i think they were drinking blood as the glass werenot transparent.

ekta doesnt want reveal that they are vampires as of now. so they were drinking in metal glass.

when abhay threw the liquid in the fire it looked red in colour.

so i think it was blood stored in bottle and not wine.

thought so....probably they store blood in wine bottles because if they hunt everyday then they will raise suspicion especially in small towns....like how they do it in vampire diairies (tv show) that is if he is a vampire which from the looks of it fits more aptly.😊

Thats how these predators are supposed to feed on humans.. but In Vampire dairies, Damon drinks it like he is having wine or something😆.. I Guess Vampires nowadays want to be classy😎
