- How was the pacing? Did it drag at any place or was it too fast to follow?

- Any scene/dialogue/performance that stuck out?

- Anything in the movie that you [relatively] found better than the book (a particular scene, for instance)?

- Was it the best of the series? Where would you place it when compared to the other HP movies?

- Was it not better than Twilight? 😆

- Finally, on a quite unrelated note, are you still obsessed with this series or has that phase gone long ago?

Um, and what else? That's all I could think for at this point.

Yes, it released about eleven hours ago! :( All these FB statuses about how amazing it was are making me jealous!!

And yes, that quote is right after the doe scene when Ron is destroying the locket. The voice comes out of it and says those lines. SOOOO excited!

- How excited were you about it?

Totally. I watched it at 3:30 AM and now my sleep wake schedule is messed.

And how did it turn out to be?

Good.

Did it meet your expectation?

Exceeded actually.

How was it? Fantastic, decent, or dreadful?

Much better than decent, but not really fantastic.

- Thoughts on the movie and other technical aspects? The performances, direction, screenplay, cinematography, music, editing, visual effects, art direction...?

Later.

- How did the trio grow and evolve as an actor? Who was the best of the three?

They are way better now than in the past films. There was also lot more room for character development and portrayal. Of course Emma Watson (Hermoine).

- How close was it to the book? How much did they leave out that made you pull out your hair in frustration?

Closest to the book an HP movie has been. Altered but in sensible way that does not tick you off.

- Was the split appropriate or not? Was it effective? Was it really needed or did WB just do it to rake more money?

Split was effective as well as appropriate. When you watch how the movie pans out and what will be in the next it makes complete sense. I'm sure WB did it to rake money, but I think it worked to make a much better movie. Makes you wish some of the other books were split into two parts and more justice was done to book content.

- How was the pacing? Did it drag at any place or was it too fast to follow?

Some parts of the camping/traveling could have been shortened. But overall evenly paced.

- Any scene/dialogue/performance that stuck out?

I've seen your heart and its mine. The dancing. Everything with Dobby. The multiple Harry's. And of course the surprise saucy scene they never publicized that sucker punches you from nowhere. Those who have seen it know what I am talking about. 😉

- Anything in the movie that you [relatively] found better than the book (a particular scene, for instance)?

The animated story of the three brothers and the deathly hallows. Otherwise some scenes are just brought to life in a better way.

- Was it the best of the series? Where would you place it when compared to the other HP movies?

Best HP movie so far.

- Was it not better than Twilight? 😆

Jeez what a question. Thank God you used "It" I'd be miffed if Harry Potter was used in the same sentence as that other crap. Although, I would compare upcoming "Red Riding Hood" with Amanda Seyfried to Twilight.

- Finally, on a quite unrelated note, are you still obsessed with this series or has that phase gone long ago?

Its worn of and is much less than a few years ago. But still I'm quite into it.

Um, and what else? That's all I could think for at this point.

HP is not my cup of tea, but would appreciate if there is any great movies which can be seen for next Holidays....Just now saw Guzarish in Qatar. Hrithik is good. Aishwarya so so. Only a few outstanding scenes touch your heart... Tests your patience. Will certainly not be a commerical success.... SLB should have chosen some other contemporary subject.😊
